Does Layonara have any basis for a Mystic Theurge or Geomancy class?

Maybe somone famous that succeeded in doing so or old legends?

What you see, prestige-class wise, is what we've got.  There will be no new PrCs added to the NWN version of Layonara.

Additionally, the Mystic Theurge class has always been overpowered - and the Geomancer mechanic (wild magic) would be time-consuming to implement on a class basis.

Speaking in terms of Lore - no, there's no basis for either class.

Mechanically what you see is what you get, but we all use our imagination when making things from the default classes. I have an unsubmitted druid that uses bones for divination, and my main character is a sandcaller. It is not uncommon for Lucindites to be both wizard and priest - Queen Allurial herself should be considered a mystic theurge, in a way, hm? It's one of the reasons she so united Lucinda's church and set the pattern of Lucinda's favor, the calling both arcane and deity-granted. Since all you really need to do in concept is do both arcane and divine, which is easy mechanically, I don't see why seeking a merging of them is out of character nor completely lacking in any foundation.

The sandcallers in the desert shape the environment and depend on it, caring for the place around them - with arcane magic. Certainly not a geomancer, but depending on what someone is looking for in concept it is actually kind of similar. Let's not be hasty with "no basis" answers. Someone could try anything, though it doesn't mean they would succeed. ;) The blending of arcane and divine is not new. The class names don't exist, but depending on what you are looking for there could be things hiding under rocks.

Thanks both for the quick reply's!

I know it would be a night mare to make as prestige classes. Not looking for that per say. I want to go Wizard with my Druid. I know I will "lose" my druid class. Perhaps I could RP and come up with a way to blend the two is what I was hoping for.

Figure I could rp for 5 levels of wizard and experiment trying to regain my lost connection. Then if the DM team looks upon me with favor (and I am willing to use a debit card to ship pizza to them) I could request a CDQ to see if my work pays off.

Glad to see there is a basis for this IG.

I didn't say it would be easy :P And I wouldn't think of it as a means to get around any multiclassing rules etc - a character that did such as you are describing had it as the theme of her druid epic, and Allurial was the queen of Mistone and Chosen of Lucinda, hehe. Likewise, the sandcallers are bound by some peculiar requirements and most of their abilities are useless outside of their associated terrain...and the druids are a separate organization there.

Instead of thinking "Maybe I could use this basis to work towards to get alleviate the penalties," wouldn't that ideally be the goal in the first place? "I want to go wizard with my druid." Why? Does your druid want to go wizard? Why? It seems kind of like you have a mechanical goal, and are looking for a way to achieve that through roleplay, instead of the other way around. ;) If there is no reason for him to go wizard - after all, he would be abandoning the druidic path, why would he! - then what's the draw?

Hahaha. I know your thoughts. :D  Some of it is OOC some of it is IC.

Person born to wizardry but has the heart to follow another path. The dynamics of being torn between duty and love. Duty: to be a Wizard like my Father. Love: being a part of reality like the great spirits of old. Conflict always makes for good stories. I tried to make a back story to compliment this. Finding out I will lose all my abilities just puts a cost to it in my eyes. Costs are not a bad thing.

And I always twist in playing a wizard some how. 3 point flaw I had at character generation. Still not bought it off. And yes I am a character.

What I am glad about is a possible opportunity to role play it all out.
