Check the calender for quest times and find on or two that you can attend.

Don't be afraid to send a friendly "hello" tell to get the ball rolling on some adventure, even if that adventure consists of sitting on a bench talking about the weather.

Visit LORE and read up on the classes and feats and spells and study the maps. Lots of custom content. Oh, and visit the [LORE]GameSystems[/LORE] page.

Alot of times when I log in I'll look at who is around my level for an idea of who might want to travel about and form a party. And even if theres no one on around your level you can still send a tell asking someone to help get you started. Most players will take time out to show you the basics!

Another question. For any character I make, do I need to put anything in the description box?  :\

You can, but you don't have to. Consider what you type though, as it's difficult to change (it requires somebody with administrator access to the database).
Mostly people write how the character looks.

Also, don't make the mistake that I did, and describe something about your character that will or could change before too long... keep in mind time passes fairly quickly in game, so things like age, or what your character wears (unless they will never ever change) might be misleading if you include them.

Seeing as I have plenty of prep time :p Is there any other advice? good places to start? what to avoid? and could someone give a little detail on the "profession" system? (or trade, which i think is the proper term in this case.)

Also I was looking at your submission, (while I'm not a CA and do not have any authority in those matters) I can tell you that they review submissions from the oldest first... so every time you bump a submission, it puts it at the bottom of their order... (although you need to bump when you make changes, so they know it's ready to be looked at again, of course).

:(  Now I feel like an (substitute this space for a word synonymous with 'donkey'). I apologize for the pain I have potentially been. rain has locked me inside with a friend called boredom, so I I might have gotten a little post happy.

Don't worry about it! :) Most of us have gotten a little bump-happy; I've been known to refresh the forums every five minutes, looking for my submissions to be approved.

In IRC, type "~layodate".  Or, you can look on the bottom of any page in LORE.

(And no, I'm not going to tell you.  Find out for yourself.  You learn better that way.)

You can make a new posting here.

I would suggest when you post you provide a link to your original submission which can be either found here or here.

Also would suggest you provide a link to your CDT, which are usually here.
