*looks at the ancient forest green leather-bound book, a symbol of a wolf etched on the cover. She smiles then opens up the book, taking a quill and writing on the first blank page in green ink*
Dear Thistle,
I have often looked at this book you gave me... but i was not sure what to write at the time. I suppose this is a good thing too, as the writings would have been a lot more... depressing.
But i have, with the help of my good friend, Rockhead HowlingWolf the infamous bard *chuckles at that and continues writing* (he's from Hammerbound, remember when you took me once to visit the dwarves?) found at last the city of Hempstead. We traveled for days... maybe longer i couldn't keep track of time.
Some people may give the dwarf funny looks at times, but i couldn't have made it without him really. He was there to perform to the crowd in inns, so we could earn true enough to stay the nights. I always said i could sleep in the trees but he would always reply with
"That's nonsense, ye silly sausage!"
*laughs to herself and writes on*
Not sure what a sausage was... I thought i wouldn't ask, I think it's some dwarvish specialty though... And, i suppose he wouldn'ta survived without me either. I was there to stop him wandering off only to get eaten by an ogre, all thanks to that archery training you gave me many years ago. Oh, and the sword training. *she smiles before continuing*
Don't you worry, I'm taking care of Lythar for you. He seems to get stronger in the bond between us each day. It's strange though, he seems hardly changed from when i was just a young girl, save for the intelliegience only i seem to notice in his bright yellow eyes.
Anyways, on arriving to the city, I seemed .. exposed you could say, and people were screaming at me. I looked around, confused by this, when i noticed people pointing to Lythar, they were scared of him. I tried to tell them, that he wouldn't hurt nobody, but the guards told me to get him out. I looked to Lythar then, and he slowly nodded before dashing out the city.
I thought i'd never get used to it, but i seem to understand the city a lot more now. I have been there for a long time now.. and I have made friends. *she smiles happily* Some of the closest friends I have right now are Rockhead, a human called Ben Poetr, a half-elf called Caerwyn Ahrail'lan, a halfling called Tod Fellow... *she picks up the quill thinking then writes* I would write them all down, but then i wouldn't have room for adventures would I? *she grins*
I will visit you very soon, Lythar and me...
I hope you understand, why I had to leave the forest. And you have my trust on this, I will keep looking for her, I know you think her dead though you know I will never accept that. *a tear falls onto the corner of the page*
*she opens a small box and pulls out a black arrow with large yellow feathers, an eye drawn onto it. She wraps a small bit of thistle round it, wipes away a tear and puts it back, closing the box*
I will tell you my adventures too, and i'll write them in this book, so they will never be forgotten.

*dips her quill into the ink again and begins writing in curly handwriting*
Written- Tunar, Oclar 3, 1436.
Thistle, I will tell you one of my exciting adventures now, and though I am not a good storyteller... just bare with me. *she smiles*
*At that moment Rockhead wanders over to peek at her journal nosily, he says:
"Write about the apple adventure!"
*
*
"A'right, dwarf! Give me some space will ya?"
she replies almost burying the journal in her face while writing on*
This happened quite a while ago, days, weeks even. So it may become two days jumbled as one. *laughs to herself* All part of being an adventurer i suppose...
It was a lovely, bright, sunny day... and I was rummaging through my big pockets again. It's almost as if random things put themselves into them! I pulled out some bits of cloth and thought,
'Ha! I can go sew this, mebbe put a nice pattern on et or summin'..'
And so, I walked into Hempstead's crafting house, made my way to the table, and spread the cloth out. Taking out the needle and a helpful book, I managed some nice patterns...
Anyways, after that, I walked back and saw Tod and Caerwyn. As you can guess, I ran over cheerfully and greeted the two. Tod was sewing his clothes and picking up dye bottles, pouring them over his clothes. He didn't seem to be satisfied with what they looked like. After awhile of this I said,
"I wouldn't worry too much 'bout it, Tod, so long as tha' armor can save ya life, that's enough."
Caerwyn nodded his agreement to this.
"Buut... ya could go brighter'n black still." I said with a grin. I'd been trying for a while now to get Tod to wear brighter colours.
Caerwyn had to go then, so we waved to him. I whispered to Caerwyn before he left, that if Tod stayed in black clothes... I had raspberry juice ready. *chuckles to herself before continuing*
Tod carried on with trying different dyes and then he finally picked purple. I said to him, "Purple? We've been a bad influence on ya, the dwarf will think ya stole 'is colour!" I said laughing.
At that moment, funnily enough the dwarf ran into the craft house, and he saw us. Then the dwarf said: "Yer wearing purple? Are ya sure ya alright lad?"
Tod put a hand to his head and said he was fine.
Then he stood next to Tod and said: "Hey we could be twins!"
"But I'd be the handsome twin." Tod replied grinning.
"Oh, okay I'll be the fat twin!" Rocky exclaimed.
By this time I was giggling hysterically.
So, we all made our way outside to get some air, when we saw Ben. He was working, but he turned around with a greeting. You should have seen Ben's face when he saw Tod's clothes! Obviously not his kinda colours though... seeing as Ben wears black too. I thought he would persuade Tod to dying his clothes back again, but to my surprise, Tod actually said he wanted to go bright and didn't care about reputation. I smiled then, and for a while all went silent. I was about to ask if we were leaving, but then Tod started nodding... and i thought,
'I've seen this before...'
Then Tod looked really upset, so I asked what's wrong, but I didn't get an answer. Suddenly, Ben says, "Sure thing, Tod."
Now i'm just a bit confused... he says 'Sure thing', but he didn't say anything before? So i said back: "Sure thing what?"
He just turned my way and said: "Nothing for yer to be worried about, Shorty." (At least I think he said that... this
was
a while ago.)
So then the three of us stepped outside, and Tod asked: "So... what do we do now?"
Before I can get a word in, the dwarf shouts excitedly: "Oooh, can yer show me where to get them apples?"
I know Tod had just showed me the other day, so i gave him an apologetic look, but we went nevertheless.
Tod had bought us some tickets, and he handed some to the dwarf, then to me. I handed him back how much they were worth though, as I don't like charity even if tickets are expensive.
We had a pleasant cruise to Mariner's, and then we ran, all the way until we got to Crest Hills. I asked Tod then if i had a rope I could borrow, he looked a bit confused, but handed it over anyways.
Then we came to the part where we had to make our way across the cliffface. I took out the rope and tied it round my waist, at which Tod smiled saying: "So that's what ya wanted the rope for!"
And he picked up the end and took the lead, making our way slowly across the cliff. I was trying all the time to put a brave face on. I had lied before, that i wasn't afraid of heights, because I didn't want to sound... weak. But the truth was, I'd rather fight giants anyday, but not this! As Tod looked back, he seemed to know just that.
*taps the page with her quill and rubs her head, trying to remember it all*
We made our way through ... Sun Castle was it called? Anyways, lovely place and all, but we moved on to Wolfswood. I love that wood... mayhaps almost as much as WhiteHorn. The trees and green are a rich green colour, so much so that the light passing through them itself seems green! *smiles to herself*
Tod said that he would get his almonds on his own this time... but I went too anyways by sneaking behind. (I stood on a twig last time, you see, and the giant saw me.)
I thought to myself,
'If he gets seen, I can help fire the giant, and if i get seen, I can attack it so he can escape, as it's my fault anyways. That way, it's okay for me to come! Isn't it..?'
Luckily, the giants saw neither of us. *she sighs relief*
And so, the three of us continued on until we made it to the river, surrounded by apple trees. I stood underneath one while Tod climbed up and dropped the apples, i caught them as they dropped.
When we moved onto the next, Tod climbed up again, but when he reached for a higher branch he slipped. I only had seconds to react so I tried to catch him, and i did, but he squished me! *laughs softly at that*
When he climbed up again he called down: "Thanks for bein' a cushion, Keppli!"
I just rubbed my head and smiled, catching the next lot of apples.
But, on the last tree Tod climbed it again, (I would but I'm a bit clumsy..) and Rockhead ran into the tree! Tod hugged the trunk of the tree, laughing: "Stop, Rocky, ya shaking it!"
"I thought yer were meant to do that." He replied.
I shoved him back a bit, laughing, and thinking
'Dwarves do make me laugh...'
We started to make our way back, through the grove of illusions, where the dwarf thought the sign said 'KEEP OFF THE GRASS'. *chuckles to herself* Which... isn't really at all possible.
Then we got back to the outskirts of Wolfswood, and Tod stopped for a moment and said: "These rangers all look like Caerwyn". He grinned.
I didn't say, but i had always thought that myself... only they're ruder than Caerwyn. They always tell me to go away, even though I am a fellow ranger!
We got back to Mariners and sailed back to Hempstead, while munching some delicous bread...
We all waved then, and went to find a place to sleep...
*she takes a deep breath and puts down the quill*
So there you have it, Thistle. I hope you didn't fall asleep at the beginning, i know you.
*laughs to herself and puts the quill back in her pocket*
*she hears some munching then behind her and turns to see the dwarf eating his apples.
"Keppli! Wanna go exploring?"
"Sure thing dwarf."
I reply with a grin, and close the journal.*

*dips her quill in the familiar green colour*
Written-
Wedlar, Oclar 18, 1436.
Just the other day, I was in Vehl with Rocky (surprise, surprise!) and I said to him,
"So whatcha want ta do now, dwarf?"
"How about we do some exploring... that way."
He pointed up the Brech Mountains, I had never been there so I wasn't sure how dangerous it was. In the end though, curiosity made me agree to him, and we set out to see what was there, keeping our bows ready.
Sneaking through the mountains we edged slowly upwards, but then I stopped. I grabbed the dwarf's shoulder and pulled him back, he started to protest but then I pointed to the yeti blocking our path. It was just walking back and forth along the path we were on.
I thought,
'If I aim me arrow right, I can take 'im down, then we can pass safely!'.
That was a mistake. I shot at the yeti furiously, but he kept running, and when he got where I stood, he kept punching me with an icy fist, and i fell onto the ground. The dwarf then had a lucky shot with his crossbow and he ran over to help me up. I bandaged myself up and sat down for a bit, but the dwarf wanted to go further, so there was no stopping him.
I moved on slowly right behind him, but we didn't get far before I saw two more yetis. This was too dangerous now.
I whispered to him,
"Dwarf, we could go back now. I ain't sure we can sneak past these two.."
But he walked on, so i shook my head and followed. We did manage to get past them without a sound, but then we came to a wall. I looked up and said I could climb it, but the dwarf had already wandered and found another passage. I grabbed a rock and tried to get a foothold, but then it broke and fell down to the floor. My eyes widened as I turned, the yeti had heard and was heading straight for me! The dwarf hadn't even crossed my mind, all i could think of was escape, so I ran and ran, all the time getting closer to Vehl. I was so near, but my legs wouldn't run anymore and i fell on the ground, firing arrows at it lying on my back desperately.
It just roared and pummeled me into the ground. I thought I was a goner, but then I saw Lythar run past and jump onto the yeti angrily, tearing at it with its teeth. Lythar was getting badly hurt, but he gave me enough time to stand up and notch an arrow, firing it into the yeti's head.
I think Lythar must have felt it, when I was in pain... I think in some way we are connected.
I crawled mostly, back to Vehl, sometimes leaning onto Lythar, holding my shoulder. The yeti had frozen it solid.
When I finally made it back, I looked around, and suddenly realised... the dwarf didn't come back!
I turned and looked back to the moutains, almost went back to find him. But no, I was too wounded to go back, I wouldn't make it that far.
I turned back, to see a elf (it think, looked like one), looking my way. When he spoke I seemed to recognise his voice... Sion i think his name was? Anyways, he couldn't speak common, so i thought I'd just walk past, when he made a fire for me. I thanked him, and he talked back to me in common. I said, "I thought ya didn't speak common?"
He just laughed and said, "Learning."
He had spoken a lot more than I saw last though... I think he knows more than he's telling, so I don't trust him...
He walked off then, and I was a bit relieved.
*pulls her hair over her ear to see the page again*
I slept under a tree for awhile and then got a boat back to Hempstead. I looked through my pack and pulled out two purple costumes, smiling.
I thought to myself,
'Gosh, I hope Tod likes this costume, Rocky's probly right in that we should all wear the same stuff, just hope it's worth tha' four true... I think it'll look great!'
I folded them back and walked over to the craft house. You never know, he might be in there? After all I didn't want to carry these clothes forever.
On going there, I saw Niloc outside, and he looked shocked and ran over to bandage my wounds. I told him about the yeti, then after awhile I asked,
"Hey, ya wouldn't 'appen ta see Tod about would ya?"
He shook his head, but coincidentally Tod ran past waving and grinning at us, then dashed into the craft house.
I laughed and said, "Well that answers me question."
So I walked in slowly and gave him a wave. He was at them dyes again.
*chuckles*
I thought,
'Hopefully it won't be orange next... maybe he'll go with blue, that goes better.'
I walked over and pulled out the costume, saying me and Rocky were going to do that ... umm... entertainment party? I spent ages trying to explain what it was, guess I'm not good with words.
Then, after awhile, I looked back to the door, as if expecting Rocky to come through that door as a ghost or something. Tod must have seen the look on my face because he asked what was wrong. I told him all about the yetis and I felt guilty then for leaving the dwarf behind.
He said he'd help find Rocky, for which I was very thankful, but we didn't have to look far, he was right outside... almost like he was waiting fo us.
He told his side of the story, saying he was up against four yetis, I was impressed as I barely survived one of them, and Tod said the same thing.
Then Rocky asked if I gave Tod his costume and I nodded. The dwarf said,
"Come on Tod, show us! You know yer want to." He was wearing his anyways.
So Tod pulls off his coat to show the costume, and I thought I'd pull off my armor as I wear mine under it. I grinned, we all looked really amazing in the purple, in my opinion. Especially those golden puffy sleeves!
*smiles and taps the quill on the page*
Then Rocky said, "We need a name."
I thought for awhile, but I'm not good at coming up with names...
Rocky said with a grin, "How about the flying plums?"
I giggled for awhile even though that didn't get that.
*thinks for awhile*
Plums i get, we were wearing purple... but flying?
*shakes her head and writes on*
Then he thinks and exclaims, "How about Two halves and a Pint?"
Took me awhile to get this one... but soon as I did, I was chuckling away. It was perfect. So we stuck with that one.
Then Niloc came up behind and said, "Who's the pint?"
(Elves... *rolls her eyes*)
The dwarf walked off then, and we waved to him, I think he had to ... see his ox? You never know with him.
Anyways, Me, Tod and Niloc walked onto a grassy bit. Thought we should practice a bit, as I was kinda nervous of.. tumbling.. (That's what i'm meant to be doing while Tod juggles and Rocky plays music).
So Tod tried a backflip first, but he landed on his stomach with an "Oof!"
So I helped him up and then I said I wasn't sure I could do one with people watching. So Tod turned his back, but I didn't notice, and seeing as I was scared of doing the backflip, I tried a kartwheel.
Luckily I managed it and Niloc clapped. Then I saw Tod and went up to poke his back.
He said, "Oh, can i look now?"
I laughed and said, "I did something different."
"And i missed it?" He replied, to which I laughed and said, "Sorry, I didn't notice!"
Then we went over to the sofas around the pond. Tod took the cushions off them and out them around the tree. He was going to run up and do a flip off it. I stood underneath and grinned saying,
"I'll be an extra cushion, just in case."
He laughed saying, "You did a good job at the apple trees!"
I didn't mind being squished, as we were about the same height and all, but I said I'd run if the dwarf fell!
*laughs and throws a berry into her mouth then picks the quill back up*
Luckily he managed it though, and I was impressed, so i started clapping. I just knew when the party came I would fall flat on my face... always been kinda clumsy.
I yawned then, and said I'd better get going. I waved to Tod and Niloc then and walked off to the Scamp's Mug... I needed some ale.

Written- Treas, Novlar 26, 1436.
The other day started as a bright day, with a slight chilly wind blowing my hair softly behind me as I wandered around Hempstead. I had just done some more cooking... but was rapidly getting bored, so I walked over towards the main gate. I reached down to open the handle, pulled it open and... Tod was right there! Probably about to come into the city himself. Gave me a heart attack that did! (Not really, but you know what I mean...)
*chuckles*
Anyways I walked through and he asked something along the lines of:
' "Do ya want to go into the sapphire caves, Keppli?" '
I was a bit surprised, but excited to be going on yet
another
adventure! So I nodded in reply and we headed to the docks. A bit of luck that was, eh?
We bought our tickets and handed them to the ship captain, but then Tod turned to me and said,
"He says he doesn't go to Raven's Watch.."
I laughed and explained that we sailed to Leringard first, then to Krashin. I was picking up the snow and everything... I love that stuff, but then dropped it to catch up with Tod. While we walked, he said how he was going to see if anyone was there... maybe needing help.. or something. I thought this odd at first, but then there
have
been quite a few people going there.
We slowly traveled across the snowy land, eventually finding some kobolds which we sneaked past to get into the cave.
I had thought along the way,
'Ver's took me to the sapphire caves before... so I should know the way... vaguely. I 'ope we cen sneak past them gobbo calvary.. they'd rip us apart..I saw what they did to a Dire Bear.'
But when we had wandered this cave for awhile, our cloaks pulled around us in an effort to keep out the chill, I saw gobbos...but they weren't on those black wolves I had seen last..
I didn't know the way suddenly either..
My eyes widened in understanding. I called out to Tod, and said this cave was not familiar. I told him we must be in the wrong cave. He nodded.
So we crept back out into the open, and all of a sudden Trith ran up to us with a grin, saying something like : "Lost are we?"
We replied with a more than embarrassed 'yes'.
He showed us then the way to the sapphire caves, and we fought the gobbo calvary off and slowly got further into the icy cave.
Every time we found a group of them, Trith would draw a line in the snow and tell us not to go over it until he said something.
I grinned in reply with: "Say something? What like 'Aaaaahhhhh'?"
Tod laughed, and Trith said: "Or 'Ooooouuuchhh.'"
I shook my head. That was worse than what
I
had said, but I just shrugged it off.
More than once I had stepped over that line... guess I'm not too good with restrictions. Or when I get told what to do.. kinda goes in one ear, and out the other.
*she laughs for awhile and then frowns at the large ink blot on the page made by keeping the quill in one place for too long*
Anyways, we then made a fire, for which I was most thankful for, rubbing my hands near it to try and warm up. My teeth were chattering, and I rubbed my near-numb fingers. They asked if I was cold, and I nodded with a weak smile.
I didn't wear gloves.
We talked for a bit round the fire... and Tod gave me a slice of Apple Pie. I thanked him and then wolfed it down (the way I eat most food..). I was beaming with joy. Essa had only recently given me a pie, and now I get an extra slice!
I am one lucky halfling.
Trith then talked about how there was a dragon living nearby. My eyes widened with excitement and curiosity. A dragon! I've always wanted to see one! Magnificent beasts.....
Me and Tod asked at the same time: "Can we go see it?"
Trith said no. My face fell, and I could tell Tod was disappointed too.
There was nothing for it though, and we followed him back along the icy tunnels.
Suddenly we bumped into Ben and Essa.
I thought,
'This day just keeps getting better! Imagine that, the chances'a seein' them at the same time as us... great!'
We talked to them for a bit, then Trith had to run. We waved then me and Tod joined in with Ben and Essa, helping them get some sapphires.
I warned them though saying,
"Gotta say though, they come straight fer me! Must be these really bright colours I'm wearing..."
Essa giggled and Ben exclaimed, "Ya picked them, Shorty!"
I wasn't complaining though... just telling them. Anyways, I wasn't about to change to ... black. I'd rather look like 'a big apple' as Rocky would say.
The memories are kind of fading now... can't remember much now.
Apart from when we made it out back to the entrance and I walked back on my own... avoiding the gobbos.
I made it back to the main part of Krashin, and slept for awhile in the snow, pulling my cloak around me like a blanky. I felt quite... lonely when I woke up. I gazed over to the gate, then glanced around. They hadn't come back. Maybe they were in trouble...?
I ran back, never stopping, never looking back, until my small legs felt like lead. Eventually I ran back through the cave, searching, until I finally found them. I smiled weakly at them, panting, then my legs could'nt take it anymore and I collapsed into the snow.
They helped me up... and I was disapointed. I thought they needed my help, but a voice cried out in my mind,
'You fool, why'd they need your help? They're better off without ya...'
I brushed away the thought hurriedly and they were on their way out, I moaned a bit but walked slowly behind.
After awhile they ran a bit, and I gritted my teeth, walking on, trying to ignore the overwhelming tiredness. Ben shouted back eventually,
"Time to run again, Shorty!"
I shook my head thinking,
'They can leave me half-buried in the snow to freeze fer all I care, but I
ain't
runnin'!'
Essa must have seen the look in my face because she said,
"Do you want to get Benji to carry you?"
She probably didn't realise that annoyed me... made me seem... weak.
So, I just gave her a grin and said, "I'll just freeze then, thanks."
She giggled, and I trudged on. Eventually, we made it back to the boat, where I slept the whole way back, like a log, saying, "Mind if I collapse here?"
And that's it for now, Thistle. That was one heck of a fun, but tiring adventure!
There was *ink fades until unreadable*
*she grins and dips her quill in some gold ink now*
another adventure later on, would you believe... but I'll leave that for another time.
That's because I just ran outta green ink... can't write in any other colour...
*dashes off to the nearest merchants*

*pops open the lid of her new green ink pot and dips in her quill to start writing*
Written - Satari, Jenra 14, 1437
I was in Hemp again the other day... and I was wandering the craft house (don't ask me why.. think I was trying to make arrows and messed it up really badly, as usual.)
Then I saw Caerwyn and I ran over to say hello. He didn't look very happy that day, so I tried not to annoy him for too long. He said he was just going to craft some metal, then he said 'Forgive me, Keppli', all of a sudden.
That surprised me quite a bit, and I asked why. He said he was sorry for being so cranky. I laughed... after all everyone has the right to be cranky sometimes, we can't always be happy, cheerful, little, adventure-going, gobbo-bashing, pie-lovers!
*stops the quill in mid-sentence as she realises what she wrote and crosses that out with a laugh.*
He said thanks then as I said I hoped he was his old self again soon.
Afterwards I went outside for a bit of air, and I saw Rockhead. He didn't look too good though, and he said he went exploring and then he ... uhh... kicked the bucket, let's say.
We chatted a bit and walked around... eventually getting back to where we started.
Then the door of the craft hall swung open and we looked over and out stepped Tod. He looked to Rockhead then and asked what happened.
Rocky told us his tale of how he saw a boat and went on it... taking him to Bear Island. He had no idea what was there! Not at that point at least...
Because he walked into a clan of gnolls and they smooshed him!
We asked how far in his grave would be... and he said it wasn't too far in.
And so we thought,
'Not too far? We might be able ta get et then!'
So we went on the boat to Mariner's... blah, blah, blah.
Then we went on a quite pleasant boat trip (boat was a bit small though, especially dangerous if the dwarf is shuffling about at one end of the boat!) across to Bear Island. We all snuck along the edge, keeping our eyes peeled for gnolls. We saw a massive bunch of them at one stage, but they weren't near the edge so we were alright.
We found his stone quite easily and then just made our way back...
I was almost
disappointed
! It all seemed just a might too easy, well for me in any case.
I was feeling like a drink then... and funnily enough Tod pulled out of his coat pocket, some dwarven ale! Rocky took it and sniffed it a bit, before taking a gulp. he was standing there with a slight smile, obviously liking the stuff.
Tod had a surprised look on his face, then laughed a bit as he said,
"Ya supposed to fall on your butt, like everyone else!"
Rocky went to hand it back then at about the same time as I asked excitedly,
"Can I take a sip?"
Tod said I could then and watched me drink with a big grin. I sniffed it a bit, then gulped it down! He roared out laughing when I fell on my face!
I actually loved the drink and said,
"Tha's the stuff! Tastes great it does, but feels like a dwarven fighter punching your stomach at the same time!"
Tod nodded saying, "It's one of those things you love and hate at the same time, isn't it?"
I suppose that would get you up in the morning though.. hmm.
Then Tod helped me back up and we made our way back to Old Hempstead.
We were walking along the docks, when we saw Oma Limetree and Snagnor Hornblower walking towards us. We greeted each other and then the five of us went into Scamp's.
Oma then announced (once we'd taken a seat) that she'd buy us all a drink.
I moaned at that... though I wouldn't mind drinking, it wouldn't be very good to be drunk in front of friends. Could be embarrassing..
But I accepted the drink anyway, and took a sip at the Iron Hammer Bock. Tod grimaced, so I don't think he likes that stuff. It's really strong, but quite nutty..
We were all around a small round table and I was resting my sore head on it. I wearily lifted my head at one point, at an attempt to listen to what Oma was saying. I got the gist of it... kind of. She said something about getting a scroll, something about 'Motil', and something about Prunilla.
I was happy enough though, I needed a good adventure, though I warned them saying,
"Don't be surprised if ya'll end up with holes in ya, I've 'ad a coupl'a drinks.."
Oma grinned at that and we made our way out.
I patted my purse and found I didn't quite have enough for a ticket, so Tod gave me two and he saw me rummaging through my pack. He said,
"Don't worry, it's not charity." I knew it wasn't, but it still didn't feel right, accepting free tickets. So I handed him a healing potion for them, wasn't worth the tickets, but hey, I'm not exactly rich.
This is another adventure in Krashin... isn't it? It must be the snow.. or something, they're going to get bored of us after awhile, sorry if it makes you bored, Thistle.

rolls back on the stool laughing, then the book falls to the floor, with a crease now in the corner as she picks it back up to continue

Anyways, off we went, searching for this magic scroll, and we made our way slowly into the alexandrite cave. Tod offered to go in front, as he didn't mind Oma casting her fireballs while he was bashing the groups of gobbos. That worried me a bit though... wouldn't take much for her to miss and fry Tod. He just laughed when I asked if he was sure he didn't get singed.
We searched all the gobbos for this scroll, but we couldn't find it. We started to make our way out and then I noticed Snagnor had fallen behind. I told the rest of them, but Oma said he would catch up. This didn't feel right, but I followed the three anyways. When we got out, I looked back and he still hadn't caught up!
Then Oma called me over.
I protested with, "But we left 'im in there!" I thought to myself,
'Snagnor can probly look after himself, but say gobbos snuck behind him while he was minin' them gems and then they stuck him! And
we
left 'im there!'
I said to Oma, "Let me just go back in there to see."
She shook her head.
"I don't leave friends, don't ya understand?"
She said sorry, but I just sighed and followed. I couldn't do much else.
We fought off some more gobbos, and then Snagnor emerged from the cave.
Oma said, "See Keppli? He caught up." But I wasn't satisfied with that..
Snagnor left us then, he said he had to leave.. can't remember why. Anyways, the four of us carried on until we eventually got to a part even Oma said she hadn't been to. She'd casted something on us to make us invisible, so we kept to the edge and made our way round. When we almost got back to where we started I heard something and Tod started at a run and swung at a gnoll! He was getting seriously wounded, and he was poisoned too so he couldn't run fast. Oma and Rocky stayed where they were.
All reason left me and I ran in, full of determination and anger at the gnoll. I swung at it, and got it to hit me instead, trying to give Tod time to get away. I was quickly getting slashed apart and Tod called my name and I told him to just run! I hobbled away then at last and snuck into a shadow, panting.
I tried to use my last bandage on him, but I was too wounded and it got tangled and fell from my tired hand into the snow.
It was only then, that the rush of pain came to me. I put a hand to my head and blood was on my hand, a big cut was across my forehead. I coughed into a hanky, and dome blood appeared. I hastily stuffed it in a pocket so they would not see.
Tod looked just as bad, but he was already patching himself up, then he put some bandages on me too.
He said,
"Just 'cause I decide t' 'ttack, doesn't mean you should all join in!"
I was surprised at his response but I managed to say,
"An' just leave ya to die?"
We made our way out of there, and I smiled weakly, waving to Tod. (he was going on with Oma, as I went back with the dwarf, to make sure he'd be okay). I called up the hill once more then turned.
And with that I sat on my shield and slid down the big snowy hill, following with cruising back to Hemp, sleeping soundly (with a snore or two) on the way back...
That will have to be all... until next time.

*On the previous page of the journal, a sketch in the top left corner of the page... quite random, of Ben Poetr and Jaelle Thornwood in the kitchen of Scamp's Mug both sitting on crates. Ben is grinning and has a leaf in his hair, while Jaelle is holding a baby, and her face is covered by a hood, on the right of the page looking towards the left.
On the bottom right corner is a quick sketch of Niloc Greenleaf in Hempstead fields, looking quite surprised he's being drawn by a somewhat bored halfling.*

Thistle,
Much has happennned recently, and I'm not sure that I can tell it all now... I suppose I'll tell you my latest adventure.
I was walking through Hempstead (getting used to the city now..) and Rockhead was next to me, we hummed a duet cheerfully.
*thinks as she writes,
'Now when was this... a week ago perhaps? I've forgotten, terrible memory'
.
smiles*
I pushed open the big gates, and there we saw Tod and Layl. I was happy to see them both.. Layl (or Sun in common, I say the Elvish.. she'd prefer it wouldn't she?) I hadn't seen her in a long while, so that was nice. They were looking for a group of people... funny thing was I was too, but I hadn't told the dwarf yet.
I said I didn't know where they were, but Rocky pointed behind the oxes and there they were! How'd he know? Tod and Layl ran across to see them, and we walked on behind.
Then with a pang of realisation I remembered I'd left my journal on the bench from earlier! I told the group this and asked them if they could wait.. they said yes, and the dwarf came with me too.
I ran back once I stuffed it hastily into a pack and luckily, they were still there. We set off as a group.. Me, Tod, Rocky, Layl, Oma Limetree, Daniella Stromhaven.. those I knew.
There was also this man hooded and clad in a dark green, who I cam to know as Elder, the three 'Wardens of Toran' (Nom, Rank and Rit) whom I really hate now. Don't ask..
I think that was it, hopefully I didn't miss anyone out.. apart from the clerics who traveled with us, that is.
Anyway, when we got there, there was this guy called Nottalor. He started to tell us of his dream, a dream where old men shook spears at each other or something. We had to try and solve it.
By the hells! I can't even remember the name of Nottalor's people. Ah well.
The
other
tribe were the Avners in any case.
I was getting bored, and tip-toed to see over the group. They spent too much time arguing, I just wanted to get on with it. Then Elder said he shared the same dream, so he and Nottalor walked away and talked. We waited.
The wardens couldn't stay still and Rank kept going up to Rit and saying,
"Sir yes sir!" Or "Sir, whats orders sir?"
I gritted my teeth and couldn't take this anymore... when I get angry, I get angry. When Rank said the latter, I stood up and burst out with,
"How 'bout you SHUT UP! I've 'ad just about enough with all this 'yes sir'!"
Everyone looked to me, even Tod peeked round the building (he went to eavesdrop on Elder). Oma started laughing then, I had a feeling she was thinking something similar to me.
Anyway, we made our way to the valleys.. blah, blah. The stupid wardens kept rushing ahead, but after awhile I just ignored them, I didn't care anymore.
Then we came upon tigers. I rushed ahead, and I calmed it down.. then arrows stuck in it, and I could see the rage come back into its eyes. It slashed me.. was ripping me apart. Those fools!
The others hacked it down off me, but the damage had been done. I fell to the ground and I was lying in a pool of blood soon, moaning in pain.
It was lucky that they bandaged me up quick as they did, and I slowly got to my feet.
I glanced across at the tiger corpse and a glint of sadness passed in my eyes. I turned to the others and got their attention.
"I 'ad that one calmed! Don't you see? Ya almost got me killed, and the tiger killed too... and for what? To quench your bloodthirsty needs?" I protested.
They didn't seem convinced though.. and I sighed. Why am I bothering to try? Why would they listen to me? They carried on, and Tod looked back and waited for me to trudge on behind.
Tod would scout ahead and lure the giant spideys ahead, and we smooshed them. The wardens found a hole, and were questioning it. I knew they were dumb, but thats obviously where the spideys came out of.
I just muttered,
'Yeh, hopin' ya fall down et..'
*chuckles to herself*
This went on, until we finally made it to the Avner camp. It took a lot of talking, but finally both tribes agreed to be at peace, if we could pass their test. We had to clear out this valley or something...
They were going to get Tod to go scout again. I thought I'd make an excuse to go with him... be some back-up ya know? No-one should go alone, in case they get seen... or something. I thought of a good one in time too, I said I could sneak and that should there be any more tigers, I could calm them. Daniella seemed to think this a good idea, and she nodded.
So me and Tod scouted ahead, keeping close to the trees. I gulped.. We saw about twenty harpies, all along the hills!
So we went back and told them the news. We went ahead then, to try and clear them. We did the luring thing again, to be on the safe side. It was working too!
Then one ran ahead, and Tod followed. I gripped my sword and ran forward to slash at the group of attacking harpies. They saw me, and slashed back with long talons. It was getting bad.. harpies were firing arrows too.
I had to move back, I was getting badly hurt, and I pulled out my bow and shot one in the head, it went down. I glanced across, Tod was still there! I turned my bow and notched an arrow for the one attacking him...
The arrow never fired. Because I turned my bow to his attacker.. I never paid attention to the others. I couldn't tell what was going on, only that everything blacked out suddenly and I felt searing pain in my ribs... I fell to the floor.
Suddenly I woke again, gasping for air and my eyes darted about startled. Bending over me was a cleric, and a very relieved looking dwarf.
Turns out the cleric raised me back to life... I turned to thank him, but he was already gone.
I glanced back and saw Daniella helping Tod up, he was thrashing about.. looking just as startled as I did. Tears welled in my eyes. He died too? So I failed to help... I looked at my bow and took the arrow out. I cursed myself.. I kept thinking, I could have fired that arrow! But maybe I couldn't. Who knows.
Anyways, we made it back safe to Hemp eventually... and life continues.
The two tribes were at peace, at least we achieved that.

I'm sorry... this is late in writing, Thistle, but I've been a bit shaken lately. I'll try my best to recite this tale, which I have already spoken twice, so it has probably spread all round by now.
It was one day, like any other, and I decided to help Tod gather some things for Tegan... he had to get lot of stuff, even Rocky agreed people pushed him too hard. Anyways, he kept saying it could get me some money, but I wasn't bothered about that. Friendship is always above that.
We were picking raspberries outside of Krandor. Tod bent down to pick them, when suddenly I saw something, coming towards us. It looked like a gobin, but it was hard to see through the rain. I told him to look out, but when he turned, it ran. We walked back to the path and looked about. Suddenly, this darkness, like the blackest fog, spreads in front of us....
... and out runs two women! They had bright red eyes, black clothing and big swords dripping with horrible acid. I think.. thier hair was white, but I can't remember.
I could see the hatred in their eyes, and we ran across the bridge! They were too big for us. I looked back, and they were gone! I told Tod and he turned round and said he'd go look for them. There was no need...
We saw the darkness spread across the bridge. That's what chilled me... that you just saw this darkness, but not anything inside, but you knew they followed..
We ran on, past Zainge River and into Ft. Llast, desperate to get some help.
I dashed in and closed the gates. I thought they might turn back, but no. After hardly any rest, we saw the darkness floating outside the gate!
We shouted to Lieutenant Jursen, telling him they were right out there! He ignored us.. saying it was just the mischief us halflings were making.
He was a guard! It was job to protect! He wouldn't even check... how could he do that? I looked across and I think Tod was thinking the same.
We were in some luck then... Q ran up to us and asked what was going on. Lavender was there too. (Quantum Windword, that is, of The Shining Hand.)
At least they helped us talk sense into Jursen, and he posted some guards round the walls. Q walked out the gate.. and looked around carefully. Tod said he knew a lot about deaders, so if any of us could find them, he could.
Q was taking awhile... and I felt I had to help, not just cower behind the gates!
I walked out, Tod shouted for me to come back, but I carried on.. I think he followed then. Q was looking round Llast, but I thought they could be back near the river...
I stopped at two blood pools that were on the ground. I thought.. maybe thats those two women... I was mistaken. The darkness was creeping along the path..
Tod and Q had caught up to me by then. My eyes widened fearfully.
Deaders ran out of the darkness toward us! More than two... nearer to twenty!
Q hacked at them with a sword, and I fired some arrows to try and keep them away from Tod and Q. They were both getting battered, and I fired at the ones getting Tod. I shouted to him, to get behind me, but I'm not sure he heard. They were surrounding Q then... I wasn't sure how long he'd last.
I stopped breathing for a moment...
a skeleton it looked like... but glowing green, and holding what looked like a glowing green falchion, was running at me. I pulled out my sword and went to stab it desperately.
I gasped and my sword never reached. I looked down...
and saw the falchion had gone through my stomach and blood dripped on the floor...
Darkness clouded my eyes and I fell to the ground..
Suddenly my eyes were opened and I gasped in some air, looking about startled. What was happening? I saw the guards, too late they came.
They'd raised me back to life. I put a hand to my stomach.. the hole had healed.
I got up and saw Tod standing on the path in front of me. I glanced about. All the deaders were gone... but Q was gone too.
I walked across and we saw a bag... sitting in a pool of blood. Tod said he would check it for traps.. there weren't any because he reached into it and pulled out some gauntlets, he glanced to the guards and they gasped.
They were gauntlets of the Shining Hand.... Q's gloves!
I called across to Tod. I told him, that I thought maybe Q was kidnapped. He said that he probably would have been killed outright, but then he thought I might have been right after some thinking. He thinks that they've been taken by followers of Corath... as they would hate Q for being a Toranite. So, maybe they took him to a temple of Corath, or the crypts in Krandor.
I felt useless, he fought off so many, and I fell to one.
I decided that the two of us
have
to find him! It's the least I owe him...
Unfortunately, Krandor Crypts have been searched more than once.. and no success... Where is he? Is he even still alive? So many questions bother me.
Tod says he still has nightmares... and I would be lying if I said I didn't too...

*dips the quill in green ink and writes in slightly quicker and larger writing than usual*
Written on Wedlar, Oclar 4, 1437
Quite a bit has happened recently. Nothing unusual there!
I was telling a while back, the story of those vampire women (think they're vampires anyways..) and of Q going missing. Yeh, you know what I'm on about.
I got to the bit where the deader stuck me, but I couldn't explain very well what it looked like. Think about it, the thing ran out and killed me... in seconds, I wasn't wondering 'Oh what weapon is that thats going through me?' or 'Whats Mr. Deader's fashion sense today?'
So, this girl... Taliera I think her name was, summons up this skellyton.
Now, I don't like deaders as much as the next person, but she was helping me, right?
Aerimor went berserk and beat it to a pulp, then he said she should go to court or something... she looked genuinly shocked!
I said it didn't harm anyone... so no harm done. It seemed that noone saw it my way, and Aerimor was getting real mad at me, and saying I supported necromancy.
Then, Lorn'lin stood up from the shadows, and stood next to me. He said then,
"If you say she supports necromancy, then I say she supports balance."
I didn't expect that... after all, why do that for me? I was shocked, but thankful for that.
He is good with words, I'll give him that. He put Aerimor at one point, to a question he wouldn't answer, he just ignored him.
It all ended well though... kinda.
Aerimor doesn't seem to be angry at me anymore though... 'least thats good.
Recently too, I came upon his brother, Verideth, and Tod. We were in the same spot as when I told the tale. The camp in the Goblin Wastelands.
I said hello to them both, I was happy to see them!
(By the way, I'd just saved Rocky's butt! Closer to being a real hero, right? Well... maybe.)
Anyways... Ver just looked down at me and said I was marked by the druid council. I mean, really! I ain't done nothing wrong! Those druids... I thought of them as friends, but now they hate me!
Huh, I'm not worried anyway, I can take care of myself! They wouldn't kill me or anything... and they're not right anyway.
You don't have friends because of what they are, like a druid and a ranger... but because of their personalities! That's what matters, don't it? I mean.. me and Rocky are so different, but we are still friends..
And some of my friends grew up in the city, while I grew up in the forest.
I know this speech may be boring you, Thistle.. but I won't be long, promise.
*smiles to herself and pauses to think awhile and nibble a berry before continuing*
Someday... I will be as strong and brave as a bear, just like Chestnut told me I was! I might not be so strong yet... but I won't give up! Not for a moment.

*wakes up and yawns, then realises she fell asleep in the Angel's Guild Hall, and pulls out her journal in one hand, while munching some nuts in the other*
Okay... how to start this... well. Last night was, one of the best days of my life I'd say. There was such a happy feeling, and it was funny too! (Rocky's getting better all the time..) Everyone just had a really great time.
Me and Rocky met Tod outside the front door, and we all wore our purple outfits, I have to say, we all looked great! It was nice too, the three of us hadn't been together in a long while. We walked down the hall, and then came to the big room. There was a man who greeted us, he was wearing a red robe, and an.. ogre head? A fairy whizzed round us too, made me dizzy.. Anyway, as soon as he spoke, I wiggled my ear a bit and smiled. I could tell it was Ben! He went "Sssh! Don't tell, shorty". I just winked and said "Not a word".
We walked in a bit more, and there were others too, all the costumes were so amazing! As soon as Essa told me where the pie was, I rushed over. It was like pie heaven... apple, blueberry, cherry, pecan...
*drools a bit on the page, then hastily rubs it*
Anyways, it was delicious stuff.
*writes in a different ink colour saying 'Must thank Essa for the pie'*
I started laughing, when Tod came over and did the same thing!
Anyways, we walked round talking to different people, when Tod went over to Elgon (as a blooming massive elemental!!) and asked,
" Can you lift me up so I can see everyone?"
Elgon picked him up, and I craned my neck to look up at them, I shouted up,
" Well ya better not drop him! I've acted as cushion enough times already!"
I guess that was not the right thing to say, because just as Elgon went to set him down... he dropped him, with a gravelly 'Oooops', and he fell on top of me. I'm surprised my back isn't broken yet, but I suppose Tod would have broken a lot more, had I not been the cushion.
*laughs as she dips some more ink on the quill*
Then Tod asked me to dance, which I was quite.. well, surprised at, but I nodded and tried it anyways, clumsily trying to do what everyone else was doing. I thought I was doing okay, but then I tripped over his foot. I haven't danced before, so I was nervous about it.
Later on, Tod asked Daniella to dance. I watched them, and Daniella was good at it, and she looked really pretty in that golden princessy dress she wore. I thought, maybe if I watch Daniella, I'd be better at it, you know?
It was as I was thinking that when everything went dark. I looked about, wondering what on earth was going on, then it went bright again, and they all clapped for Storold.
I smiled then, silly for me to panic and all, but then again, whenever I see magical darkness it reminds me of...*stops and goes onto a new line*
Anyways, when Daniella and Tod finished dancing, Daniella grabbed Tods hand and dragged him over to me, asking why he wasn't dancing with me.
I guess I was kinda grateful, I could never have asked him myself.
So we tried dancing along to the music again, and he twirled me round and I laughed, I was getting the hang of it, and was enjoying myself.
Shortly afterwards, Rocky announced we were to begin our act. I gulped, I was so nervous about this, but me and Tod went to step either side of the dwarf. He gave a introduction speech, and said " Get ready for.. Two halves and a pint!"
He sang his first song, a sad one about a battle. Me and Tod then did some tumbling, I think he was better though. I fell on my back when I did the backflip. It hurt, but I got up hurriedly, I couldn't mess it up for the other two.
I heard a yell from the back of the audience, "GO, SHORTY!" I knew it was Ben and grinned, that seemed to renew my confidence a bit and we went on with the tumbling.
Then Rocky came to his rude song, the one he'd been working on for a long time. So, Thistle, I know you'll laugh loud at me, but well, so long as everyone else is happy. His song went like this...
'There is an inn in Old hempstead, they call it Scampi's Mug, and its been the ruin of many a poor dwarf, says I, please pass the jug!
Now Keppli, she's a halfling child, who likes a drink or two, so pass the ale and watch her drink, if you can stand the true.
And Tod's a fashion conscious guy, who very rearely dies, 'cos he's got suits of black and blue, equipped with swords and pies!
Ben Poetr's a cheeky chap, who runs round crafting stuff, but watch out in the crafting hall, 'cos he crafts in the buff!
Hedessa she's a feisty one, Priestess and healer too, I once her asked her for sound advice, she said Moo, moo, moo, moo!'
I roared out laughing, as well as everyone else, it was so hilarious! I'm sure Rocky will be a well-known bard now, just like he's always wanted to be. (Hope he doesn't mind me writing it down, but if I ever forget...)
Tod did some amazing juggling too, I felt like I let the other two down somewhat, but the crowd cheered for us all nonetheless! I was so happy then, as I looked through the crowd.
We bowed then Rocky cast a spell to make the three of us vanish, as our exit. As the three of us walked down the hall, Tod asked for one last dance. I wanted too, but I was so tired I wanted to collapse on the spot! So he just gave me a hug, and said thanks for coming. I smiled and patted his back, then waved and walked down the hall. He shouted as I walked to find Rocky saying, " Talk to you an' Rocky later!"
I smiled and was about to walk out to see the dwarf, when I must have fallen asleep in the hallway...
*scratches her head and stands up off the floor*
Wonder if the pie is still there...
-Keppli
*grins and closes the journal*

*leans against the tree and gazes silently at the stars above, scratching Lythar's ears as he bends his head over her, as if watching what she's about to write, a glimmer of knowing in his amber eyes. She doesn't seem to be in the usual jolly mood, but more thoughtful*

Well... I've been on my own a lot lately. Apart from recently when me'n Rocky decided to do some more exploring...
With Rasa as a guide we found the entrance to Storan's crypt, and I peered through the iron bars which was the gate, curiously. He wouldn't go any further, he said it was too dangerous. I looked back to Rocky and he nodded, he wanted to see what was in there too. I motioned for Lythar to follow us, but he wasn't even looking at me. He whimpered and turned and fled... I tried to call him back, he didn't listen.
I cleared my throat, not much could scare Lythar... must be something pretty bad to scare him off like that. I turned to the gate and strode in nonetheless, with a slightly unnerved dwarf close behind. I kept close to the wall, and hid as I edged along it. I just wanted a quick look... that was all.. just a look, then we'd come out...
I walked into the first room and gulped, there were scallywags... shadows that were shaped like people...
Suddenly out from nowhere strode in Elgon, swiping at a skeleton with a longsword, I turned and let loose an arrow from my bow to help out.
I turned to the rest and then froze. This thing... I later found out as a boh-dak, screamed at me. I was panicking and before I knew it, all feeling left me. I fell to the cold, stone floor.
Those things scare me now, almost as much as those vampires did...
I later found out that Rocky fell too... and it's all my fault.
Next time, I'll tell him to stay back, we'll come better prepared. I remember saying to myself a long time ago, in my head,
'My friends are the family I have now, since mine are gone, and I will protect them with my life. I will prove myself, even though I couldn't save you Thistle...'
Never again should I lead Rocky somewhere just because I'm curious.
I knew it was going to be dangerous, so why did I go on?
Maybe I'll never know, but I won't fail again.
I'll keep getting stronger and stronger, then they'll call me a hero, and I'll finally get some respect!

*Keppli is sitting on a soft bale of hay in Stormcrest, resting by the campfire after a long adventure. An old looking pipe hangs out the side of her mouth as she smokes the forest pipeweed. She closes her eyes for a moment, relaxing in the twilight when a voice speaks in her head..
"I saw a man once who smoked too much, and he had yellow teeth! Ya don't smoke too much do you Keppli? Just promise me it won't be an everyday thing.."
She smiles and stops smoking, proceeding to pocket her pipe.
"Alright then, Tod.."
she mutters while looking into the flames, the light flickering in her large green eyes.
She takes out her precious journal and begins writing in the green ink, seemingly back to her jolly mood.*
Written- Threas, Seplar 5, 1438
I had an interesting day the other day! Gala was giving me'n Rocky a tour of her house, and was I shocked! It's massive, and I thought Ben's house looked expensive! She even had her own horsey called Rimfrost, it was really beautiful too. Perhaps I can persuade her to let me ride her horse sometime... hmm...
I was still looking around wide-eyed, when we suddenly heard a knock at the door. Gala went to get it, but I ran ahead shouting " I got it! "
She laughed, and I pulled open the door, and it was Ben! I said hello, then we went on a tour all over again for Ben. He had the same reaction of me when stepping inside... just saying, "Woah."
*laughs to herself then looks around thinking she laughed a bit too loud.*
Anyway, we talked a bit, and then Ben said something about needing people for an adventure. Guess he came to the right halfling! I was kinda sad to leave Gala's cushion mountain, but I guess adventure is more exciting!
When me, Rocky and Ben finally made it to Silkwood, we edged round close to the trees but suddenly two cockatrices appeared. One just... looked at Ben and he froze! They started to move towards him, so I grabbed my sword and dashed in front of the frozen Ben, hacking at them. When I got them, I panted, then looked up and my eyes widened. In front of me was a big ogre, grunting. I tried to protect the other two, and I stabbed the ogre, but then it whacked my head with a big club, and I fell to the ground. I'm not sure what happened to Rocky then... but I think he was okay.
I eventually made my way back to my stone, with their help, then we set up a campfire and rested awhile. Gala trotted up to us on her horse, and I smiled.
The four of us then... made our way through swamps, and a large cave... then halfway through the cave, we saw Snagnor running behind us followed by a troll. I grinned and waved, good to see Snaggy again and well... the more the merrier I say!
We fought through lots of trolls and such... but the one moment I won't forget was when Snaggy took out his horn and blew it to make Ben dance.
I ended up laughing hysterically, you should have seen Ben's face. He grit his teeth and said he was going to beat up Snaggy or something. We all told Snag to run while he could so he backed off a bit and turned invisible.
*the writing is shaking slightly as she chuckles to herself as she writes*
Eventually he showed himself though, and I had to stand between the two, or Ben might punch him or something... and I'd rather Snaggy
didn't
have a nosebleed right now.
Then Gala said that trolls pick off people who stray too far from the group, and they would eat me if I didn't stay with them.
I said, "Well, I ain't on the menu!"
I grinned, no ugly troll is making a meal out of me, thats for sure!
Anyways... it was a fun trip, though tiring, and I waved to the group as they walked away, smiling cheerfully. I stretched out and yawned, sitting back down on the log at Stormcrest Crossroads.

*Keppli is sitting on a thick branch of an apple tree by the Rusty River, slowly munching a bright red apple and leaning against the solid trunk, she tosses the core over her shoulder, and pulls out her old journal, and a quill, dipping it in that forest green colour.*
Written on Satari, Jenra 28, 1439
The search for Q is on! No more sitting round worrying, I'm gonna find that guy. It's the least I owe him. After all, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been the only got that ... err... kicked the bucket on that horrid day.
Daniella didn't look particularly pleased when me and Tod gave her the 'evidence' (a stale piece of pie...). Tod frowned, apparently we might have made things worse rather than helping. Daniella said they found the 'Apple pie man'. Dead. So much for another clue... Tod yelled at her saying it might be all illusion, and you know what they're like. Then he pulled a face, I think he regreted yelling at her. He's right though, and I announced that we ain't giving up. If everyone else is, I'll still go looking for The Shining Hand on my own! Oh yes, we were at Plen's storytelling at the time. I'm really thankful that Tod took me there now, it was fantastic!
The fireworks there were breathtaking as well. I'd never seen such a thing before, but it was like fire shooting up into the sky, higher and higher, like a mighty phoenix... then BOOM! Down came a shower of sparkles, all so bright and colourful like wild flowers. When it was over, I went to sit by Tod again for the next story, I was glad he was there (and Rocky later) as a few of the people there... I wouldn't sit by. Also because those two are very close friends to me now. That Plenarius fellow tells stories so well, so maybe Rockhead will use some of those.. how do you put it... speaking skills? I'm also curious as to how that guy has wings... must be great to have wings.
Anyways, back to the 'evidence'. I managed to ask the two of them (Tod and Rocky) to see if we could go search out Q on our own. After all, me and Tod were the witnesses, we have as much reason to go looking as the Toranites do...
So we went out to explore the Ire mountains, hacking through gnolls, sneaking through elemental caves, ( err.. avoiding some crazy chickens...) climbing up and up, searching everywhere!
We finally made it up the steps past Lover's Lake, and took some deep breaths. I climbed up a big tree that had no leaves, and looked sort of... twisted. I got right to the top and looked out for any signs. Tod yelled up to ask and I shook my head. Then I saw him grin and start to clamber up the tree beside me, I tried to move away to make room for him to come up, but I slipped and started to fall, but he managed to grab my arm in time so I could catch my balance!
*sighs relief, and chuckles a bit, dipping the quill in the ink*
I blushed a bit and blinked as the wind blew strong into my eyes, then turned my gaze down the tree. Rocky wasn't there! I looked farther away and saw the purple figure dashing away round the edge of a wall. We climbed down hurriedly, and I felt a but stupid, I had almost forgotten him for a moment. How could that happen, I wonder? We ran after him and when we got there, he was just standing in front of this sack. Tod moved slowly towards it, then cautiously put a hand into the sack, pulling something out. I was so curious and jumped up in an effort to see it, and I eventually did! Tod said he would keep hold of it... and promised not to eat it.
*laughs to herself and shifts her position a bit, still leaning against the trunk*
And thats about it really, I promise to write to you again soon Thistle, but for now, I have to go make my way back to Mariner's.
May Longstrider keep us safe, as the three of us continue our search.

*plops down on a hill on the outskirts of Vehl and yawns, glancing to the corn next to her then deciding to pull out her journal before she forgets*
Written on Mulnari, Jular 9, 1439
Well, recently I haven't seen much of anybody around really, I been mostly wandering round alone...
It was quite quiet in Hempstead that day, unusual really as it's often full of busy people rushing around the place. I'd just made a panther cloak and I pulled it out my bag to look at it again. I'm just surprised I managed to make anything at all! Oh, yes, anyways the cloak was for this gnome... I made it for him because he looked poor, I think he was new to this town, and I know how that's like. Me and Rocky call him kooky zooky, and he's actually really annoying!
He shoves me AND called me Miss! No-one gets away with that!
I think he’s learning now though, since I kicked his butt into a pond.
*chuckles to herself*
So, then I showed him to the craft hall and everything, and then I saw Aerimor. I grinned and waved to him, but he looked wooden and wasn't waving back. I walked up right in front of him and waved a hand in front of his eyes, but still no response. Then I knew!
He must be meditating like Verideth did before. That was when I thought something evil or something was possessing Ver and I had to snap him outta what spell had been put on him!
SPLOOOSH!
I chucked buckets of water at him, until he said "What are you doing?" (or something along those lines)
While I shouted joyfully, "It worked!" Then noticing him annoyed, and him saying he was resting.... I explained and he said it was okay.
But what if Aerimor was possessed...?
SPLOOOSH!
I chucked the bucket of water at Aerimor. Funny that, it always seems to work!
Then Rocky walked in and gave me an odd look, and after awhile he asked if the three of us wanted to go to bash some kobbos outside Hemp so the gnome could practice some spells. I sighed and waved to Aerimor, and we made our way to their camp, and easily fought our way through it. Then we turned from the end and suddenly another kobold appeared in front of us. It was holding a short sword that dripped acid, and these strange blue lights, like little stars flew around it. It smiled and disappeared. I twirled my blade and looked around for it, it kept appearing and disappearing.
I shouted, "Come out ya coward!"
After awhile it did, then
FOOOSH!
, a bright light appeared, then in its place stood Aerimor grinning.
"It was you all 'long?!? What did ya do that for, I coulda stuck ya!" I told Aerimor. I didn't get it, that was a really silly thing to do. Then he did some counter-spell or something with the gnome, and then Rocky said he had to go, so I went along with him back to town.
Maybe I'll see someone else walking my way soon; it's been awhile... maybe I've been wandering too much lately? I hope they're not having some kind of big adventure without me!

*sits on a bench in Hempstead, humming a quiet song to herself and takes out the old journal once more, writing slowly in slanted, quite neat handwriting in green ink*
Written on Tunar, Seplar 17, 1439
I was at Leringard the other day, inside the Leringard Arms Inn, I hadn't been inside there before, it was very cosy, but still quite spacious. I went in with a group of people, including Tod, Rocky, uhh.. Sala, Alatriel, Amanda,
*taps the page as she remembers who was there... or tries to*
Lavender came later on, but there was also a half-orc and a red-headed dwarf, called groaning, or something like that anyways.
Anyhow, we were all there to have a talk with Steel who was making us a proposal. I'm not sure I've seen this Steel before, but he seems quite ...noble, and the name suits him, as he seemed to be wearing armor made of plated metal. I took a seat next to Tod (and Rocky opposite me) at a small round table, which had a lilac tablecloth, and a small candle in the middle. I watched the candle flame flicker as Steel spoke. Apparently, armies of men and dragons are gathering or something, and he wants some help to get some answers, even in death we might be enlightened with something. To go into the dragons lair, that's what he asked of us. It was quiet, and it seemed not many were keen to go. But the thoughts in my mind just went like..:
'Oooh, dragons, always wanted to see one, I'll finally get to, wow! An' it sounds like a really exciting adventure, I just
gotta
go!'
I chuckled and then realised I'd shouted this aloud instead of keeping quiet. I would have said so at some point I suppose! Then the half-orc and the red-headed dwarf just.. well... doubted me I guess. Nobody should ever underestimate me for my size, I'll show them! People must think I'm stupid or something, maybe I am, but at least I have the guts and the spirit to go help, even if I can't help as much as I'd like.
I actually thought I'd be the only one going along, judging by how negative everybody sounded. But then Tod said he'd go too, because he's always wanted to see a dragon too! I smiled widely, glad to know I wasn't the only one, and him saying he was determined too, made me even more determined and willing to help! The half-orc and the red dwarf started saying how we could be dragon food... and that annoyed me, surely we're more use than that! I mean, sure I would be a dragon snack, if it meant saving a friend... but then Amanda reassured me that nobody really wanted that. Even Lavender started doubting us and all... I just grinned, she's not going to stop me, we're going to do this for sure! We halflings might get some respect then, even just a little bit, you never know. And it'll be an adventure to remember, Rocky even said he'd write a song or something, looking forward to hearing it!
Well I know one thought of a gift for the dragon (to avoid getting fried) which Tod said before I could (I was thinking the same, I swear!)
" We should bring a pie, a rather large one. "
*draws a small picture of a pie with a smaller dragon next to it and chuckles softly*

*takes a small gulp of some green forest draft, before taking out her old journal and a quill, dipping it in the green ink.*
Written on Threas, Decilar 5, 1439 ... sometime in the afternoon.
I was walking down the cobble path in Hempstead, humming away cheerfully. Then I saw Tod, and Gala just coming out of the Angel's Guild. I grinned widely and waved to them, it was great to see them both again. Gala then said something about going somewhere and ran off before we could reply. I scratched my head then looked to Tod, and we both followed her to the square.
We talked a bit then POOF! Everyone disappeared, but a moment later we all appeared with a purple dwarf grinning. Of course it was him, he always has to make a big entrance! *chuckles to herself*
Alatriel and Lavender appeared not long after, we were talking about checking out the mines in Haven. I got a bit distracted, watching those... err... what Gala calls Ioun stones, yeh, I was watching them whizz around Tod for awhile, they're amazing! Guess I missed some of the converstion though.. Gala was motioning a lady sitting on a bench to come across, and she did just that. Apparently she was a Xeenite, called Bree, but I know Essa and she's nice so I thought it would be alright. We all told her our names... although Tod was being a bit quiet, then Bree bent down and looked at Tod exclaiming, "What's your name cutie?"
He went red and then they started embarrasing him some more. I got really angry at them then, and yelled out "A'right, stop winding him up already!"
Then Bree turned to look at me now, and just grinned saying, "Hey you're pretty cute too!" I blushed, maybe she was just being nice and all, but I still felt a bit... abashed.
Anyways, we all made it to Haven and then descended into the dark mines. Gala was out in front, with Lavender behind. Then me, Tod and Alatriel stayed in the middle, Gala said that way we could shoot arrows from the side or stick the enemies with swords. Rocky brought up the rear, he sang songs to keep our spirits up, and cast his spells.
Lavender looked back at us, her sword leaning on her shoulder and just said, "Right, all you without shields,
stay behind me
!"
I looked down at my sword and shield and raised my eyebrows. So, if things got outta hand I could overtake her right?
We were doing fine, making our way through the groups of gnolls, getting lower and lower down in the cavern, until we came to another doorway. Gala just stood there, and I could see a gnoll noticed us. It started to run towards us, but nobody moved a musle! I clenched my teeth and twirled my blade, then dashed out and plunged my sword into one, and fell. It took me awhile to pull my sword out and by the time I did, one stabbed my shoulder and I let out a cry of pain. I could see the others battling around me, but I was getting seriously hurt. I whipped round, hoping if I could get a distance from the gnoll, I could shoot it from a distance. BAM! I ran straight into another gnoll that was behind me. It grunted and dealt a massive blow to my head. Darkness clouded my vision, and I lost all feeling, slumping to the ground.
The next thing I know my eyes open again, and I coughed looking up just to see Lavender and Rocky at the doorway. Turns out Gala had saved me, I really owe her for that. I made my way slowly into the next room, where the others just finished dealing with the gnolls. I sighed, I guess even when I tried to help, I just let them down in the end. Rocky ran across and smiled at me. I looked around, anxious to know if everyone was alright. If someone was hurt and I wasn't there to help.....But then Tod appeared from the shadows next to me grinning and gave me a hug. I just smiled back, I didn't feel so useless then as I did a moment ago. I guess I'm lucky to have such caring friends.
Later on, when we finally made it out, we delivered the head of the Gnoll leader to Haven castle and waved as we each made our own way. I walked and hummed over to Ben's house. Guess I should visit him... haven't seen him for a long while... Ooh maybe I should give him some of my whiskey, he likes that stuff I think.

*jumps up onto a small stone wall in Vehl docks, watching the chickens clucking before she pulls out the old journal once more, as she begins to write, it looks rushed, so much so, that it seems like she's trying to cram as much writing on the parchment as she can*
Written on Wedlar, Apreal 11, 1440
Much has happened since I last wrote. We traveled far, through mazes and tunnels to rescue a tortured Q from madness (Yes, we finally did it! Hooray!). I crept with a group into a dark cave in the Rift, fighting through dark elves, mutant spidery dark elves and even this big spider thing called a bebilith! (I mean
really
big!) At one point though, I fell, and when my eyes opened, I saw some of the group looking very grim. I looked around anxiously, and asked what was going on. Arkolio, Iellwen ad Trouble... where had they gone?
Then one said sadly,
"Trouble has fallen for the last time, Keppli".
I was stunned. No! He died, and... I couldn't do anything about it. How useless was I...?
Then for awhile, I didn't see many people around... Don't think Hempstead had ever been as quiet as then.
Just the other day, I saw this short man in Vehl, I was with Rocky at the time. I'd seen him once before, passed him by when I was traveling. He wore dark green and had a squeaky voice... probably a gnome or something. Anyways, his name was Grovel, and he was a druid. He was saying that he was waiting for his friends Nonac and Mangle, who eventually came.
They were a pack going hunting and they invited us along, it seemed like fun so I went. Grovel thought it was an omen, that I loved wolves, Rocky is 'Howling Wolf'... so we were all like a wolf pack together.
We sailed to Dragon Isles, I remember when I first traveled there, a long, long time ago, I was uncomfortable round all those people back then as I had only recently arrived in the town. That was when I first met Ben and he described me as,
'a small person with a big mouth'
.
*chuckles to herself and dips the quill in some more ink*
Anyways, back to the point. I stepped off the boat, and then howled loudly, smiling when I saw Lythar dashing towards me, and I greeted him with an ear scratch. I turned my head and then saw Grovel do the same thing, and his wolf called Tum Tum trotted up to him. I grinned as Lythar started barking to the other wolf, and then we set off through the tall forests. It reminded me of old times, being in a pack. It was great that there was no leader, instead of relying on one person, we all relied on each other, and our skills.
Grovel and Mangle took the lead, with me and Nonac behind, and sometimes overtaking to scout, then Rocky at the back singing in his deep voice to keep our spirits up.
At one point though, I was surrounded by minotaurs, and I hacked at them all I could but I was getting slashed badly. Just at the point where I thought I was finished, the others fought the three surounding me until they fell.
They said I was a good scout, that I didn't run and I fought to the death! They said I was welcome to their pack.
My eyes sparkled then, have I ever got such praise? I was thankful to them anyways, that they didn't see me as just another pick-pocket, as quite a lot of people have done.
It was a great adventure anyways, and we sailed back to Vehl, listening to Rocky's song on the way back.
We talked a bit, then this man walked up to us, a symbol of Deliar, as Rocky spotted, hanging from his belt. He said his name was Idoran Mossfeild, he looked over all of us then I noticed he was staring at me.
He squinted and said,
"Aren't you Tod's friend?"
I started to panic a bit then, I don't know this guy.
I asked him this and he grinned replying,
"I wouldn't forget that lime-green."
There must be something wrong with his eyesight though... this is
obviously
Forest Green
!

*chuckles and chucks up a salmon to a griffon flapping not too far from her. It snaps up the fish instantly, swallowing it whole and squawks loudly. She sits on the grassy hill and smiles up to it, then opens carefully the old journal on her lap.*
Written on Mulnari, Jular 2, 1440
It's been quiet round here still, though I still wander the lands. I was walking through Wayfare humming to myself, I think it was one of Rocky's tunes...
Anyway, I gave a small wave to kitkit, I could do with a bit of true. I emptied my pockets out and looked through, but there wasn't much I would give away... but wait, what about pocket lint? I held it out with a grin, but she shook her head. Then I heard this voice behind me saying it was ridiculous.
I didn't recognise that voice, so I turned my head slowly to see a man grinning. He wore dark green clothing and held a big walking stick, that looked like a long branch.
Well, I hadn't seen him around before, so I grinned and held out a hand to introduce myself. His name's Maran, later called Moron by Rocky...
*chuckles softly to herself then the griffon flaps his wings faster, lowering down to look over her shoulder to see the journal. She squawks back to it and pushes its head gently away with a grin, and it flies back up the hill*
I talked to him for awhile, turns out he's a follower of the Longstrider too, that's nice to know I spose. He won't mind Lythar then, I know that.
Not long after, this halfling walked up to us squeaking 'Niccy!'.
I smiled and then went to introduce myself all over again, her name's Rose Overhill or something. Or was it Underhill? Nevermind.
My stomach started growling again, talk about bad timing. I didn't want to be rude for once, but then Maran turned round to see the children playing by the tents. That was my chance! I snuck a slice of pie out from my cloak and stuffed it in my mouth, licking my lips, then hastily wiping my crumbs off my armor. He just turned round then, as I was wiping my face with my sleeve, and I looked up and gave a big grin, trying to look innocent.
. . . I think I got away with it.
And that's when we set off ! Finally I've been needing some action!
We journeyed up the Ire Moutains, battling our way through the dogm- I mean gnolls. I had just stuck one and was pulling my sword out, when I saw a shaman casting a spell out the corner of my eye, I dashed over to it, but it was too late. A fireball whooshed over towards Maran, and he was shouting something like
"Ack, burny, burny!"
Luckily I had some bandages I'd sewed just a couple days back. Maran then hobbled across to some purple mushrooms and picked them all, I wonder if they're poisonous, or people don't eat them because they're not tasty? Hmm..
We rested for a short while, I curled up next to Lythar, the both of us sleeping like logs, then I sat up with a yawn, to see the others already awake. Maran waved his stick saying
"Nice doggie..."
I smiled, most people would be afraid of Lythar, probly why I don't see him as often as I'd like to.
Rose asked where we were going, and I scratched my head. I don't really plan anything so it's not a good idear to ask me. Maran shook his head saying he was just following us. Right then! I licked my fingertip and stuck it in the air and felt a cool breeze blowing north. I lowered my arm so it pointed north, and shouted entusiastically,
"We go that way!"
They just shrugged and followed me.
Polly came along later too, I hadn't seen her since I met her and Tugs, the time when an ogre was gonna eat Tugs and I saved the day by giving it some meat instead!
I don't think she remembered though. It was good to see her again though. Although... she did say she'd heard of me and Rocky from Leringard, I was surprised, why would anyone hear of... me? Rocky . . . maybe, but he's a bard.
Maran spoke then, saying we should move on as we were still in the gnoll lands. I nodded in agreement, but then Rose stopped hugging Polly and said to stop interupting her nice little chat. I narrowed my eyes, she was so... I dunno, arrogant! I didn't like that she was just butting out Maran, so I just glanced back and sniffed to see if we were safe. I could definately smell them close again, so we moved on.
We looked out from the watchtower, blinking in the strong winds, and then made our way back through the mountain.
I smiled to myself, nothing like a good wander, eh?

*Keppli stands by White Horn Lake, it sounds peaceful. She stares across the water sorrowfully as if lost in memories. She looks at the bouquet of lilies in her hand and places them on the ground, the lake water gently lapping against them.
She speaks softly in Halfling,
"Himd ur biesi, Dnumdci."
Although, she keeps holding one lily in her hand, and she looks at it for a moment, before putting it through the gap in her cloak clasp so it doesn't get damaged. Lythar pads closer to the flowers on the ground, and he lowers his head and whimpers. She strokes the wolf's head, before sitting down on the soft grass to get out the old journal*
Written on Sunra, Augra 8, 1440
Well, it did take awhile, but I finally managed to give Tod that lovely cloak I've been carrying round with me. He said it was a mixture of animal furs, sounds odd but it was actually really nice. It took a bit of persuading and all, but he finally took it. Not sure why, but I felt I had to give him something, and well, I think he could put it to better use than me. I still have the cloak I've always had anyways, and that'll be good enough for me.
*draws a dotted line, you think it means different subject but she just wants to get on to the next bit before she forgets*
Oh yes! We had this long discussion in this group... nice little group, was just me, Rocky, Tod, Aerimor, Ver, and Caerwyn.
We started in Lor, we'd dashed form Prantz and I looked back to see Rocky panting and Aerimor coming along shortly after. '
Woops guess I went a bit fast'
I thought... then my stomach growled.
'... without eating'
, I added as an afterthought.
Luckily Caerwyn gave me some food later, he's too kind for his own good, I was expecting a slice of bread, but he gave me a loaf and a roast... like a whole meal! Not that I'm ungrateful of course.
Ooh yes, we saw this satyr! Wonderful creatures... but I promised I'd help Ver, something about dragons and seeds and a cauldron and help restore something and whatnot. We traveled to Vale and then into a grove. We hopped into this stone circle and then, WOOOSH! We were in this place called The Great Oak or something. It was really nice there anyhow.
We discussed what we were gonna do, some wanted to use the magic cauldron, some wanted to take it, some wanted to destroy it, and some didn't want to go at all thining time would heal everything.
I'm not sure time
can
heal
everything
.
And anyway, if we all sat around doing nothing, nothing would ever happen would it?
Sometimes, we have to risk things, to make good things happen. I want to do everything in my power to help, and I didn't understand why Aerimor seemed against going and not doing anything, if you can help in any way... and see a dragon as a bonus, why hesitate? Anyway, Ver seemed to be on my side, so I looked up to him hopefully. Just goes to show how different brothers can be, even twins.
The one thing I was curious about, was when the druid went to talk with just Aerimor and Verideth. I wanted to know what they were saying. . .
Meanwhile, Caerwyn was asking what we could give to the dragon. He seemed to be thinking hard... he's really smart so I think it's a good thing he's with us, I know he'll come up with something good. I'm not rich, so I said the most thing I have of worth are probly my weapons, and they're not something I want to give away.
Tod then said something about mithril, but he said he was saving that for something... I saw a glint, probly it reflecting the sunlight, out the corner of my eye, but when I turned to see it, he looked at me then stuffed it hastily into his pocket.
Maybe something's up? I hope he's alright in any case.
Next time we're discussing the plan to talk to the dragon... Wow finally gonna get to see one, I've always wanted to meet one!

We finally made it to Fort Miritrix, we're gonna stay here awhile, until the time comes when we meet the Deepening Dark. It took a long time for us to find our way there on the long travel, even with Storold's directions. . .
The thing that's getting to me, is that everybody thinks it's going to go badly wrong, even Storold said 'Somebody's going to pay a heavy price'. That kinda unnerved me, but I have to stop thinking that... I've got to keep thinking the way I have done, that we can all do this! If we really try hard, and believe we can succeed, then I think we can. Call me a fool, but I'm going anyways, as much to see the dragon as to help out. . . hopefully not to be stuck in a big pie for the dragon.
*smiles to herself and then wipes some crumbs that fall on the page*
I'm happy enough to see this place, it's somewhere new that I haven't seen and seems pleasant enough. That reminds me, Rocky said recently that he'd been to this magnificent town in a mountain... A dwarf town!
He said only dwarves were allowed in ... although...
If Rocky led the way, and maybe I could sit on Tod's shoulders, or the other way round, we'd be the same height as Rocky right?
Well, thinking about it... If we put Tod's coat round, and stick some hair or fur to our chins... Haha! Oh, oh! Carry Rocky's axe too!
I'm sure I could do an alright dwarf impersonation, I've been round one long enough.
*chuckles and tries to do a gruff voice to herself*
Wouldn't look to good if we wobbled about and all...
*laughs louder then stops to look at rocky, leaning over to see if it woke him*
Heh, maybe. Not sure it'd work, but might be worth a try!
Anyways, I'll write again soon,

*Keppli leans against the moss-covered rock wall, looking into the dancing flames of the campfire and keeping her weapon in easy reach, wiggling her ear for any sounds of nearby enemies*
Quick note to self: Don't eat raw, wriggling fish again...my face turned green. Cook it next time.

It's been quite exciting recently... we did meet the magnificent, but fearsome black dragon in the Deep... I'm just glad it didn't eat us, though I wouldn't be surprised if it did, the way Steel talked. It was unerving, like he kept keeping it all back, not getting to the point... there was only so much patience a dragon could have. Steel's very last question was how he could get more answers, and the dragon asked that he steal something called Orn's Tear. Storold frowned when I told him... said Leringard was in trouble if Steel meant to do what I said he was. I felt really terrible then, in trying to help have I made things worse?
Maybe I should put things right before it's too late... though I didn't know how.
Then Storold surprised me by saying there was a way I could help, and that was to tell Fisterion. I'm still not too sure myself, sometimes its hard to see which is right and which is wrong, they can be masked and disguised so you can sometimes fall for what you think is the opposite.
It won't help thinking that way though, if finding Fisterion will help save lives, then I'll try. Storold's smart anyways, he's probly right.

Not long after, I saw Rocky zooming past (well, not exactly zooming, after all he's pretty slow) so I jogged to follow, and see what he was up to.
I caught up, and grinned to him with a small wave. He later told me that he still owed Tod true for those gloves he's wearing. The only thing is, Rocky was broke... I didn't hesitate, I just ran to the bank and got out the five thousand, which is almost all I had. It took awhile to get that much of course, but I'd rather spend it on friends than myself anyhow...
I dashed back to him, and handed him the pouch of coins. He seemed kinda surprised, saying I didn't have to, but I shook my head, smiling, and asked him to take it. I made him promise though, that he wouldn't tell Tod it was actually my money, if he knew he probably wouldn't have taken it.
Even so... when we finally found him at the Scamp's Mug, it still wasn't simple to persuade him to take it. He was saying he might sneak out so I ran to block the door with a chuckle. I'm glad Rocky did most of the talking, I'm a terrible liar... and he's actually quite good at it.
I bit my lip, panicking a bit when Tod was astonished, asking how Rocky got all that money... and he
had
to say that he sold his Nanny Dot into slavery and that she was really horrible...
We were lucky though, he didn't seem to suspect a thing, and thanked Rocky for the true, before making his way to the bank. I hopped and walked behind, humming cheerfully, but Rocky said he was off to do something else... so we waved him off.
Me and Tod spent a while after that, scratching our heads, puzzling what to do next. He was kinda right when, once you've seen a dragon, lots of things seem much duller in comparison.
He needed some metal ore, so we set off to Silkwood cave, with our oxes trotting behind. I was happy enough though, at least we were going somewhere instead of sitting around. I just helped him smash the metal, I could always go back if I wanted dome myself. We came back out with slightly heavier packs, but then Tod pulled something out his pocket, saying he got me a present. It looked like a golden egg... and he said there was some Al'Noth in it. I couldn't say no, after he'd gone to the trouble to get it, so I thought frantically of something in exchange, but I hadn't much to give that was any use, so I pulled that lily out my cloak clasp and held it out. I wasn't sure he'd take it... but he did. I waved as he headed back to Hlint, and I fell asleep here... Luckily I haven't been noticed, I can blend into a tree or some leaves quite well... well I'm usually covered in leaves anyway!
*takes out the golden egg, looking at it curiously as it glimmers in the light of the fire, smiling to herself*
