Aeronn Kirath: Thoughts, Prayers and Other One Way Conversations

[Andrios]

*Aeronn stands before the statue of Rofirein in Vehl.  Solemnly he holds his sheathed sword in front of him, lowering it as he kneels in prayer*

Lord Protector,

I come before you this day in shame.   Through arrogance I fell to an elemental.  While trying to reach the place of my failure so that I could pray and regain my strength most of those with me died as well.  Despite their condition, they were preparing to go in again, in my aid.

I could not stand letting *he pauses*  any of them die again,for my follly.
I asked for a potion of invisibility and went among my enemies hidden and cloaked in the power of the Al'Noth.  Though it shames me, I passed within feet of several elementals, without issuing forth challenge or making my presence known.  In shame I did pause where I had fallen and regain my strength, though I lost my dignity.

I stand now awaiting your Judgement for my folly.  I have taken it upon myself to fast taking only water for one week.  I shall listen with my inner ear to see if I can determine if more is required of me.

*After remaining motionless for some time, Aeronn slowly stands and walks quietly one of the small rooms set aside for knights errant of the temple*

[Andrios]

*Aeronn sits before a campfire. In his right hand he holds a bag of Rofirien's Stardust.  In his left hand he holds a bag of Toran's Stardust.  Slowly he holds each up, examining them in turn.  As the fire light plays upon the bags, Aeronn replays the scene in his head*

"Did you find anything of interest, Aesthir?"

"Just this dust of Toran's, do you wish to have it Brother?"

"If you do not mind over much."

"Not at all.  I  have no use for Toran's Dust or anything from Toran."  The smirk could almost be heard in his voice.

*Aeronn puts the dust of Rofirein in an easily accessable pouch.  After a slight hesitation he puts Toran's dust deep in one of his packs.  As he does so he mutters*

"I suppose it is time to leave what belongs to Toran with Toran."

[Andrios]

*Aeronn sits by a campfire in the wastelands, He produces his statue of Rofirein and kneels before it solemnly*

Lord Protector,
 
I ask a boon of thee.  Trouble Tempest has left the mortal world, his last strand gone.  I know not who  he followed, if anyone.  I know that he upheld the Law of Nature, and fought valiantly with courage to protect those he felt were in his charge.  In light of his actions I ask that you Shelter him in your Wings on his final journey.  That you protect  his soul as it makes the flight to its proper resting place.
I thank you for your continued guidance and protection

*Aeronn quietly packs his statue and sits looking up at the constellations until dawn breaks, ending the darkness*

[Andrios]

**Aeronn puts  his journal away.  Dimly he registers that his once blazing fire has dwindled to embers.   He picks up his sword and shield and begins practicing forms.  He flows through varying angles of attack and defense, eventually the movements serve the purpose  he had intended and he enters something akin to a meditative state.  The calm is not as complete as he would wish.  Thoughts try to enter at the edges of awareness.  The color blue resonates and flickers at the edges of the thoughts.  He hears Lance again, "A Test or a Choice."   Daniella saying, "You should try using the Longsword"  The image of Lance's sword flows through his conciousness its Ankh Pommel glowing in his minds eye.  The more tired he becomes, the more frequently the images and sounds flow through his consiousness.  Finally his meditative state breaks completely and Aeronn sits his sword and shield down, and throws himself down into senseless slumber**

[Andrios]

**Aeronn finishes clearing camp in the morning, and before leaving he sets out his statue of Rofirien,laying a blue rose next to it.  Aeronn kneels and prays**

Lord Protector,
I seek your face in humility.  Daniella is about to leave on a mission of grave importance for the Toranite church.  Though she does  not speak of it, I know this mission makes her uneasy.  As we made our goodbyes she gave me a rose, and declared that she did love me, and that each lived in the heart of the other.  I pray that you shelter her on her mission.  Shield her from harm with Your Mighty Scales.  Let her return whole and successful.  
I also pray you show through me, that Your Laws exist for the benefit of those governed and not merely for their Own sake.
May you Guide my path, and lend me your Strength.

**Aeronn puts the statue away, and fastens the rose under his armor, near his heart.**

**Aeronn feels the gentle rocking of the ship as it makes its way to Vehl.  He secures his golden dragon statue and begins to pray**

Lord Protector,
I thank you for the gifts you grant upon to one such as I.  You have given me the strength to defeat the machinations of Ilsare.  I have learned to lean upon your Strength and Wisdom.  
Tonight you granted me the Strength to  hear that Daniella loves another. Your mighty Wings sheltered my heart from feelings of anger and jealousy.
You granted me wisdom to see that she was happy and that the bond between her and I was changed, but unbroken.  

I wish to strengthen my fealty to you, and join the Ranks of Your Knights of the Wyrm.

May you continue to show me what is right, and give me the Strength to see it accomplished.

*As  his campfire turns to embers, Aeronn places his statue on the ground and begins to pray*

Lord Protector,

I thank you for your protection.  Most especially during my recent trip into the Broken Halls.  A deep and penetrating fear fell upon those I traveled with, causing some to lose their faculties.  I too felt the faint stirrings of fear, but a brief meditation on your Strength and Courage caused allowed me to feel your Wings envelope me and shield me.   Once the momentary fear passed I was able to assist the others, with difficulty into making it back to the surface.  I praise your Strength and Glory in that moment.  

I may have reason to ask for your Strength soon.  Anne Ravenwind and  her minions attacked Daniella and left her for dead.  When next I see Anne Ravenwind, I will apprehend her in Your name.  I do not expect  her to come willingly, and my Blade will not be stayed if that is the path she chooses.  I will need your Strength and Protection to be victorious in that encounter.

An army that breeds anarchy and chaos seems bent on bringing War to Mistone.  I will do my Duty to protect Mistone and its Citizens.  

May you grant me the Wisdom to know what is Right, and the Strength to accomplish it.

*Aeronn paces about his small room in Iradril's tree, his gaze roaming around the room.  Finally his eyes settle on the flower pot with blue and yellow roses that sets on his armoir.  He contemplates them a moment before going to the dining room table, ink and quill in hand.  Settling  himself at the table Aeronn begins to write two letters that are exactly the same*

To Whom it May Concern:
This missive represents my last will and testament on Layanora.  May you do your duty with the Guidance and Protection of our Lord Protector.

I am a humble knight, possesed of little gold or material possessions, however, I wish what I do have to be dispersed in the following manner:

All money in my accounts and found on my person are to be donated to the Temple of Rofirein in Fort Vehl.  My armor, shield, jewelry, and any magical clothing, with the exception of the 2 pairs of magical footwear that I carry, are also to be yielded to Rofirein's temple in Fort Vehl, as is anything else I possess that is  not expressely mentioned in this missive.

Aesthir Stargazer shall be presented with Adjudicator.  He is my Brother in Rofirein, and a boon companion.  May its fiery blade help him spread Rofirein's rightousness throughout the land.

My slippers of Freazekia will be given to Alassir Vil'Drazzic if he will have them.  We found them together many years ago, and he bade me keep them.  It is only right that they should belong to him now.  If he does  not desire them, the slippers are to be given to the temple of Rofirein at Fort Vehl.

Iradril Arkenrhael shall have my ascenders march boots, as they belonged to him before passing into my hands.  May they serve him in fighting the giants of Dregar as well as they have me.  He shall also have the various and sundry items I have left scattered about his home. (worthless though they are.)  Iradril shall also have any gems, gem dusts, or bodak teeth found upon my person.

Lastly, I wish that the flower pot above my Armoir be given to Daniella Stormhaven.  May the flowers therein provide her with beauty in silence, and comfort in sorrow as they have with me.
