Aeronn Kirath: Observations

*Sitting by a low-burning campfire Aeronn reaches into his pack and pulls out a leather bound tome embossed with a golden Compass Shield. Next he pulls out a quill and a small vial of ink. He begins writing in the tome...*
Aesthir is correct. Writing down facts while they are fresh in your memory can be of use when the facts need to be recalled later. I will use this journal for that purpose.
Facts known and suspected about Quantum's disappearance:
1. He was taken by undead
2. One of the female vampires seen at his abduction is inhabiting Arindor's Demise. She claims he is not there and has threatened the safety of Llast if she is not left in peace.
3. Laura has appeared saying she wishes to help. She also claims she is no longer a vampire, and is not responsible for her previous acts. She is seeking to have her name cleared, and using blackmail to try and achieve that goal. (So, even if she is not a vampire, she is still up to her old ways) Suspected of being behind the whole abduction.
4. I have heard rumours that an Aeridinite was captured, and actually saw Quantum briefly before he was able to make his escape. The rumours say this happened in the Hammer Bound Peaks. The rumours also say that Corathites are responsible. I need to speak to Flint, as he is the one the rumour says was captured.
5. Although more information is required, it seems the Hammer Bound Peaks will be the place to look, and the force assembled should be prepared to fight old and powerful vampires..
Rofirein Guide and protect us...

*Aeronn sits at a table in the Caring Hope Inn. He pulls his journal out and after a moment's thoughtful silence he begins scribing in it*
Happened to meet up with Tod and Daniella a week or so ago. I was unable to attend the Macquerade ball, so I had enquired how it had gone. I was hoping to find that my advice was helpful to Tod. Apparently it was at least somewhat helpful. It seems both my friends had a grand time. I am sorry duty called me away from it.
While we were conversing, Laura came looking for Daniella. Again Laura pushed her claims. She said she was changed and only needed to have the files removed in order to have a second chance. That creature is insufferable.
This time she not only stated that she could help Anne escape alive, if her demands were met, she taunted us saying that she did not know how much longer Quantum would be alive, since he was being slowly killed.
Daniella of course told her that she was never going to have the records she wanted. We discussed the nature of Change and redemption. Trying to coax Lauara into proving herself changed by freely giving information and aid. She stated that she would not. Proof that she is still a monster, even if she has somehow had the curse of Vampirism lifted from her. (which I doubt)
She did tell us that Quantum was taken by Corathites, something that Daniella already knew apparently. In short order we had had enough of her, and she of us and Laura stalked off. I am not sure anything was accomplished for anyone during the discussion.
The whole thing has me wondering... why does Luara wish to have the file so badly? The mere absence of the file will not exhonerate her even in the eyes of Toran. I believe there is something specific in that file that could prove detremental to Laura, or whatever plan she is trying to execute.
One final note of interest.. Daniella said she thought Laura could be behind Quantum's dissappearance... Laura merely said that accusations should not be made without proof. Then the foul creature smiled....
May Rofirein Guide and Protect us..

*Aeronn sits with his back resting on a tree, his journal on his lap, he gazes across the rocky foothills a moment before finally dipping his quill and writing*
It seems I have information and no details.
1)Trouble Tempest is no more. The exact nature of his demise was not imparted to me, other than he died in the Rift, apparently chasing a creature that had been a concern to Dalanthar.
2)Quantum was found. Again exact details elude me. I know he was found in the Ire Mountains, and at the time of his rescue he was not himself. I am sure Toran's Temple will be up to the task of healing him. I need to speak to Daniella to gain the specifics. Laura's name has not been mentioned in any rumours I have heard. I am also curious if Anne has been heard from. I understand she left in order to find him...
3)D *There is a large ink stain here as if the quill were held above the page for long moments while the ink dripped onto the page*
4)Against my expectations, Sion actually turned himself in once Quantum was found. I must go now and speak with him, and find out when his trial is, and if my testimony will be required.
*Aeronn packs his things away, stands and strides purposefully toward Ft. Vehl*

*Aeronn sits in Krelin's Inn, the remains of a meal pushed aside to make room for the journal he has laid upon the table. Aeronn pauses for a moment and then writes*
I was fighting in the crypts here in Krandor alongside of Daniella when one of the monstrosities spoke her name. It bade her to die. We smote it simaltaneously and it fell before the combined might of Rofirein and Toran.
As we emerged from the crypts a Beacon from the church of Toran strode up and asked to speak alone with Daniella. Flint showed up at about the same time, so the two of us talked while Daniella went a short distance away with the Beacon.
Daniella returned from her meeting looking very somber. It seems she has been given a task for the church. Apparently it is a mission only for Toranites. She refused not only my offer of aid, but Flint's as well.
I offered up the name of every accomplished Toranite I knew, that I felt could aid her. *sighs as he writes* I even mentioned Tristan.
It appears she intends to ask his aid, as well as the aid of Lance.
I hope that her mission is successful, whatever it may be.
Though others may not approve I am praying that Rofirien lend them the protectioin of his scales, and the might of his claws.

*Aeronn sits beside a blazing firepit, the smell of cooked boar strong in the air. His journal rests in his lap as he gazes forward, unseeing. The scent of boar has left the air, and the firepit is nothing but dimmed coals when he finally looks down and writes in his journal*
FACT:
I am Aeronn Kirath. Knight of Rofirein, Dedicated to his cause. I wield a bastard sword, His chosen weapon for delivering swift and sure Justice.
Query: If one knight of Toran may be involved with one who follows a god Toran has an absence of affection for, why may another knight not be involved with someone whom Toran feels merely ambivilant about?
*Aeronn sighs and puts the journal away. Then he picks up his shield and sword and goes through a series of Forms, until exhausted he lays them down, and then lays himself down to sleep*

*Aeronn stands gazing across the pond, staring at the road he knows she must have just galloped down in her flight from him. Slowly, as if fatigued from a difficult battle, he sinks down onto a bench. He pulls out his journal. Looking at his last entry he snorts and writes a new one*
Fact: I am Aeronn Kirath, Knave of Selfishness. I pray Rofirein forgive me, I am defeated and undone by Ilsare's thorny Barb.
Query: What is better for her, If I remain by her side or if I wander forever away from her?
I seek the Guidance of the Great Protector, may He shelter our souls.
*Aeronn stuffs his journal into a pack. He stands a long moment at the intersection before turning and heading in the direction of Ft. Vehl.*

**Aeronn sits down on a bench in Hlint. He watches Daniella and his friends as they exit Hlint through the gate to the Wastelands. Finally he turns and writes in his journal*
While patrolling the Black Dog swamps I met with Marec, Daniella, Tod, the new Toranite Daniella spoke of and a few others. It seems the new Toranite spotted creature of Darkness. This creature takes the shape of a black horse with a horn. Daniellla and Tod both said they saw it a few days previously. Daniella described it as having an aura that felt "wrong". It also disturbed the nearby animals.
It has only appeared near Hlint, so I will keep my patrol in this vicinity for a while. Aesthir finds it intersting that only Toranites, or those friendly to them have seen the beast. Perhaps that information will be helpful in locating or capturing the beast and ensuring the well being of the citizens in the area.

**Aeronn sits at the base of a dead tree. He gazes upward, where the moons seem caught in the clutches of its skeletal branches. After a moment he pulls out his journal and writes**
I am mortal.
I should not take on more than I am able to alone.
I am thankful that Rofirein sheilded me from the Soul Mother's full fury, and though she took her measure, still I returned to this world.
**Aeronn hesitates as if about to write more, instead he packs his things and prepares to rest for the night**

**Aeronn sits on the dock in Leringard, awaiting passage to Ft. Vehl. With a victorious smile he opens his journal and writes*
Rofirein gave me the strength to pass His test. Ilsare's barb remains lodged, but it is buried and no longer brings pain.
Daniella is happy and so am I.
I fear the war will not remain contained on Belinara. I feel Rofirein calling me to join the ranks of His Knights of the Wyrm.
May His wisdom continue to guide me.
**Aeronn places a somewhat wilted blue flower on the page and presses the journal closed upon it**

*Aeronn sits at a table in the 'Arms. Looking across the common room at those that just returned with him from ruins they called the Broken Halls*
Dragons.
I seem to hear more about them every day. Our foray into the crypts was stalled by the mention of a Black Dragon that lives there.
Or was it? Jennara said that she was not sure if the palpable wave of fear was born of the dragon, or something more sinister yet. In any case many of our group proved unable to deal with the conditions in the lower ruins, and went temporarily mad with fear. Perhaps with a stronger, more devout group we could more completely cleanse the area. Although, according to Timulty the curse left by Sopraprias (I think the name was) is a strong one...
Meanwhile, according to rumours I hear at the temple there is a war fleet headed for Mistone. It seems this cult may have dragons aiding it, and according to Steel, the cult also has some sort of draconoid soldiers that fight with them. I fear Mistone is in for a difficult time.
I shall patrol the Dragon Isles more, as perhaps advance warning may be given from that location. I am training longer and harder. My battle prowess improves, and my Faith in Rofirein grows stronger. With His aid, I shall protect and defend Mistone from this nefarious cult.

The expected war has come. According to Plenarius the first ships should arrive on the southern end of the Battlehelm Moors within the week. The forces arrayed against Mistone are impressive, including perhaps Dragons, and what Argali calls Drachs- apparently they are half-man -half-Dragon monstrosities created with a foul Bloodpool.
Plenarius says for all of that, he believes the real purpose of the enemy troops is to hide or provide defense for a smaller group that wants to perform some sort of ritual or maybe locate some artifact of dark power.
I have informed the temple of the news Plenarius provided.
Now I patrol the road between Vehl and Hempstead, and the borderlands of the Moors themselves, so that I can provide assistance as quickly and effectively as possible.
May Rofirein provide guidance and protection for as all.

**Aeronn sits huddled next to a brazier in Brenuth, his cloak pulled around him for added warmth. As he watches the group disperse he pulls out his journal and begins writing*
It seems at last that alliances are being formed to deal with the Cult. I have just finished a lengthy task. I had the honor to lead a group that provided escort for a dwarven ambassador to Queen Mouring.
We did not know who the ambassador was when we escorted from the Ulgrid kingdom to Blackford castle, his identity was only revealed when we arrived safely at Blackford. Our trip, though long was relatively peaceful with only a few bandits brave enough to attempt an attack on a group our size.
By the time the ambassador was ready to return home, news of his identity must have gotten out. Luckily, we had not only a greater number of volunteers, but more skilled as well, to aid in escorting the ambassador back home.
We faced much tougher resistance on the return trip, some of our attackers were even dwarven. We easily handled everything until we came to a valley. The exit from the valley was blocked by a large and determined group of mercenaries. Steel took Jennara, Caerwyn, and Jaelle to scout and determine their numbers. Meanwhile I dispatched Tod, and Benjamin to scout other possible exits from the valley.
Steel spent some time in his own interesting form of negotiations with the mercenaries. While he was doing that, Benjamin was able to find an alternate path that was ungaurded. Though they seemed a little disappointed Factor Brah'min and the ambassador agreed to take that path rather than risk a confrontation with the mercenaries.
I left the Factor and the ambassador in the very capable care of Lance, Argali, and Tyra and asked Benjamin to act as scout. No sooner had they gained the hidden path than Steel's negotiations broke down into open battle. I charged in to aid Steel and the others as best I could, and though it was a hard won battle we emerged victorious.
A look at the remains did not reveal who might have hired the mercenaries, or how they came to block that pass.
In order to best ensure the safety of the Ambassador we quickly caught up with the forward party. The rest of the trip was relatively uneventful and just now, the Ambassador has returned.
I hope the meeting with the Queen and this ambassador went well, and means that she has reconsidered her opinion, and now views the threat posed by the cult as real. It is rewarding to see a kingdom turn to dwarves other than Rael and his kin. I trust good things will come of the meeting.
May Rofirien Guide and Protect us in these times.

Aeronn's will- for posterity

// As per the new rules for wills, etc. I do not expect the gm staff in any way to execute this will. I did, however, want to post it publicly for the sake of posterity. //
*Aeronn paces about his small room in Iradril's tree, his gaze roaming around the room. Finally his eyes settle on the flower pot with blue and yellow roses that sets on his armoir. He contemplates them a moment before going to the dining room table, ink and quill in hand. Settling himself at the table Aeronn begins to write two letters that are exactly the same*
To Whom it May Concern:
This missive represents my last will and testament on Layanora. May you do your duty with the Guidance and Protection of our Lord Protector.
I am a humble knight, possesed of little gold or material possessions, however, I wish what I do have to be dispersed in the following manner:
All money in my accounts and found on my person are to be donated to the Temple of Rofirein in Fort Vehl. My armor, shield, jewelry, and any magical clothing, with the exception of the 2 pairs of magical footwear that I carry, are also to be yielded to Rofirein's temple in Fort Vehl, as is anything else I possess that is not expressely mentioned in this missive.
Aesthir Stargazer shall be presented with Adjudicator. He is my Brother in Rofirein, and a boon companion. May its fiery blade help him spread Rofirein's rightousness throughout the land.
My slippers of Freazekia will be given to Alassir Vil'Drazzic if he will have them. We found them together many years ago, and he bade me keep them. It is only right that they should belong to him now. If he does not desire them, the slippers are to be given to the temple of Rofirein at Fort Vehl.
Iradril Arkenrhael shall have my ascenders march boots, as they belonged to him before passing into my hands. May they serve him in fighting the giants of Dregar as well as they have me. He shall also have the various and sundry items I have left scattered about his home. (worthless though they are.) Iradril shall also have any gems, gem dusts, or bodak teeth found upon my person.
Lastly, I wish that the flower pot above my Armoir be given to Daniella Stormhaven. May the flowers therein provide her with beauty in silence, and comfort in sorrow as they have with me.
This is written in my hand by the Strength of Rofirein,
On this Twentieth day of Seplar 1446.
Aeronn Kirath, Knight of Rofirein
*the signature is written in a precise, fluid hand*
*after completing both letters he sends one to the magistrate in Hlint, and the other to the proper person at the temple in Fort Vehl*
