Housing?

How does one who does not belong to an organization or have an alternate character that is willed a house obtain one?

From looking around myself and seeing other folks who have done the same, it appears that none of the existing properties will ever come back on the market and I don't believe there is any intention on creating new properties for purchase.

Existing properties have gone back on the market and do from time to time. We have in the past reviewed all those who have owned houses but have been inactive for an inordinate amount of time (read: year+) and placed those houses back on the market (with some advance warning, of course). We also did a drive...hmm, was it a year ago? wow, time flies... to get unused houses owned by active players back on the market.

It may be time for another drive, or to review houses owned by inactive players. I'll let Dorganath offer a better answer to that.

Good point, perhaps opening up some properties owned by former players to the market again? (maybe giving preference to players that don't own a house on any of their characters)

I can think of a few off the top of my head.

Time for another housing purge maybe?

I agree that that any repo'ed houses should go to people that dont have one on an alt or seperate nwn acount.

Share the love folks!

Part of the problem with housing sweeps is that even though the original purchaser may be long gone, other active characters may still be resident there, so it gets kind of mucked up, as we don't just want to yank houses away that are being actively used.

As for willed houses going to characters on alt accounts of the same player, that generally doesn't happen.  We're pretty aware of most alt accounts and while there may have been the odd exception to this, generally we don't pass houses from one character to another played by the same player.
