Champion of Rofirein

Just curious, why no Champion of Rofirein? IG reason?

Not a GM... but I think it has to do with alignments?  Divine Champions I think have to be LG, and in order to be a Champion of your god, you have to have the same alignment... Rofirein is LN, so mechanically it doesn't work.  

Just my thoughts, I may be wrong *shrugs*

The only mechanical requirements for a divine champion are a non-evil alignment, focus in a melee weapon, and a BAB minimum.

Ok... I got a question then.  If there were created a new class for Champion of Rofirein that was LN... would they smite chaos instead of smite evil?

We have Unholy Champions... Don't see why Rofirein should be deprived of them if alignment is not mechanically coded??

Unholy Champion replaces Blackguard - any evil. Divine Champion replaces Champion of Torm. Any deity-specific variation is just a name change. It probably would have been more organized to have no deity specifications in the actual class, and left that to paper changes and other RP requirements.

Allowing Rofirein to use the existing class (whether copied as new name or merging into generic Divine Champions and Unholy Champions) is simply a matter of paperwork approvals for an existing mechanical possibility. Changing the class features require actual tweaking to the PrC beyond a copy-paste name change, so isn't really the same and would need to be commented on by someone that would have to actually make those changes, whatever the size of them...

Personally, I think the "Purple Dragon Knight" or something like it would better suit Rofirein.  Rofi is about law and order, Champions are about being that Great Warrior for Good (or Evil) and bring the smacketh down on your opposite.  Rofi Champs should be Champions of Order, and get some feats that reflect that.  Not the cookie cutter Champ of Toran/Vorax feats.

There is an elite group that could be labeled Champions of Rofirein already - The Knights of the Wyrm.  Of course they have no mechanical benefits, but from an RP sense the Knights are very much like the Champions of other faiths.

 Although I do like this idea. Perhaps an alternative path mechanically for those that become Knights?
