Sorry to keep hitting this, but I need to reinforce an important point.  The extra damage added to a weapon will assume the same character of damage of the base weapon.  For example, if you put a silver 1d8 slashing enhancement (like we have now) on a maul (that does bludgeoning as its base dam), the extra 1d8 slashing from the silver now becomes bludgeoning damage.  In the same regard, if you put a silver 1d8 bludgeoning (the new version we want created) on a Dwarven War Axe (that does slashing), then the 1d8 silver damage now transforms or assumes the same quality of the base weapon and becomes slashing damage.  This is also explained in the link Dorg provided.

This is important, because if a silver bludgeoning enhancement was created, it would NOT be giving a slashing weapon extra blugeoning damage that might by-pass certain undead immunities, but rather it would just be adding more slashing damage to that weapon.  Hence, there would be no unbalancing issue there and the enhancement would be working as intended.

This has strayed out of the realm of bug reports and into the realm of suggestions. Please start a thread in the suggestions area and make any proposals, discussions, arguments or refuting statements there.
