Portals missing
« on: February 14, 2011, 10:53:49 AM »
Hi...I am trying to get my house in Half Lake. But I can't see any portals. They are gone. And so are the Chest for resources at the Angel's Guild..This could be  limited only to me.  But I could use some help in solving this matter.  Any ideas?

Double click your house key for the house in question

or

Use the house key

or

walk out of the door, close the door and walk in again

I am trying to use the portal in the Angel's Guild House...but it is not there. And the drop off chest's aren't there either. I am trying to get to Prantz Half Lake District and to house 231. I was able to jump yesterday but now I can't.  Could this be an update issue?

Oh...and the chests in the house in Half Lake are gone as well.  I'm beginning to think this is limited to my connection?

The database shows all these pieces still exist in both locations, so nothing's "lost" as such.

I'm not going to say it couldn't be an update issue, but I didn't do anything with furniture population for this one, and in the process of testing other things, I had to populate the furniture in those locations...and that was actually one of the last things I tested.

Answer this: Was any furniture showing up in either location? You were specific about the portals and chests, but there's no reason why these should be singled out.

When you went into the Angels, did you try the locked door or the public door?  Only the locked door will activate the furniture, which is true for all houses.  Also, if you don't have a key for the Angels hall, activating a different key will have no effect.

no furniture...in either location. And I used the public door at the guild house. No key needed for the public entrance. And I don't have a key to the locked door to the Guild house. Which puzzles me,, because I was able to use them yesterday.  I am going to log on Peanut and check another house really quick. See what's going on there.  And I will check and she if Keela can use the the crossroads portal to Leringard. OH one other thing...My bank chest works.  Everything is there.  So go figure. Thanks for helping :)

OK, you would have had to at least try to open the locked door to the Angels, possibly also select the option to knock on the door.  It doesn't matter if you don't have a key. This will work regardless. The public entrance cannot and does not activate the furniture, so that was probably your mistake there.

The Crossroads portal goes to Dalanthar. ;)

Duh...I saw my mistake with the portal.  Boy do I feel foolish. :) Btw..Peanut has everything on Central and can even get to her ox on West.  So, the problem is with the furniture and portals.  I'll try the locked door.

YEA!!!!!!  The locked door thingy worked! Why? I don't know.  But everything works now on both servers.
Very odd though. Must have been something to do with the reset of the server maybe?
Anyway *takes a deep relaxing breath* Thanks so much Dorg for your time and help in this matter :)

Well furniture disappears after every reset and needs to be re-populated by either using the key to a house within that particular house or by interacting with the locked door to that house.  I think you just stumbled on the right combination eventually.

Glad I could help!
