Mariner's Hold -Missing Person...
«
on:
July 29, 2011, 02:09:31 AM »
Riesaleah Nash, a young female halfling employed as a night clerk by the Wisefoot Trading Company has been reported to the authorities as a missing person. She was last seen leaving the dock district after dropping off a package to an import/export company named "Crimwell and Sons" just after dark.
Posters are being put up by fellow employees and family members. All are hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. A common theme being heard is that "she was a dependeble and honest person and that she would have never fallen off the face of Layonara like this."
There is currently a reward of 500 true for information leading to her whereabouts, and more if she is safely returned.

Guided by a newly acquired rumor, Pimpernell Greentoe the Traveling Troubadour goes off in search for more information... in the docks! A halfling clad in muted purple can be seen skulking that district in Mariner's Hold!

PM's are being sent to all three who responded. I urge you all to get together to RP what you have, because results were quite different. Failing that, use this thread for RP. In any case, if you can post something here to let me know what you are thinking it would be appreciated. This is going to be leading into a quest. When, where, and how is going to depend on you.

Among friends and those he trusts, Andrew sends out feelers for others interested in helping to find the young woman; he has information and wishes to move on it.

Andrew contacts Pimpernell and asks him to meet as soon as possible. Waiting for the response, he starts fishing around for information regarding birds?...

To those he knows are investigating or said they wished to, Andrew Reid extends an
invitation
to meet and pool knowledge, and perhaps hunt for some clues.
Pimpernell Greentoe and Emwonk are independently invited, and one other person is otherwise notified.
//open to all investigating the missing halfling

*Mariner's hold is such a rich city, a city of light and a city of shadows as well, two sides that the falcon has to use in order to observe, to look and to pry on his prey.*
*The strange man without face left as fast as he came, not be seen again in the mean time*

A halfling clad in muted purple garbs can be seen running from the docks. The halfling itself came from a dark alley and was seen headed to the Silver Buckle, screaming and singing a tune. The jolly tune is somewhat inconsistent with the look of shock on his face.
Teeth as sharp as daggers!
Hair as thick as a dwarven beard!
Run and hold your mothers!
Someone toss me a knife or spear!

Emwonk crouched in the shadows outside the Silverbuckle Inn in Mariner's Hold organizing his thoughts. Without warning Emwonk tensed as a screaming, singing halfling rushed toward the inn. It took only a split second for Emwonk to identify the one running so swiftly, as though chased by hounds, his muted-purples marking him quite clearly. It was the story-teller, Pimpernell Greentoe, communicating in his flight something about hair, teeth, and spears. He hadn't spotted Emwonk, so Emwonk wondered who he was trying to communicate with? Had he seen Wardens, or birds? It bore further looking into. Emwonk slid quietly around the edge of the building and through the closing door like he himself were a shadow, following the other Halfling inside to listen to what might transpire...
------
OOC - I'd like to consider this as Emwonk's point of entry, it that's okay with everyone involved? If not, this post can be retroed later on, I suppose.

Andrew is smoking a cigar and writing some music when Pimpernell makes his dramatic entrance. He throws the smoke into an ashtray, sets the book aside, and heads over to the door with long strides to find out what in the red blazes is up with his new troubadour friend...

After a quiet meeting in the Silver Buckle, Andrew is seen around town doing some comparison shopping and offering his emotional support to the family of the missing woman. He is seen entering and leaving both Crimwell and Sons and Wisefoot Trading Company, with a smallish halfling accompanying him. A lightning-scorched trail of dead insects and small rodents lay in the wake of the halfling's steps.

Pimpernell beckons for a tall glass of elderberry juice to calm his state of shock. He does not speak until he receives his mug of elderberry juice.

"Here - try this, pressed from younger berries so I've sugared it up to smooth the tartness."
The stoneware mug is full of the dark blue-purple juice. He beckons Pimpernell to a seat by the stage and sits himself across.
"So what hounds of the pits are nipping at your heels? You came through that door in quite a rush..."

Pimpernell eagerly grabs the mug and takes a sip of the juice, a smile forms on his face. He takes his time savoring every sip while listening to the sweet sound of silence. He sighs after every sip, savoring the beverage down to the last drop. After gorging on his juice, he laughs and slumps on his chair.
His usually jolly tone is suddenly replaced by a grave one. His face is now a mask of dreary contemplation as he recants his ordeal.
"A fine drink that is, Mister Andrew. Thank you. I was just really thirsty after running and singing. It was somewhat fitting considering the situation! Better they thought me mad for my safety!"
"I was busy skulking in the alleys near the docks and while rummaging through random knick-knacks, it lunged from the darkness! A behemoth of a beast with teeth as sharp as daggers! It was a hairy beast, hairier than my mate, Haels, and quite the hairy person he is!"
Pimpernell squints and nods.
"Something stirs in the docks... Something big and hairy... And it ain't no ravenous dwarf..."
