I promise this will be my only long entry in this thread - I only wanted to establish how Acacea acts in this place IC, even though OOC I will conform to server rules. If she 'trades' for anything in the future I promise I will only do a took/left, but with IC and OOC versions //
"Chimes" wanders through the pawn shop, admiring all of the trinkets and baubles people have left out for her to borrow, the scrolls to set free, the hats to try on. Someone has even had their pantry enchanted to preserve pastries, a community-minded effort she and her belly can get behind. Prunilla's Pastry Preserving Pantry! She helps herself to a slice of pie while browsing, getting crumbs all over an open crate of robes too big for her.
An hour or so later, sporting smears of blackberry on her cheek and the aforementioned over-large robe (now draped around her shoulders and dragging behind her on the floor after some time racing around being a snotty elven battlemage from Sadinia) she hears someone enter just as she was pulling herself up the shelves where the best scrolls were kept on the top. Tall people, really. So inconsiderate. Her head pops up over the bookshelf just in time to see a gnome dropping off a funny hat and leaving, again. Oh! Of course! How silly of her. These weren't for borrowing! They were for trading.
Well! Halflings knew all about trading; she used to not know very much about halflings, but she'd been assured by Fro and her ilk that it was in the blood, which she supposes explains why she made such a terribly good fence back in the Fun Times, happily laundering goods and coins from questionable sources and reselling them to paladins, which she is pretty sure made her Acacea Loot Launderer, or perhaps the Masterful Merchant, or... well bugger all, something or another, the point is that she is an excellent trader and Deliar should be sorry to have lost her.
Robe still dragging behind her, she dumps a few things back to the nearest crate, and looks for things that want to be traded. Pawing through pouches of dusts and small gems with spells trapped inside and singing to be let out, her fingers poke through something stuck. She jerks her arm out, spilling dusts on the floor, and finds herself staring at a human skull, her fingers poked in its eye sockets. Honestly, some people - this is no place to take a nap! She squints past it, listening more closely to how its song whispers. Oho, zapped by a counter-curse! Poor fella.
She balances him - she's decided it's a him - on the top of her head to get some air and rummages around in her sleeve a moment before pulling out a rumpled daisy. After a bit of freshening up, it makes the ideal replacement, and she feels sure everyone has gotten the best deal they possibly could. She tosses the priceless dress-up robe onto the hat chest, because there's a mask in there that would make the ideal accessory to be part of Kobal's sleepytime elven harem, ha-HA!
Something in the very same chest sings peek-a-boo, and she walks backwards to look again. Slaadi-riding Shadow Thieves! But no - she relaxes - this is just a poor copy. Still, to be found on Mistone, so near the city the Guild had ruled... it definitely needs a new home. She fishes in one of her many pockets and sets a grooved rock on top of the crate in trade. Heh heh. The butt rock. The arse-stone. "Did ye say 'earth-stone?" "Nay, I said ARSE STONE!" "That's wot I said!"
She is still giggling to herself when she reaches the fork in the road...
