If you're talking about finding something from the old forums, I believe that those forums used to self-archive and clean up posts and even threads (at least in some forums) that did not see any activity for a given length of time. It's possible what you are looking for no longer exists. When we transitioned to the current forums, we imported all of the existing posts and threads, but clearly if something had already fallen off, there's no way to import it.
Doing a quick search, I see posts going back to January of 2004.
It's possible also that what you're seeking is not accessible to you.
