Salutations, fellow purveyors of virtual bliss!
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:02:45 am »
Sorry about the delay in formally introducing myself in this rather extraneous fashion, but I've been having major ISP and Broadband issues and am currently in the process of churning to another provider, so give me a week or so and I'll be able to introduce myself properly in character!!!

Which character does this rambling poltroon refer to prithee? Why, the dashing Dorian Wilde of course!! The scoundrel is my first on this seemingly fine roleplaying server you creative people participate in, and although my NWN aptitudes are somewhat rusty, I hope to swiftly recover finesse amongst such fine colleagues!

My RP background originally stems from pen and paper AD&D in the acid-washed denim days of the '80s, where skill with a d20 die seemed more relevant than application to study!! Carry this into the mid to late '90s with an addiction to text based MUDs, coupled with a recent exposure to the highs and lows of World of Warcraft MMO and we summarily come to this poignant moment as I hesitate upon the Layonara threshold...

Pleased to become a part of the artful menagerie arrayed before me and hope to share my questionable aestheticisms with you all soon!

Fine and dandy,
Jupiter :)

Delighted to see such an articulate and witty soul joining us...ahhh, I see you might even give our local practitioner of acrobatic linguistics, Pesudonym, a run for his verbal money!

*tips her hat and sits back with her scorecards and popcorn*

"The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." (Lord Henry)

Think Dorian will fit right in. ;)

What is it with Australians and verbal acrobatics, exactly?

Ah well, your rivalry with Pseudonym will distract him from his true adversary. ;)

*Taking out his international, ten thousand page dictionary, he hefts it with both hands and slams it down with a thud, dust going everywhere*  Ahhh... time to see what his post actually MEANS!

    Welcome.

If you're ever cut off from Layo, don't worry about the withdrawl symptoms.

    They're normal.

*After days on end of flipping through page after page he finally finds 'purveyor'*  "Puhr-vay-er... a person who purveys, provides, or supplies: a purveyor of foods; a purveyor of lies.  Oh sheez, that doesn't help at all.  Well... only a hundred more words to go..."  *Begins flipping to the word poltroon*

I worry not about the press of sharpened dagger at my back, darkstorme is Layo's epigrammatical cyber-Duncan, not me!

William Shakespeare once said (or words to the effect) 'Brevity is the soul of wit'. Bah! What'd he know? Welcome to a fellow Aussie.
