The following are 3 songs that I have listened to a lot the past 3 days. The bands are local (means they play in Århus, Denmark, and perhaps a festival or two during the summer). I would like to hear what others are listening to since there might be some tracks out there that would fall into my categori.

Preferably choose tracks that are relatively unknown by the masses.

A band I heard at a festival in Århus this summer. The band name means "Lis is silent", the song is called "Strength". They combine audio and visual effects (a large screen behind the band displays short videos or just graphic art during their concert) and it just worked. When the song hit its climax during the concert I felt the hair rise on my back. Perhaps that is what I remember when I hear it, but its a cool track anyhow.

Also a band I learned of by seeing them live. They are new, its far from perfect and some say they have too much of Tool'ish sound. Still, I say they are original and, most importantly, I enjoy their tracks. (click on the loudspeaker to the right of the track, and remember to also listen to Chosen and Forgotten)

A cover of John Lennon's classic with a twist. I simply do not get tired of listening to this track. The band is very cool and definately worth checking out. I have 2 CDs which are both excelling (if this falls into your taste). Also listen to the Orestes track

I got a really diffrent music taste, and every that I find sounding good, gets played at me.
If I have to pick 3 song out that I have listened to alot lately it would have to be.
Christina Aguilera - Hurt
This have to the ballad of the year, nobody got a voice like her, like her or not, but she knows how to use that voice of hers.
Radiohead - Airbag
This is just one song actually, as I have the CD and I keep having it on play at my stereo. Best CD there ever was made. Thom yorke have the most intense voice that Ive ever heard, and its gives shivers just to listen to songs like No Surprise on the OK Computer CD.
Gary Jules - Mad World
Everyone who have seen the new Xbox 360 commercial with that ad for Gears of war, knows this song. Its very moody, and I really love the quiet feel it gives.

These aint unknown by the masses by far, but the thread seemed to incliene that we could pick 3 random song. And I heard those 3 song you posted there Harlas, and I have to say I like number 1 the most, a really cool song. I kept listening to it alot last night.

See... I too have found someone who nobody has a voice like. Her name is Amy Lee and I believe Lynn and G-452 are very familiar with her.

Didn't get a chance to listen to the other two, but Harlas that first song is awesome! And yes Zero, familliar: However the lead singer from Within temptation imho (in my humble opinion) is better.

As for what I'm listening to.

Love the first song Harlas. And I agree with Jess. The lead singer of Within Temptation is better. The three songs I'm into right now...
The Kill- 30 Seconds to Mars. (Never listening to it while on NWN ever again though. Ash perm'd while I was listening to it and then Rissa got eaten by a giant last time.)

Recipe for Hate...Warhorse - Megadeth - this song is just raw and in your face. A very uplifting tune

Acid Rain - Liquid Tension Experiment - Man does this song rock!

Not the Same - Days of the New - Days of the New just has this really dark acoustic sound that I really dig.

So many more, it's so hard to pick just three. But I think these make my playlist almost every time I make one up.

Heh, then one came up that I haven't heard in awhile and am now putting on repeat indefinately.

I listen to so much music that picking 3 songs is difficult. But here's some from the last few days. Pretty sure it's a bit less mainstream music too. Awesome bands though.

So yeah, mostly gothic/doom/death-metal lately. Maybe it's the winter lacking all snow making it seem darker... heh.

Dude, that song was originally a song made by Tears for Fears back in the 80's. It came to light once again, when it was interpreted by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules in the 2001 film Donnie Darko, and was then featured in several TV dramas. It is a fantastic, wonderfully performed cover of the original, and should in no way be associated with a muscle-flexing game like Gears of War. My own two cents, of course.

I totally agree with Zero and Blackguy, Christina and Amy Lee both have amazing voices and an absolute pleasure to listen to.

Lately I've listened to:

Hoobastank - Born to Lead

Hoobastank's last album "Every man for Himself" has been in my playlist since it came out about a year ago. All in all the record as a whole is a masterpiece and some of Hoobastanks best work yet, after Pieces. Really recommend it.

Evanescence - Lithium

It's the voice I'm telling you. The last few weeks I've been listening to a lot of Evanescence and this is the crown jewel for me. Amazing voice.

Korn - Freak on a Leash (Unplugged)

I stumbled on Korn on MTV doing their Unplugged concert and surprisingly found it very well done. I usually listen to exactly 2 songs of Korn, but this concert is great. And what else than a duet with Amy Lee to bring forth a great song.
