Rules For... - Fantasy Settings!
« on: January 10, 2008, 10:28:50 pm »
Alright folks, the name of the game is 'Rules For'.  You choose a topic, like "Naming Dark Elves".  Then you come up with rules for it, such as...

Rules for naming Dark Elves
1.  Lots of 'Z's, lots of 'X's, and lots of assonant sounds
2.  Unnecessary punctuation.  If you can, everywhere that there's a break for the next syllable, throw in a hyphen, a comma, or an apostrophe.
3.  No one will notice that your character's name is one letter away from one of Salvatores.  Go for it.  What's the worst that could happen...?

Or, if you prefer...

Rules for Dwarven Characters
1.  You're a Scottsman, a Viking, or a Pirate.  Or a Scottish Viking-Pirate.
2.  Full-plate is a fashion statement.
3.  Beards.  Even if a freak accident involving a colony of shocker lizards, a penguin, and a Paladin of Toran gave you an unexpected dose of electrolysis, rendering you incapable of growing facial hair, you still need a beard.  Or a chin-wig.

Have fun!

    How about:

    Rules for all Halflings
    1. You're so full of boundless energy you can't stand still
    2. You have to open and peek inside everything
    3. You can't ever stop talking unless interrupted by a fight
    4. All of your questions start with why and they are endless
    5. Anything restrictive -including armor- chafes too much and never fits right
    6. Your name may change from introduction to introduction with only a few common terms
