Who said we cant Fly?
« on: December 09, 2010, 01:18:44 pm »
This is an awsome 1080 HD vid!   The camera work lets you see what it would be like to fly...even if just a few seconds.  from 1:15 on is intense, but starting at 2:05 you see why they do it :)

Intense!  That's not flying though, it's falling ...with style. ;)

Oh MY gosh! I am sooo afraid of heights that I would have a heart attack before I even left the cliff.  And to hear the guy breathing hard right before he jumps, what the heck?

you can almost feel his heart skipping beats as he gets ready to jump.  they do it for those heart pumps and the goosebumps that run up their necks after that first step off ;)

Agreed, cb - stepped off a hundred and fifty foot tower, fifty feet of freefall - kid's stuff compared to those guys but still...adrenaline rush!

Indeed!  jumping out of a moving helicopter at 35 ft into water was fun and got the heart racing, but those jumps are just sick and look like a real mind bender!

you were right Chuck..that last video was falling with style...but this one IS flying with style and Speed :)

The red blur that blasts by in the first shot is a man in a wingsuit.  A suit that has been made to create lift.  The runs that these guys take next to these mountains are insane but have to be the best ride ever.  The ratio is falling at 50 mph and moving forward at about 110 mph depending on their angle of trajectory.  The music is pretty good too.

Enjoy!

there's some wing suits (palm fabric in between the arm and the torso, and in between the legs) that actually acts like wings. Giving them ability to have more lateral motions. I've seen videos of people passing through (flying although falling sideways) mountain passes.

ah.. and warchild beat me to the pung lol
