Was just going over this forum looking at things, poison can be used on arrows and melee weapons. I don't know if this would even be hard to code or not, just an idea.

How about being able to use poison on things like canteens, ales, food etc, perhaps something that would either disease/poison the character, or render them blind and knocked over for a short duration?

Think this would be an interesting additon, but what does everyone think?

It would make for great role-play opportunities for those shady people who deal with these sort of things, so of course I think this is a great idea! Naturally, I know nothing about how implementable this is, but still...

Unfortunately, since the ingestion of food is itself a special system, and poisons are a Neverwinter system, both would have to be re-scripted for this to work.  Additionally, with the exception of poisoning food left out as a trap, I can't really see someone accepting food from a shady individual who they don't know.  Candy from strangers, and all that.

Well, just as I thought, then. A bit too complicated to make possible. It can still be role-played to some extent, however.

It's an interesting idea, but how would it be used?  Against an NPC/monster, offering food isn't gong to do any good unless you're dealing with a GM anyway, in which case, you can just RP adding the poison to the food and the GM can determine and apply the effects, if any.

Against other players (either by giving them poisoned food, or using sleight of hand to poison food they already have), this would be considered PvP, which again, already requires OOC interaction, and could therefore be RP'd rather than needing to be dealt with via the game engine.

Yeah I thought it would be a lot of hassle to implement, just have to RP things like that I guess :)
