Monks

According to the D&D player's handbook (can't guarantee it, just heard it from a friend who owns it) once a monk reaches level 20, he gains the ability to communicate with all living things. Maybe you could put in the same rule here, by giving lvl 20 monk all the language ears (or whatever it is that makes you able to speak another language).

The only version of the handbook I had handy was 3.5, but I don't see anything in there about this ability. At 20th level a monk gains "Perfect Self" and is now a magical creature treated as an outsider. I don't see how this though would grant the ability to communicate with all living things.

If I'm not mistaken it was a 3.0 ability that got cut of. The outsider thing remained. Two spells needed adjustment for this and they were Word of Faith and Hammer of the Gods. The SR of the monks shouldn't block them and they should make a save vs. dead on WoF.

It's in my 3.5 book. I think it's called Tounge Under Moon and Stars, or something stupid like that. Just seems to be too complicated for any actual use in game. Also you gained it at level 17.

Also, it isn't so much of an actual language I've come to find. You're more of expressing your thoughts to anything able to listen.
