Move player/guild housing on same server for a fee
« on: April 18, 2007, 08:31:16 pm »
The stereotypical question for a business is:  What are the three most important things about starting a business?  Location, location, location.

I would like to suggest that player housing (including guilds) be allowed to have their front door locations changed to any other available door on the same server for a fee.

I know some on the project team disagree with this saying that towns can not realistically support more than one tavern, or so many houses, or whatever.  If, however, it would turn a house from a storage box into a lively home with visitors, I say forego such nuances.

Power to the people! *pumps fist* Or the very wealthy!

Edit:  This was Pibemanden's idea!  Blame him!

:) I like the idea, although I am sure we cannot support more areas/locations within towns, but I'd think the option to change the transitions of current houses/guild halls would be possible, and a nice addition, may cause you to look twice at that door you've passed 100 times and never wondered what was in there!

I'll definitely second this... This would see some houses that are currently barely used opened up and used quite a bit more.

The fees, of course, would increase with where the house is moving to.

Reading a current thread it seems this is already possible, is that right?

That's correct.  Though since it's a bit of a hassle to do, fees and resources required would be somewhat prohibitive.  (Though it would be nice to see crafting guilds in the Merchants' Quarter).
