    Dungeon Delver PrC
    « on: September 16, 2005, 06:02:00 am »
Has there been any thought to adding a Dundeon Delver Prestige class.  I'm considering playing a Indiana Jones/Laura Croft type character, but I notice there doesn't appear to be a prestige class here for this.

Wouldn't a rogue be a good fit for that kind of role?
There's nothing stopping you from playing your character like that (no guns, of course).  But also recognize that even if we had that PrC, your character could not start life as that PrC.
In the absence of this PrC, you could likely build your character to closely approximate it.

Absolutely, and I'm about to put the character up for approval.  My thoughts on the PrC is that it brings together lore abilities (such as bardic knowledge) and other abilities similar to the Mistone Alliance Scout that Rogues do not have access to and the exclusion of other more common rogue abilities.  I've heard of several versions of this PrC for Neverwinter Nights.  This kind of campaign specific "lore master/delver" can also go a long way in facilitating RP within quest situations as well.

I don't know about Laura Croft,  but a rogue with a lot of points in Lore could be a great Indiana Jones type character.

Indiana Jones would probably be a multiclass Fighter/Expert

Expert being an NPC class that gets something like 6+int skillpoints and gets to choose any 10 skills to be class skills.  They're basically any very good/educated/trained professional, craftsman, or sage.  Indiana jones would have lots of lore and obscure knowledge skills (the whole university professor thing.)

Their BAB progression is the same as a rogue, and will is their high save.

Either pure Rogue or multiclassed Rogue works great
as a dungeon delver. Just do what the others said
and max lore and it's a perfect fit.

As for Indiana Jones and Laura Croft, Indy stomps
Laura Croft any time, any place.

No no no... were talking D&D NWN here... Laura Croft has cleavage... she wins.. all she has to do it take everything off and she is invincible... everyone knows that the less armor a woman wears (in the dungeon delving world) the less injury she takes... just look at all the pictures! Give a naked woman a sword and she will rule the D&D world.

        In that case..
I would *much* rather play an Indiana Jonesish Character... :)

Lara Croft doesn't hold a candle to Indiana Jones.  He's just way cooler.

Well duh, but Doc's statement still holds.  Seriously, when Bris died a couple nights ago, I swear that was just some Bioware problem.  A fluke.  Well, maybe if her boots weren't quite so high.  If she were showing more leg - invincible.

They also have the ability to charm male character without a will save.

Hah! Skarp is a male yet he has "breast charm feat" resistance...

The only known way to resist the effects of this feat is to take the "San Francisco Preference" feat.
