Seeing as to how Hlint is the center of layonara.Due to the fact we all start there.
The toiwn has an influx of people and a high market area.Shouldnt the town Grow into a city.
Mant non-adventurers would flock to Hlint to make their fortunes from adventurers. That means there would be a population boom in Hlint.

I'm sure there are reasons to the starting location but I'm interested in this one as well.  Hlint has a courthouse with an interior the size of blackford castle (yep understand reasons of NWN game mechanics and player # etc...). It's the epicenter of the word it seems, though I suppose we need to remember that while Hlint may be bustling, the percentage that PCs make up of the world's population are less then 1 percent.  Hlint may see a large influx of people, but Port Hampshire should technically see 10 times that at least on a daily basis.  Yet.....with the constant Dragon Call over a period (in game) of decades mayhaps it should be more developed than it is, but *shrugs* Leanthar has his reasons.  Hlint has to be an extremely well known town however by the general populace by now I'd think - so well known that you can almost speculate that want-to-be heroes not called by the Dragon would take interest as well boosting Hlints economy, trade, flux, etc... so that it should have risen from a backwater dirt town to a more developed area.  But then again (second guessing myself here) there aren't many towns with 2 areas, a courthouse, temple, full array of merchants, etc... so then again you can reason it's current state.

Pranzis has 6 areas (7 including haft lake) 2 temples, hotel layonara, full merchants, full crafting except cooking (even advanced craft), the castle, Guilds etc.

Port Hampshire has 3 areas, full merchants, 2 temples (unless you count all the crafting areas as temples), an inn, full crafting, advanced crafting and two player guilds.

Point harbour is just 1 huge area with everything but cooking and advanced craft.

Saudiria has 2 areas, a temple, inn, bank, merchants

Leilon has 2 areas, a temple, player run inn, bank, merchants

---

Lots are as big area and feature wise.  Hlint has a much larger percent standing population of adventurers than pretty much any other place.

And those are all huge cities.

Hlint's just a town that's grown from an old trading post, if I recall.
