The Closed Gates by Bloody Gate

I saw a GM sign put up – saying do not go any further. I did not dare to try opening them but can they be opened?

If the answer is yes – I will hereby ask the GMs strongly to close them. Why?

If you look at rp and ic reason and add realism to it situation. There is no way The Bloody Gate dwarves would leave the gates unguarded or open.
This is not so much because of stupid adventures but more the fact that giant COULD ATTACK AGAIN.

The ooc reason. Even though the gm sign states “don’t go any further” I believe there is most likely 3% of “thick skulled” players who would dare and go there anyway (not pointing fingers).  And I don’t like to see what I have been working for the last 2 years go down the drainage.

But I can sneak or go invisible???????????

Answers before handed:
If people would try to open the gate and sneak/move invisible out – try to open a gates which is 30 feet tall and reinforced with iron without the 10 guards noticing you.

The gates were left unlocked to give characters the choice as to whether or not to proceed.
There are similar signs in other parts of that area related to the contract with Milara. The point of the signs was to warn against, but not prevent, incursions into Milara's claimed territory. In other words yes...we're giving characters the opportunity to violate the terms of the contract, but if they do, they were well-warned.
Incidentally, there is a similar sign on the other side of the gate in the next area (after the transition)
In a "reality" sense, one could just as easily walk around Bloody Gate to get into the mountains, so from that perspective, locking the gate wouldn't address the point.
Also, the sign placement within Bloody Gate is a bit OOC. In "reality" the signs would not be inside of Bloody Gate but rather outside of it. For reasons of game mechanics, however, I put them inside.
I hope that makes a bit more sense.
In either case, it's probable that this will all change in the not-to-distant future, as the term of the contract will soon come to an end, if it hasn't already.
