General Discussion / Re: Stopping by the forums to say howdy.« on: October 27, 2020, 05:45:32 pm »
Long live the Red Caps!
Hope you and your loved ones are doing well! As mentioned, NWN is available for iPad, but not sure about your generation, should probably tell you if you try to purchase it, but not certain. Not sure about the experience roleplaying with it either but hey you never know. Pop on by the Discord if you wanna catch up more! The following users thanked this post: Guardian 452

Good to hear from you Guardian!
Also you don't need a PC to play it anymore. I believe you can play it on a tablet (iPad?) The following users thanked this post: Guardian 452

General Discussion / Re: Returning player - UK time zone« on: July 20, 2020, 02:58:03 am »
I think I might remember Karn. Your player name definitely seems familiar. I mostly play Xiao Lin, a half-elf monk. He was also around many years ago, and made a recent return.
I am also one of the ones who often plays with Silverblades, during the times he mentioned. Hope to see you in-game sometime. - Lane The following users thanked this post: Guardian 452

Layonara Server / Anniversary Bonus Event« on: June 12, 2017, 09:58:31 pm »
Greetings Layonara CommunitySome of you may know that Neverwinter Nights turned 15 this year. Most of you may not know, however, that the NWN incarnation of Layonara also turns 15 in just a couple of weeks. In observance of these major milestones, we will be holding an anniversary Bonus Event, starting Saturday, June 24th and running for about a month. During this period, XP, Fortune and gold drops will all be doubled. As with previous bonus events, the doubling of XP and Fortune will also apply to GM rewards for quests and RP.This event overlaps with another anniversary event targeted at the greater NWN community known as the Neverwinter Nights Player Appreciation Days (NWPAD). The details of the event are somewhat uncertain as yet, but if anyone wants to keep up with the news on NWPAD, here’s a link:https://neverwintervault.org/comment/31548Once we have something more definite on that schedule, we’ll be sure to update everyone with the details. Thanks to everyone who has played here over the last 15 years!

General Discussion / Considering a return« on: June 16, 2015, 08:34:43 am »
So its been a few years but having never found a better server for RP by both players and DM's alike I am considering a return.I am well all is said and done butt a** lazy though so have a few questions....Are my characters still avilable and if so can I play them or will I need to create new ones?Is the stuff my characters still had still accessable by them? Not expecting them to have retained a house or anything, more bank accounts and storage.Where/how is the best way to discover what has been happening while I was away. I'm dyslexic so a wall of forum posts will make me go watch TV instead

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Travel within Game« on: March 30, 2015, 03:02:07 pm »
The new pawnshop quest system(which I think is great) has made me more aware of how difficult travel can be to some locales in the game. A package delivery to Fort Thunder comes to mind. It would seem the only options are to fight, go invisible, or forego the trip. Possibly another option could be added in selected cities/routes .Add a 'caravan'(portal) in say for example Arnex and Fort Thunder. It would, I think cost coin for a character ( could a party go ?) to use this option. I don't know if the coding would allow such but it would be interesting if this caravan ( portal) was not 100% foolproof :Perhaps there would be a 5 0r 10% chance that it 'fails' .. in which case you are then ported to an area to face the bandits or whatever the threat might be (possibly with some NPC 'caravan guards' as friendly. This is similar to the old Baldurs Gate 1 area transition routine.I will admit I have no insight to the coding involved , or even possible or the level of interest, but there it is.Thanks

Ask A Gamemaster / Bird Messages: Free for Rangers/Druids?« on: March 14, 2015, 05:26:56 pm »
Even though the paltry sum of 25gp is hardly bank busting for bird messages, I was wondering if it would be an appropriate nod to rangers, druids and clerics with animal domains to be able to send these for free and if it would be too much trouble coding for the system to check that. I could imagine specifically the Bird Lord being exempt from paying the falconeer prices for birds. Maybe though this true could be RPed as donations to the Layonara Bird Preservation Fund or some nature instead of to the Falconeer.

Layonara Server / Version 3.51 is online!« on: March 01, 2015, 04:42:46 pm »Version 3.51 is online! This was a quick fix I updated with yesterday (and a hotfix on Friday) that I didn't get the chance to summarize the small details out.Fixes:
Additions:
Consecrate symbol no longer destroys the old amulet and creates a copy of the properties on the ugly yellow thing. It simply updates the tag properly and changes the name to include (Consecrated)[/li]
Created a new journal book called A Book of Fixes and moved some of the actions to there.[/li][li] Introduced a fix to the ultravision, true seeing and darkness bug where after it wears off you couldn't see any players any more. This was only corrected with a relog before but now you can just use =c fixuvbug[/li][li] The old emote wand used to be used to save a ton of variables related to spell casting but those vars were moved to the gem of rememberance. A new function replaces the wand with a clean one if they have one.[/li]
Other updates:
