Trade and Market Hall / Looking for Jewelcrafter!!!
« on: December 02, 2010, 08:11:41 am »
To whom it may concern,
I am in need of an experienced jewel crafter, i require 2 rings to help me move with the agility of a cat, and similiar a necklace of the same variety.
Also i wouldnt mind purchasing 2 rings to help me with lifting heavy amounts of ore for my arrow crafting....
I have 5 diamonds in the raw to help offset the cost to make these necessary items.

If your interested post here and meet me in Center i will be able to provide any compensation you require for these items provided it is reasonable.

Regards
Ilsares Archer of love Sairalinde..

General Discussion / For your considerations!
« on: December 01, 2010, 12:55:57 am »
Just a thought, i have recently returned from a hiatus due to work reasons its good to see the community still strong :), sad to see some old faces missing but there are also plenty of new faces.

Just a thought, there are plenty of NWN communities still playing strong out there, i have look at some and to be honest they lack the overall flair that this one does, however they seem to have more players flocking to them in droves, i ask why is this?

The systems in place for lower levels to rise to a fairly reasonable level to deal with a variety of the dangers present, i believe that the leveling curb may be a bit steep for newer levels, whilst i am aware balance is important, but having excessively high amounts of experience required to level in the early stages seems a bit overwhelming for those just joining the world especialyl when they do not know any other players.

I understand that these higher level thresholds were established to deter players from powerleveling, but in reality it just restricts powerleveling to groups, and it will still happen, overall pushing away from the roleplaying experience. I do not think for a moment that at the higher levels of 15+ that it should change, but i feel that to draw more players you have to give them something they can achieve, and feel as though they are making some kind of headway in the world, especially since not all of us are able to make it to quests at 4am in the morning our time.

Just a little food for thought to start a discussion, im curious to find out what you think?, ultimately its not our vision to tamper with, but im just trying to think of ways we can pull more people into this wonderful community, and retain them.

This is only one way i can think of that doesnt undermine the community with many new powerful characters, but i think it would also help those in the community that have a few powerful characters and would like to try a different concept.

What are your thoughts?

Wild Surge Inn / Among the loud roar of the inn...
« on: October 01, 2007, 12:02:36 am »
*You spot a ilsarian archer moving around for table to table asking questions to those seated at them, from where you are seated you hear that she is looking for a arcane archer by the name of Jacchri Abianca, she also seems very interested in hearing any tales of his exploits, & skills with the bow*

*She reaches your table and finally asks you the question, "I am looking for Jacchri Abianca, for training, would you happen to know where he is or perhaps some tales of his exploits?. If you were to oblige im sure i could organise the next round to be on me*Giggles*"*

Rumour Has It / The one that got away..
« on: September 23, 2007, 11:31:13 pm »
Rumor has spread among Port Hempstead of a dark elf being captured very recently outside the city, from what you can gather from the local townsfolk, although none are conclusive as to why the Dark Elf was captured nor why it was allowed to leave the city unharmed.

Some say it was the act of many brave but now corrupted adventurers, that stood on the side Dark elf, while others say the officials feared the curse that she swore would be placed upon the city should they keep her locked up or harm her.

Many say she was clad in the colours of Ilsare, and seemed to be rather attached to her symbols representing that god.
She was last seen exiting the city under the protection of some famed adventurers.

*This book is written in Dark Elf, so it is readable by only those who can speak it*

I escaped... I dont know how but i managed to get free of those ruthless slavers.......... *The rest of this paragrapth is not ledgible due to blood droplets*

In the cover of night after an ambush i was able to take cover in the woods, and after many hours i stumbled upon a hut.

I needed to get a disguise to protect myself from these savages on the surface, i cant survive without deceit it seems....
I took a robe made of red that was hanging from a line, and a bow by the well, one day i may repay them if i ever pass this way i may....

Anyway, from what i can tell... i am near a place called port Hempstead, i dont even know where the temple is from here, i will have to find some locals who are not out to kill me...
Granted my race does give them reason, but i have not given them a reason personally... although they have certainly given me reasons.

Anyway... i must observe the locals further... they will surely hurt me if i am discovered, i must be cautious, i do not want to die just yet, and if this is truly port hempstead then i am probably in the worst place possible for my kind....

Fixed Bugs / Drow - Possible bug?
« on: September 03, 2007, 11:47:51 pm »
Bug description -
Drow sub-race with the -1 ab race effect not working as intended?
Ive been wandering on this character and if i say in a area long enough, the -1 ab seems to continously add onto my character...
Is the effect supposed to keep on stacking?, from what i read i figured it was a one off effect where it hits with - 1 in total.
I would appreciate some feedback on this.
*Not food and drink related ethier, sometimes also when you transition between light and dark you can lose AB points permanently till you rest, for instance when it went dark i sat at +8 instead of my +10 then when rested it went back to its norm...

General Discussion / A Discussion on leveling.
« on: August 29, 2007, 06:31:10 pm »
Hi everyone, please try and keep this constructive and well free of any kind of flaming, as what i say is my opinion, and im open to what you all have to say.

Now that thats out of the way, something occured to me recently, with the new layonara set to be rearing its head next year?, and nwn pretty much being left for dead...

I had a thought, why is it many have dropped out, and then it occured to me, its time investment, many cannot bare to make new characters or even push their old ones because of time investment in leveling.

Dont get me wrong i have quite enjoyed the slow journey of raising through the levels, and the risk in dieing, but i couldnt do it again not now...
I really want to see all of these new areas, i really want to see what all of those really high level places have to offer yet it seems the bulk of the players are ethier in mid twenties or around 18 ish...

And well when this chapter is about to close, dont you think it might be a little more fun to open up the other interesting parts of the server to the mainstream by lessening the level time investment..

Aye some of you might say attend a quest or two to get this exp, but i say i rarely see any that are not halfway through a plot line, or are closed for some reason or another and the others are just in a different timezone entirely... And yes i do respect the Gm's have lives and all that im just saying its not really a viable option..

What im talking about is not streamlining powerleveling, but rather unrestricting it a bit, by lessening that large barrier, it would certainly make it much more interesting in my belief....

And it would encourage more people to play some new characters as the investment of time would be lower then what it is now..
Dont get me wrong i didnt come to layonara to powerlevel up to 40 and flaunt my power or build over others... no not at all, im suggesting more along the lines of pushing more up into the low 30's and making 20 something the commonish level...

Anyway i hope i made sense, let me know your thoughts on the matter, and perhaps suggestions to the problems i have talked about, i look forward to reading what you think.

*Note this is her second diary after years of after losing her old one, also note i usually text this as im playing and fix it up and post it in large chunks when im ready to play around with it and make it hopefully interesting*

So it has been awhile since i last wrote an entryi into a diary.... I just couldnt bring myself to it, these past years have been some of the most painful of my life.....
The sun has been been nowhere to be seen, the loves of my life & my friends i have not seen in a great number of years.... I wonder if they still walk the lands as living breathing souls.... Who knows really.

On a lighter note i have finally finished perfecting my shapechange & my wailing banshee, both seem to have great uses and ive done it without corrupting my own ideals i think....

I do hope that this progression is not what pushes me that final step towards him....
I wish my dreams were not something i feared every time i closed my eyes *This part of the text is indecipherable due to tear drops smudging the writing*

....One day, i will be done with it...

Roleplaying / To unsual parenthood! Thoughts.
« on: August 20, 2007, 09:08:33 pm »
Due to a quest last night Sabrissia has gone from a solo adventurer to a single parent of a lovely Gnoll baby.
While it is very vicious when its hungry she has found it to be quiet when its content.
From what i can tell from various resources these creatures live a similiar life span to a human but are adults at the age of 14.
They will eat meat raw or cooked, and drink water.
However what i am unsure of is if they have any possibility of being aclamated into society, if they have the ability to recognise speech.
I assume however since they can use magic they must have some way of grasping this knowledge.

She was intelligent enough to think that it was a bad idea but not wise enough to say no to taking it :)
So she is stuck with it, and being the good natured person she is she will raise it as best she can.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this, and any tips you can offer to gnoll baby raising besides regualar hair cuts, steel gloves, and regular baths *Grins*.

I must say  you Pseudonym, hehe where am i supposed to hold this baby when weaving in the phanny pack that acacea made me? Aww :O joking, your quest was fun as usual.
