It's usually a good idea to think through in a RP-perspective, not just rolling because someone will get a natural 20.

Also, since NWN doesn't distinguish between Lore(Toran's Paladins' Dirty Secrets) and Lore(Milara's Hobbies in His Spare Time), a Wizard's Lore check may differ from a Fighter's Lore check.

The three island Talimar, Calishan, and Alibor were formerly known as the Kingdom of Roldem and were setup to be the Eastern Asian cultures when I wrote their backgrounds.  Unfortunately Blood trashed the place before he was defeated, and the "Roldemian" culture is on a decline. See the handbook for more information

*Athus sends his reply to Rawkwin*

Dear Rawkwin,

It is unfortunate that such evil still roams this world. Please send me a meeting time when one is determined and I will be at the Lifegiver's temple.

Ahem, well eh, I know I said I was back, but as you may be counting, I went on another month of hiatus...this time, however, I'm really really back, unfortunately, I don't have access to NWN at home (on the fleeting summer break that only have one week left), so I will be officially back in this GM business *next* weekend when I escape from this technological prison.

I'm really sorry to cancel today's episode.  Some important stuff came up and I had to take care of those first.  Since Ice can't make to the 25th, we will take two week break.

For the session on Sunday, please note that there's a level restriction of 13+ because the challenge level of the locations the party is going to travel to.  It will be returned to normal once Firesteep and Thunder Peaks have been cleared.

Hiya folks...since there's still guests in my house and it will take a bit for them to prepare and leave, I gotta delay the quest for an hour to kick them out :)

Per the calendar, there will be no Pieces of Seven this Saturday because of the poll worker training session for the upcoming election.  The series will continue the next day as scheduled.

General Discussion / Re: Ummm Army?
« on: June 04, 2006, 06:11:20 am »
Granted I don't have the personal experience of serving in the military, I had quite a few advises from my mentor, a retired US Navy Commander.

1) Read the contract carefully.  As Chongo said, they can usually write stuff they promise onto the contract if you are highly qualified.  Just the word of the recruiter doesn't count.

2) Try to be an Officer if at all possible.  There are plenty of full-ride military scholarship (not sure if this applies in Canada) that puts you through college in ROTCs.  Officers gets better pays, rooms, etc.

3) Being in the military is like all other jobs.  Don't be tricked into signing up just because of the recruiting ads making you feel "honorable" or "sacrificing for your country is great." Be prepared for the reality of the services, especially Army.

Since my cheerleading sister deleted NWN on the laptop at home, I'm reinstalling everything right now and downloading the hakpacks. The quest will go on but the starting time is delayed one hour.  I apologize for any inconvience.
