Rouge and Bard don't belong in either.

Cleric and Druid can be in both.

And, it seems to me that mages are the one with trouble, unless they have a nasty summon. They have one chance to kill all the badies, before they get rushed.

I'de take the Bear's endurance amulet. Or if that is the splendiferous one the gnome wanted, I'll take the ring.

Weapons:

The elf archer has unlimited ammunition.

The dwarf has twenty plus throwing axes. And can still sprint. For hundreds of miles. Without sleep. In a day. After all, he is a dwarf.

If the gnomish character has a gun or some other futuristic projectile weapon, he'll be able to find ammuntion at any town, even if it is the only weapon of its kind.

The close ranged weapons never wear down, unless its plot related. You can beat 100 armored orcs to death with a wooden stick, and it won't break till the hero tosses it aside. Also, steel/iron weapons never rust.

If the hero's weapon DOES break, it is plot related. If it is a normal sword, he gets a new magic one. If it is his magic sword, it breaks while he's fighting the Villian, and he kills him with the hilt.

The Hero MUST be the best looking character in the entire novel, and if he is ugly that will be fixed later down the road. The Villian needs to be hidiously scarred, or missing various limbs in the very least, in order to assure that even though he rules the world, he is in no way as cool as our Hero.

Quote from: Pseudonym

#1. The grizzled ex-champion
There is always a grizzled ex-gladiator/champion who teaches our would-be hero how to fight. At first, the ex-champion (who had been demoted from his original position either due to having being defeated in melee by the main enemy or, more likely, by adhering to his iron code of honour even though it would inevitably lead to his banishment/firing) rubs our hero up the wrong way with his gruff manner and blunt manner of speech. Eventually the two become inseparable, the hero winning the implacable teacher's respect and admiration when he eventually disarms him during a training session.

Extra points if the champion dies of a) poisen, but slowly so he can give a parting secret to the Hero or b) dies while holding off the main villian.

I've always thought of shadow daze as a branch off of shadow illusion. The same basic ability, moving shadows, one just creates an image while the other is creating an image to distract and dazzle the opponent.

Appologies to Mylindra:

Mylindra was walking through the forest when big foot jumps out of the forest and attacks her.
Desperate she screams out "Save me Rofirein!"
The god comes out of the skies and says "I thought you didn't believe in me anymore."
Mylindra replies "Up till a minute ago i didn't believe in big foot either."

I probably should have let this thread die.

Voltrex is not on west.
When you start on west for the first time, you have two options of where to start the game (Hempstead and Vhel). Voltrex is simply the most elven continent of them all, but elves can be from anywhere. I play a half-elf from some backwater town, but he could have easily been full elven. You probably won't see Voltrex for a long time, if ever. Its simply a place you could RP as having come from.

Elven groups, just look around. Elves are a pretty common race.

If you fail a CDQ, good luck and try later. There are rules as to how often you can have them run so you just have to wait on that.

Writing journals, I'm pretty sure you'll have to do it. RP effort is good, but you need to write down whats going on in your characters thoughts to things occasionally, along with motives.

I'm sorry, layonara is not the answer.

Layonara will not get you a wii.
Layonara will not get you a PS3.
Layonara will replace the two above in time.

Roleplaying / Re: Lying.
« on: May 07, 2007, 09:28:53 pm »
I have a TN character as well, and he can almost be described as a conman. Still, I try to stay away from rolls because A) the other player sees the roll and starts to metagame, knowing that you are lying and B) it can make someone feel like they have to go along with the lie, even if it is obvious.

"Lets go for a walk." *persuade check* 20+3=23.
I now think that there is something planned (mugging and kidnapping come to mind) and want to stay away, but the amazingly high roll makes me feel I should go. The facts behind the situation, and how well the character is playing off the lie should determine whether you believe him or not.

Pirates of the Caribean... I think I'm the only one in my family that understood what happened at the end of the last one.
"Who is that guy and why is he eating an apple?!?"

Moving on...
I saw Spiderman Three today, it was pretty good. The ending, even if rushed, was better than the last one. If they had just ended it five minutes soon in number 2...
Anyhow, its worth the money to go and see, but its not all that it was made out to be.

Especially with the race limits on towns. I saw an orc in the middle of Hempstead, just standing around a group of five people or so. I saw him later, and confronted him (IC) about the town, its laws, and then made sure he left. I didn't send a tell, but I didn't sense hostility.
