She turns to her ox.

She takes another quick look at the sign.

She begins to look around and, rather loudly, toward anyone in view, she says, "Kali! Where you is?! Casslin need to find you!*

Welcome back! I am quite new here myself, but we have already had a chance to meet in game, and I must say, you are doing quite well. I'm sorry to hear of your recent RL issues, but I'm glad to see you are getting yourself centered again. Keeping yourself distracted with something creative is always healing. Good for you! After looking at your profile, I just realized that we live just a stones throw (or max ride) away from each other! My family and I live in the Aloha area.

Gvhe wanders to her favorite fishing spot at the Lake of Glass. She loves the quiet, the solitude, and soft shade of the trees. As she sits in the soft grass, holding her fishing pole and awaiting a bite, something across the lake catches her eye. Placing her pole against a nearby berry bush to hold it from going into the water, she ventures over for a closer look. There, she spies a small chest, tucked carefully amongst the tall reeds. She sniffs the air and realizes that someone was there just shortly before her arrival. Not disturbing the chest, she returns to her fishing, keeping careful watch on the chest from a distance.

Yes, I found it too late last night. It is just inside one of the Dapplegreen zones between Vehl and Hempstead, sorry I do not remember which one, but you cant miss it. I asked those who were on at the time, but no-one had seemed to have misplaced it. There were two pelts inside. I was not sure whether the pack would poof after a time, or on server reboot, so I took the pelts out and are saving them for whomever lost their pack. Just PM me with what kind they are, we can meet up in game, and I'll gladly return them.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions, they are greatly appreciated. I do think though, that we have nicely hashed out the boulders of this issue and are now down to smooth cobblestones.
The confusion I felt is now gone and the boundaries are more clear in my mind. I had not done anything against the rules, and most likely, the GM was just giving me a reminder to RP a situation I had not truly thought out.
Although I wish there had been a bit more information at the time, I also could have asked for more information if I was confused. It was late, we were both tired, and the GM was most likely multi-tasking fingers to the bone. Therefore, no harm - no foul - just miscommunication on both our parts.
*tucks this thread tightly into bed before it gets cranky*

While taking a relaxing nap at the campfire at the Crossing, Gvhe hears a rustling that turns her attention toward the pile of stacked firewood nearby. Attached only by a small twig and tattered hole in it's center, hangs a piece of wind blown parchment. Gvhe works it loose gently and pears at the page. She turns it slowly and squints her eyes, trying to spy something familiar. Glassy eyed, she begins to sniff at the parchment. Suddenly, her eyes widen and a bright smile comes to her face, "Brruhbrreee!" After Rolling the parchment gently and placing it into the large leather pouch at her side, she sets off to find her small friend.

Thank you for the comments and suggestions, everyone. I was feeling quite disheartened, and now my spirits are raised once again.
I seem to have gotten stuck in the 'not allowed to do that' thought process. Perhaps the comment was just a suggestion to RP, and not a slap on the hand. More information at the time would have been a good thing, but I think I may have over-reacted because I was tired.
To that end, I'm sorry if I misunderstood.
Let the games commence!

I do understand that I can use the merchants and such in Vehl, and I have been. Merchants, etc, was not actually my point of issue, rather the what and where I am allowed to be, and in what form I can do that without breaking steadfast rules. I see now that not all the rules are steadfast, as long as I RP my away round them. I guess I need to think more outside the box, while trying also to stay in it, so to speak.

Fantastic!
I have found a solution that is not only pertinent, but darn fun too!
As Gvhe is illiterate, tribal, and nomadic, it seems to me that songs, stories, petroglyphs, and pictographs would be the way her kind would pass on knowledge. So, after seeing Bumblebee the Brownie scribbling with ink and quill in a book, Gvhe mimicked and found that with a claw and the ink, she could draw pictures on the strange leaves of a book that she found. With her drawings (screenshots and photoshop) and my notes on what they mean, I've got a workable plan!
Thank you to all for your suggestions, they really got the wheels turning in the right direction!
