Dorgy could have said "No Jaigan in case you didn't know that's considered an exploit. Please don't do it, thanks".

 Followed by deleting my post.

Instead you you make me out to be some sort of vetern NWN hacker terrorizing your game. I suspose using that method to fix blank stats on items is also an exploit? In anycase your reply is rather offensive to my carebear feelings ;)  and not everyone is as well informed about the game as you.

But hey sorry for being ignorant, and not thinking in a malicious manner before posting.

hehe, a bandage needs to be applied after cleaning the wounds, and to do that I would think you would have to remove some clothing. if the char lets you bind their wounds then I would say its a safe bet you know just who they really are. ;)  interesting point.

I kind of think class is class, and it sould not really matter how they live after the fact. it's like saying a country music singer can't like rap... sometimes they do :P

If said person wears gold fullplate armor with a helm, then 2 weeks later said person shows up someplace else with different silver fullplate with a different style helm your not gonna recognize him. when he talks you still won't know simple becuase the helmit is shaped differently therefore changing the ammount of muff and echo comming out of it.

I can see most people still have the superman adventurer system in full swing. you read fantasy novels, watch movies, and read history books it's pretty obvious how easy it is/was to fool people especially back in the midevil times. Now of course there is always a few exceptions but not in the way it's being played out in game. If you want some evidence on how people are metagaming the "knowing who you are" get 2 people one a normal elf and one a darkelf and slap a hood on both of them and walk up to people and you'll notice 9/10 of them somehow sniff out the darkelf even though the guy next to him is wearing the same thing they don't get harassed. I've seen it happen a few times myself I even had to step in and say "hey I'm wearing a helm too some people just like it that way" just so the darkelf could still hang out and have fun.

but hey that's just how it works in the real world and most fantasy novels maybe here on Layo it's perfectly natural to have "spidersense" to sniff out evil races hehe :p

Also as a reminder, Cities have people, even though you don't see them they do in fact have lots of people moving around them, your average cloak, coat and armors are not all custom made they are in fact very popular for adventurers so just becuase you see said person wearing dark coat and hood you remember that dark coat and hood on said person so you know who they are, that's not remembering that said person is 1 of hundreds of people wearing that dark coat and hood. There is just know way your going to remember every person wearing a dark coat and hood just aint happening unless you got maybe an INT of 100 or have photographic memory supported in your char Bio lol.;)

the bit about I remember how they walk and act and this and that, I can agree with to a point, however if they are just showing up and not the focus of attention it's very unlikely you'll notice any sort of trait, and even more so did you emote the notice? I do think you should always emote a triat so there is a log to support your char noticing. at the same time did said char emote a trait to begin with?

*A man wearing a dark coat and hood silently walks into the tavern, like a panther stalking it's prey, he goes to the back where its darkest and leans on the wall casually watching over the patrons drinking their ales and eating their meals, when asked for somethign to drink he simple nods a no and ignores the barmaid*

In that, we can clearly see some traits, the way he walks, the fact he preferes the back of the tavern to be alone and not noticed. That he is watchful, and he only talks when needed. the chances of remembering this person is pretty good if you in fact notice him that night.

*while drinking her ale she notices the man in a dark coat and hood enter the tavern and make his way to the back where the lights are dim, she takes an interest at the way he walks and his ever watchful eyes as well as the way he brushes off the barmaid with a nod*

Now, this women can in fact notice this man at a later date, why because she did in fact have something to notice, as well as emoting the notice. People hiding their identity need to emote more, people notcing need to emote it, why? lets start with the number one reason, We are an RP server!! haha. This thread has gone from one side being too agresive to the other side not trying hard enough, but really both sides are not being fare to each other, emote, emote, emote! give us something to work with, and in return let them get away with things that you should probably not be able to notice. it's all about fun and in an RP world I think having my char not know is just as fun as having him know.

That's just the way I see it anyways.:p

Well to remember someones voice, I don't think it would be a listen check, all that does is tell them that yes they do hear you. I would think it would be more of an INT check, and unless they are an orc, or someone like steel it should be a high roll. on the otherhand, if you have done something that stands out say chased a girl all the way to hempstead from fort vehl :p your voice is something that would stick out in peoples minds relevent to that situation.

The magic number for me is 3, after three times partying with someone I will always remember them from their voice. providing they talk and they normaly do ;)

[INDENT] Red, blue, white, green, and many more colors of magicical lights swirl and wrap around something unseen, slowly as the shape begins to form the lights begin reinforcing the shape until the object forms into a man. The magic begins to unwrap and the colors fade away leaving only the colors that make up the clothing and parts of Jaigan Drakand. Counting each of his fingers arms, legs and some other parts he considers important he stretches outs some before walking out of the portal landing area in Fort Wayfare.

"Greetings Sir. What do you have for me?, *a halfling calls out lacking any sort of interest  as though she just wanted to get the question out of the way.*
"Oh, nothing today Kitkit, I've only the clothes on my back"
*with a frown and a glare she replies*
"You never have anything, I think you just be hating my shop, I do."

With a smile Jaigan insists he will have something interesting next time he is by and takes a drink of water before heading to the south gate towards Hempstead.

"Iracce anirama."
*looking around for the speaker of the greeting in his native tongue he replies to the familiar voice*
"Lae E laaa aey'ela oeylw sa ilvilel"
Jaigan see's the speaker as she pulls her hood down slightly shielding herself from the sunlight given off a chuckle quietly in a low voice, but soft then replying in common to his comment
"It wasn't hard"
*grining slightly Jaigan looks up at the sun*
"I don't tend to make myself hard to find in the blazing sun"
*A brief smile passes her lips beneath the shadows of her hood before she responds*
"Perhaps you need more practice then."
A few moments later as they exchange greetings Lalaith glances at the sky, as if the sun were bothering her.
"Perhaps a walk?" *as she gestures to the gate while smiling in a peculiar manner*

After awhile the two came to a well shaded area surrounded by trees

"Better the trees at least give some comfort by their shadows."
*with a slight grin Jaigan take another sip of water* "take it you don't get much sun?"
*shaking her head, she does not answer*
"I prefer the moonlight myself, *Jaigan adds in*

Looking more relaxed and comfortable she tells Jaigan the sun has its place, smiling slightly and how she does not regret the day the shadows took over the Layonara skies catching herself she abruptly states that she is not here to talk about her and asks Jaigan in a more serious tone.

"You still look to the shadows?" *watching Jaigan carefully waiting for his answer*
 "Yes, *he replies*

For the next few hours Jaigan talks about how he has practiced her exercises as instructed, that he has acquired a sixth sense sort of thing for finding the right places and knowing where they are without needing to stop and look. He explained how he feels welcomed within the shade of things and as if they were reaching out to him wherever he walked. She was most pleased that Jaigan had done all the exercises she had asked of him, much more so then her last student who she had often caught distracted and not focusing on his training.

The Training they held this day though was not about hiding, Jaigan had explained to her how though he was hiding perfectly he was still discovered within the protection of the shadows because of his careless footing on things that go *snap* and *creek* as he rubbed his head she gave an amused laugh and decided the lessons today would be all about awareness and moving silently. After several attempts to silently sneak up to her she showed Jaigan a book, as he read the words under the title of One with the Land he suddenly felt much more aware. Giving another go at sneaking up on her he finally succeeded a surprise as much to herself as his own.

Nearing the end of the training he asks her if there is anything else he can do that can exercise the ability to help awaken it fully. She begins to tell him that there are quicker ways that she has heard of.  But they are not the best... nor a route she would recommend. After a moment of considering she said there are places on Layonara where the ties to the shadows are known to be strong Alindor's is one, the old elven ruins known as The Broken halls is another further explaining that In Alindor the shadows speak, whispers can be heard from the depths and at the ruins, the link to the shadows has grown strong over the years and you will see many shadows that can better awaken the ability. And with that she said her farewell and vanished into the night.
