Gog shrugs. He never understood what people wanted with parchment and such.

"Hun'red?"

Eyvind has run Windows for years with no antivirus software and never been infected with anything but transient stupidity and the occasional cold.

Gog greets Unther with a grin.

He looks at his pile, "Amfists?" He digs through his pile some, not having a clue what Amethysts are. He gives up, says "Oke," and let's Unther pick them out himself.

Gog walks by on his way back to the pile. He sees some people reading a poster and approaches. He can't read any of it, so he asks a terrified half-elf "wut eet sez." The half-elf explains that they are fixing things in elf-country and that they need money and such. Gog asks if he "wud get sumfing fer 'elp to build," but the half-elf ran away.

//[LORE]Voltrex[/LORE] needs updating, perhaps: "Little is known about Voltrex, for the continent is off limits to all but noble elves, a rule which is policed vigilantly."

One of the Cure Light Wounds potion vials breaks as Unther grabs the Cougar Skins. Silly dorf. Gog shrugs and grins stupidly as he stuffs his newly earned True into his bag. The bag overflows and Gog decides to go to the bank with some of it.

Several hours later he returns, hauling a freshly filled bag of stuff. He pours it onto his pile:

  • Arrow, Copper Tipped Hickory Falcon Tail x 20
A bit better than normal arrows ((+1 piercing damage))
  • Copper Bullets x 99
For all your slinging needs. These just roll around on the floor, go ahead and pick them up.
  • Copper Greataxe x 1
A remarkably not great axe, at least it's big.
  • Endurance (scroll) x 1
    Weaklings rejoice!
  • Expeditious Retreat (scroll) x 1
    Cowards rejoice!
  • Mineral Amethyst x 2
    Purple.
  • Raspberry x 7
    Will stain shirts. Also yummy.
  • Shield Crafting Kit x 1
Will turn any board into the pretty shield of your choice.
  • Skinning Knife x 1
Can be used for stabbing. Or skinning.
  • Woodcutter's Axe x 1
Can be used for cleaving limbs. Or wood.
((Pile updated.))

Gog stands up and looks down at Unther, grinning.

"Erm," he fumbles with the box, looking inside it. He puts it down and takes out a small bag of True. Taking out a coin he slams it down on the table and says, "Fousand uv dese."

He looks at the pile of skins. "En dem... fi'e hunred?" he points.

He looks uncertain for a moment, then looks back at Unther and grins again. "Hahahar. You no carry dem, you too littol." Grabbing a handful of corn kernels, he tosses them in the Scroll Box, "'ere, dese mek you grew up strong en big."

I have yet to hear a reason behind drinking alcohol or consuming similar drugs that I can understand.

I don't live a drug-aided existance.

Hundreds of musical notes a minute, specifically produced from one electric guitar.

Great, thank you. Silly of me to think that my question was rhetorical.

Time constraints might take Wagner off the list; its about 12 hours long in total :(

I quite enjoy listening to long pieces, whether it's a single song or a concert. It makes the listening experience more smooth and flowing than a playlist of random, shuffled songs.

On that note, I recommend Alive 1997 and Alive 2007 by Daft Punk. Discovery is also quite enjoyable to listen to, especially if you have seen Interstella 5555 and keep the story going in your head as you listen. As individual tracks, most of Daft Punk's other works are great too.

Children by Robert Miles is probably my favourite electronica track.

As far as rock goes, I love many individual songs from a plethora of bands: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Guns 'n' Roses, Kiss, Radiohead, and the list goes on. I enjoy classic rock much more than essentially any other, except perhaps hard rock and metal.

Lordi is wonderful. So is Rammstein. Many other hard rock and metal bands have made single or few great songs, and I have some lying around but they are simply too numerous and I don't think I can remember any on the spot.

The problem with rock for me is that so much of it is just inharmanic bashing on drums, screaming (or, alternatively, mumbling) in microphones, and whatever horrible act they perform on those poor guitars, all equalized and amplified so horribly I can't imagine anyone truly enjoying hearing it.

And what the fazookas is speedcore anyway?

I also enjoy ethnic music, but ethnic music is quite hard to come by and when I do find them I rarely care what they're called or who made it since it's generally irrelevant. So no help there, I suppose.

If you want good classical music, your best bet is looking for classical music in general. Whatever you find will be good, courtesy of time and circumstance.

Level 11
Spent approximately half my life in each of two highly contrasting western cultures, and now beginning in my third.

Monk / Cleric
None of that martial arts stuff, dexterity, heavy armor, or religiously devout.
More self-contemplating and empathetic. I have been called self-destructive, but I think that's an exaggeration.

I am no good with these ability scores, they don't add up.
Strength: 10
I am not particularly strong, but family looks to me for heavy lifting.

Constitution: 12
Long distance running, biking, and hiking is my thing.

Dexterity: 12
Off my feet it wouldn't go far beyond casual gaming.

Intelligence: 12
Only because I am fluent in two languages and adequate in two more.

Wisdom: 12
Being self-contemplating would be little use without a bit of this, and without being self-contemplating I would hardly be able to post this at all.

Charisma: 12
I'm not particularly attractive, at least not by my own standards. I have some strength of personality.

Skills:
Concentration: 5 (If I'm motivated)
Discipline: 4 (Not great, but I manage)
Perform: -5 (I'm sure you know)
Use Magic Device: 5 (If it was any higher I would know this box wasn't magic, I'm still skeptical)

Feats:
Artist (Has nothing to do with Perform, purely visual)
Humanoid Shape (I'm surprised not more of you chose this.)
Sleep
Still-Mind

Good enough

We have the young, and we have the young at heart.

There are also those of us who are young and stupid, who imply that they are older than they are and on a certain level wish that they really were older. They try to sound wise to cover it up, have trouble telling people what they do for a living, where they live, who they live with, what they do during the day, and what their favorite colors are. They try to sound wise on occasion, they fail and end up appearing younger and more foolish than they might really be. And in the rare instances when they realize that they might fail, they slap some self-irony on it. People like me. I suppose they also generalize to appeal to their conformist side.

Don't feel out of place, no one really is.

Kind of harsh to call it a design flaw, but in any case...

So by this, that means that there won't be any "flaws" with half-giants...because there won't be any half-giants.

I apologize. I did not mean to sound harsh. I only wish the best for the Layonara MMO.

I suppose the essence of what I am trying to say is that I hope the MMO will not have restrictions on characters that don't have clear lore rationale behind them.

It's not a Design Flaw. Remember that Neverwinter Nights, the medium through which we play in the world of Layonara, is Dungeon and Dragons at the Core, Rule Set 3.0, and was not designed to make Layonara possible. It was designed as the game Neverwinter Nights. All of what has become Layo so far has been hard work for All involved, and trying to find a code to work around the Alignment issue for Half Giants is not something on anyones "must fix" list with an MMO in the works. Also keep in mind that when the MMO comes out, there will be no half giants, no half orcs, no half ogres or half elves. The only half-anything will be a Ling... a Halfling (and maybe a Quarterling aka Brownie). So really it's for now just a "this is how it is and it's not changing" sorta thing until the MMO, where it will be a non issue for stated reasons. This borders on asking why a Paladin has to be lawful good, when an order Like Rofirein's Knights, a Lawful Neutral God, can't match their Gods alignment.

My point was that if this carried over into the MMO, it /would/ be a design flaw. I am only hoping that it won't be carried over, and from this thread it seems reasonably certain that my hopes will be answered.

the next time you log in if you were to make an adjustment from Neutral to Lawful, you would be booted from the game as part of the sub race application process. He could shift to 65 points I think it is before it'd be deemed Lawful, not certain of that number offhand though.

As far as I am concerned, this topic is essentially resolved. I am satisfied with the cumulative explanation here and my previous post stands:

Thank you all, once again, for taking the time to lend your thoughts and knowledge on this issue. It has put my mind at ease.
