Fear is not a mindeffect unfortunately. You need +will items to get higher saves, or you need +fear items. Thats how you protect against fear.

Yes please look at the OP's initial post: Questing, why is there so little high levels quests. But I think I have my answer in part.
High level questing is mostly reserved for world changing stuff, and lower levels can fend off the ducks escaping the pond. And there is alot of other mechanical and RP'ish things attached to it, but thr above seems to fit just about right. 27
General Discussion / Re: Questing« on: June 27, 2008, 01:47:34 pm »
And what of those that will never make WLCQ, that somehow does not fit into that nice of players that have evolved, are those left for themselves, and picking up on lowerlevels quest when they get open for all, so they can save a pie baker from a pie eating pie?
Sorry im pasting it out like that, but what happent to having some fun, while your RP'ing in the world? Would it be to much to ask that questing should be fun, and not a chore? 28
General Discussion / Re: Questing« on: June 27, 2008, 01:24:58 pm »Quote from: s0ulz This seems to have sidetracked to Sandbox Mode for Epics now more than a request for epic quests. So this means that lowlevels cannot enjoy the same thrill that epics have? That instead of large epic series with world conflict they are instead given more quests to make up for it? I hope thats not the case. Higher level characters have every bit of the same desire to quest as lowerlevels, and yes I wouldn't mind if the quests were epic in scope, but thats not always possible. But on the otherhand, I dont mind just being entertained and have fun for 4hours doing a stand-alone for higherlevel characters. 29

GM'ed controlled mobs. And they can change monsters stats and what not, besides GM controlled encounters are more challeging, and can be criss-crossed mixed-maxed and switheroony, when a character dont know what to expect.
You know what to expect if your just doing a trip to belinara. 30
General Discussion / Re: Questing« on: June 27, 2008, 11:58:29 am »Quote from: Gulnyr This is just my impression, but it seems part of what is being said - I dont agree with that logic. Simply because were epic, do we then expect more "epic" stuff in your quests? No, I dont think so. We'd just expect something in our level range, that would present a challenge. I wouldn't mind a GM'd tour of belinara, aslong as it had a challenge and RP in it. Plenty of untouched areas over there can present a challenge for high level characters, and lots of places to make a good story. 31

Thank you for the replies, and I'd like to think im part of the community, and I say your catering to lowlevels
Dont get me wrong, I can understand some of the complications revolving the setup/preparation time needed for such a quest. But couldnt a similar highlevel quest be catered to epics and such, simply by scaling some more difficult monsters. I understand that alot of epics characters have stories and specific lore attached to their person, but it doesnt have to be so complicated. The reason is, that lowlevels can almost join every quest there is out there, and do RP in all of them, but since some of them have combat involved there is a level range. That is fine. But could we not make simple stand-alone quests for epics? Similar to those we have for lowlevels? So instead of killing the spooky goblin leader of weakness, epic chracters could enjoy the fine quality story from the GM, and hence kill the epic goblin of rage. All other quests that dont include combat or limited, could of course still be labeled as open to all. But this is more a way to balance peoples playtime. As it is now, most higherlevel gain very very little, next to none XP, except for the occasionally RP XP reward from the GM's ( thank you, you know who you are ). And people still go out on trips despite that, since there is no specific quests for higher levels. This way highlevels could do some more questing instead of running around as most of us do. 32
Rumour Has It / Re: Raffle List« on: June 25, 2008, 08:14:17 am »
No problem. I did have you list, and I knew that everything on the list you had, was drawn and therefore awarded you the highest item remaining on the list.
If anyone have any questions about prizes and what not, please contact me, instead of sending Pm's internally, this is how misunderstandings start. Thank you for understanding. Blackguy 34

Trade and Market Hall / Re: Looking to buy and item for trade« on: June 23, 2008, 02:07:14 am »
This is the last I'll say in this.
Your wrong, this is all about money. You specifly said to me that you wanted to sell the item, and seeing as I prevented you from doing so, you wanted to change to another item you could actually use. You chose your item, because of its high value and only because of that. So please dont say that it is not about money, and lecture me about morals, because clearly you have none. And I have to admit this whole ordeal, have left me sad and annoyed, that there is still people not understanding why we dont hold these raffles so often, and we try to make them with as little rules anymore, and then they try to use that against us, when we see it nessecary to change them abit. I'll look-away from all the name calling you have used on me, coward, liar, power-abuser and so on, as i believe you were aggitated because you felt wronged, and that I was after the little man. I was not, I was merely trying to make people have fun and I guess i failed in that. Thank you for destroying my confidence in that there is still decent people out there. If that was your goal, you have succeded. Reply if you must, but I will not. Lastly Lin'da Sul'kolindo 38

The rules apply for all, its not only you, even if they were made during the raffle. No person would be given an item they could not use, if they had provided me with lists for which items they wanted.
And there is no agreement made between any people, there is no binding contract for you or for us to uphold. We follow a moral line instead, but it seems you are determined to break it. Seeing from all the happy people that attended the raffle, you are the only one acting out like this, because you believe we are slandering you, which is not correct. As if your life would not go on if you could not sell the scroll, thats silly. If you had been given the scroll from us in the raffle, you could have said, look I cant use the scroll cause I dont know how the Arcane works. Then we could have said, thats fair, he wants something he cant use, we'll give him that. But instead you kept the scroll in hopes that you could profit on it, seeing as you only payed 6,000 for it, and then sell it or trade it for alot more than that. Yes you chose to get more true instead of actually taking an item you could benifit from. Oh but your right in one thing, you did not tell Katrien to change an item after the raffle. You and your twin brother are easy to mistake. For that I will give you an apoligy. But lets put it simply, I am telling you no, and its no. Lin'da Sul'Kolindo 39

* she sighs and writes a full post *
Lets get a few things straight here. My name have nothing to do with anything I write here, not before, not now, or in the future. I hold no position or power to sway people and I do not try to use whatever influence you think I may have to "bully" you. Now at the raffle, Kyle told Katrien, not me, that he wanted to exchange the item, because he could not use the item, not because he could not sell it. You asked me if you could change yours, 10 minutes AFTER that kyle had traded his, and at around the time I announced that no items could be sold. I made that call during the raffle, because I thought it would be honest hardworking adventures that were supporting a raffle to build more homes, and not adventures with a mind to profit on item won at the raffle. But as I suspected i was right when you asked me to change it to something you could actually use. I also later found out that after I left, you asked Katrien to have the item exchange, as if she would say yes, when I said no. Do you think I make these decisions on my own? I then told you no, to exchanging the item. If that no does not satisfy you, you are welcome to deliver the 3 items you won back at the foundation raffle, and I'll happily deliver your 18,000 true back aswell, and compensate the foundation out of my own pocket. Yes its true that no rules were made about selling or trading items, but as I said, I didnt expect people to come for the raffle to profit on it. I guess no raffles will be held again now, since its simply a unmoral playground for people to use as a place to gain more true to buy items they didnt win. If you have any questions, your welcome to contact me personally. This post have been cluttered enough by mine and yours remarks. * Lin'da walks away, signing her name and leaves a address for Aerimor to contact her on * 40
Trade and Market Hall / Re: Looking to buy and item for trade« on: June 22, 2008, 04:03:22 pm »Quote from: Aerimor No Lin'da you did not make yourself clear. You never posted any such rules. You made an anouncement AFTER I picked the item. I immediately requested to trade it in. Which you denied, even though you allowed Kyle Pardon to trade an item he could not use. You then conceded to me that it could be traded. And as obsurd as it is for me to have limits placed on MY items, I conceded to your desires as posted on this post and only asked for a trade. Your apology is accepted! Thank you for understanding. |
