Rumour Has It / Dark Elf attack on villages in northern Rael
« on: September 04, 2010, 04:10:49 am »
Now standing at just under 23,000, five units of heavy infantry in the Southern Rael Army have been ordered to Fort Hold after word arrived of Dark Elf attacks on several villages south of the Fort.

The five thousand men and women marched early this morning with up to 500 auxillary troops including a large number of All'ra to Fort Hold.

Early information suggests over three hundred Dark Elves were involved in the attack.

The already bolstered force of 3000 at Fort Hold were deployed into the field as soon as word arrived of the night attacks but were unable to kill more than just a few dark elves left behind the slow any counterattack.

Ten Dark Elves have been captured and will be tried as soon as the Rofireinite judges arrive from Prantz with their Knights of the Wyrm escorts.

Rumour Has It / Rofireinites support Rael
« on: August 30, 2010, 02:23:40 am »
After a recent deputation of Rael emisaries to Westerngate to speak with the leaders of the Rofireinite Faith the following statement has been issued to all Rofireinite places of worship around the world with the official sanction of the Voices of Justice.

"Let it be known to all followers of the Great Gold Rofirein that from this moment forth in the matter of the impending invasion of Rael by Dark Elf forces they have full support of the Rofireinite Faith and its various members.

The Rofireinites shall be responsible for dealing with prisoners in terms of holding them, charging them and dispensing justice in line with both Divine Law and the laws of the land of Rael.

Furthermore, a unit of Wardens of the Principium escorted by a division of Knights of the Wyrm shall be given leave to travel to Rael and operate from the Prantz office in carrying out the aforementioned duties.

Rofirein stands firm against the savage attempt by Dark Elf forces to bring about the harm and terror of innocents in not just the lands of Rael, but in any lands.

May the scales of the Dragon protect us in this time of need.

By order of the Voices of Justice."

Evidence suggests that other faiths have been approached and are not far off offering their support as well.

Rumour Has It / On the Plains south of Prantz
« on: August 26, 2010, 12:01:29 am »
On the plains south of Prantz one can see a dark sea of pitched tents, horse picket lines, thousands of campfires and attendant servants that serve as the base for what is now well over fifteen thousand troops and is still building. The vast area now holds what is being termed 'The Southern Rael Army'.  Day after day wagonload after wagonload of goods and foodstuffs to provide for such a force arrives from villages and towns all over Rael. The people eager to help in such a grand endeavour.

Tales of fear continues to flood across the plains of dark attacks in the night by devilish Dark Elves, more and more are caught each day, one outside Rangley, one outside Sierra and still the stories come in. People in outlying lands have moved closer to the smaller walled villages in fear of the impending attacks. Nighttime becomes a time of fear for any honest family living in farmsteads across the nation.

From that mighty host on the plains south of Prantz there is finally movement nearly four weeks after Rangley was attacked.

Two units peel away from the host and form up on the road heading south towards Lor.  A 1500 strong detachment of Heavy Cavalry made up of human nobles and lords from in and around Prantz called the 'Iron Horse Legion', and a 500 strong Dwarven Guards Unit with All'ra support begin a march south.

Protected within their ranks is a combined group of nobles, both Human and Dwarven from Prantz. Together with their supply wagons and servants trailing behind them the force heads south.

Rumour Has It / Lance Stargazer arrested in Audiria
« on: August 18, 2010, 03:50:03 am »
Rumours start to leak out of Audiria of the arrest of prominant Toranite and hero of Hilm, Lance Stargazer.

It seems authorities have arrested the Paladin after he detonated an explosive device in the city damaging many beachfront buildings and sinking a number of local fishing vessels. The only loss of life reported at this time was one of his own companions.

Rumour Has It / Rael mobilises for Dark Elf war
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:49:17 am »
After the recent attack on Rangley, Rael authorities have come to suspect they rest on the brink of an invasion by dark elves.

While initial reports indicated that a small very powerful force that included one dwarf, a human that matches a description of a well known mercenary known as Steel and a dark elf attacked the large village of Rangley, authorities now realise it was a precurser to a far larger preparation for invasion of Rael.

Rael investigators are assure the attacks were not the works of the Green Dragon Cult and have witnesses that indicate this was not the case and verify the participation of certain individuals in the attack on Rangley.

Slowly but surely all borders in Rael and being closed down by a huge show of strength by the ruler of the kingdom. Its not long before people are jumping at shadows and the suspected Dark Elven invasion to come.

Orders are issued for the seisure of any and all dark elves found within Rael lands.

Meanwhile on the plains south of Prantz an impressive army starts to gather, all manner of units begin to stage, from elite heavy infantry, to pikemen, light cavalry, eingeers, heavy artillery as well as large groups of monks seen moving amongst the dwarven components of the armies.

By this stage the army continues to build day by day with no obvious direction for their final destination other than perhaps a show of strength against the supposed Dark Elf attacks to come.

A statement issued from the Ruler of Prantz himself indicates that Rael is deeply saddened by the loss of life amongst the people of his nation and personally sends his sympathies to those who have lost loved ones in the attacks on Rangley. Rael has promised as much aid as is needed to see those people given some security and solace in their time of need. In the same statement he has declared that regretably the world is not always a peaceful place as much as hewishes it to be. In defence of his nation and in defence of the people who look to him for leadership and protection he has been forced to issue orders to some of his army to secure the borders in preparation for a dark elf invasion.

Rumour Has It / Huangjin Rocks
« on: July 11, 2010, 01:48:36 am »
Huangjin was in full celebration for days as the Toranites donated monies to the city for a festival to celebrate its continuing strength in the world.  The festival known as the Festival of the Savior culminated in a ceremony to aware the rare Matteo prize on one of its own members, Lady Daniella Stormhaven.

Stories are only now just starting to filter out around the world about the incredible tests and achievements she had to make in order to see Toran's strength continue.

Word is she has also been granted the official title of Champion of Toran's Divine Will.

There will be a few sore heads in Huangjin for some time as the festivities continue. Smaller celebrations have also been shared in other centres of Toranite worship around the world.

Rumour Has It / Sighting in Hammerbound
« on: June 28, 2010, 04:58:23 am »
Adventurers punishing giants in the Hammerbound Peaks recently stumbled upon a sight at night that caused them to flee the mountains and head to the taverns of Hlint.

Locals calmed them with ale as they stammered out their strange tale.

"We was coming over the ridge of a peak near the main pass and we saw it. A creature clothed in silver, red and grey garments. It glowed but not in a nice way, no sirree. It carried a massive sword that glowed with an evil light and it's face....ye gods, its face....when it turned to look at us we could see it."  He rapidly downs his tankard getting up strength to continue.

"I swear on me mothers grave it was Storan. There was over a score dead giants around him, all twisted and drained of life. It scared the life outta us. Then he laughed and his laughter echoed on the hills around us. Me and me friends, our guts turned to jelly and I dont mind tellin ya we fled, fled all the ay back ere. We could still hear his voice when we was running. 'I'm free', I'm Free', was all he kept sayin. I aint going back there..uh uh...no way in 'ell."

« on: June 21, 2010, 04:35:49 am »
Speculation has arisen that passers by travelling on the road to Fort last have seen men in black robes gathered outside the ancient tomb of the lich Storan. A unit of Shining Hand members dispatched from Fort Last approached the site to find no evidence of such a sighting.

Rumour Has It / Toran in decline?
« on: June 21, 2010, 04:32:56 am »
Across the world, stunned Toranites awaken to feel something less than their usual affinity and closeness to their God. Something registers deep in their hearts and souls like an echo of what is to be should they fail in their service to their God.

In Huangjin tears are shed, fears are uttered aloud and in the holiest place of the entire Cathedral the Ausculture lies prostrate on the ground before a statue of Toran, an ancient holy tome clutched in one hand.

Priests, Revered knights, holy paladins and loyal servants of Toran gather at the Cathedral to pray, across the world in many such holy places dedicated to the Great leader others like them also gather, and pray.

The future of their faith is at stake, and all their hope, all their faith and all their trust lies in the hands of one person.

// Please note all divine worshipers of Toran for the moment have lost access to their highest ranked spells ie Clerics cannot cast level 9 spells. While this is purely an RP restriction and not enforcable in general gameplay. I ask that in terms of helping generate the mood of the setting for the WLQD and whats trying to be accomplished that you RP this in game for the time being.

Fixed Bugs / Bug report ~ Implosion
« on: May 05, 2010, 08:37:48 am »
Since the last update when I use implosion I get the following:

Cardin casts Implosion

then.....nothing happens.

If I move, normally the text comes up to say something equivalent to:

Your control over death has expired.

But nothing is coming up and nothing is happening at all when I cast implosion and has not done so since the last update.

Rumour Has It / Graveyard disturbance in Dalanthar
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:07:11 am »
Citizens in Dalanthar were horrified recently when local militia discovered vandals had overnight destroyed many of the graves in the cemetary. It appeared as if the vandals dug holes all over the graveyard and broke many statues and head stones. Authorities think the desperate vandals might have been searching for treasures buried in the graves with loved ones.

Rumour Has It / Fort Last in a tizz.
« on: April 06, 2010, 09:02:33 pm »
Word has spread of some curious occurances at the Temple of Toran in Fort Last. Shining Hand member Isabella Stridewith has been seen escorted from her chambers by Members of the Order of the Longsword and taken to Leringard and on board a ship. Her ultimate destination it seems is Huangjin.

Shining Hand comrades of Isabella refuse to make comment or speculate on the meaning of the official handling of one of their own.

A new face has also appeared at the Temple, Well know and respected Revered Knight Delourney of Huangjin whom many recall has an impeccable history in service to the priesthood of Toran and of military engagements against nefarious organisations in the past. It was announced by a close mouthed Gilbert Gallant that Delouney was joining his command as a Spiritual Advisor on behalf of the Ausculture.

Observers afterwards suggested that Gallant appeared none too pleased.

Within hours of Delourneys arrival however calls went out to all Shining Hand members currently not engaged in direct duties across Mistone and Alindor to assemble in Fort Last immediately for a full scale military engagement.

The nature of the engagement seems to only have been privy to Delourney and Gallant at this time and has sent the temple into full scale preparations.

Rumour Has It / Report to authorities in Northpoint
« on: March 06, 2010, 06:07:20 pm »
A plain young woman with blonde hair enters the main office of the rulers of Dalanthar to report a travesty of Justice. Giving her name as Liselle she reports that she has travelled all the way from a small village on Mistone to report that her brother, a young man called Leon, had entered a place called the Ruins of Madness and been caught up in an incident with milita from Willows Weep.

She reports that the militia tried to arrest one of his comrades and everything spiralled out of control from there and resulted in the milita locking them in the Ruins of Madness and facing certain death as they were assaulted by the Minotaurs. Regardless of the fact her brother pleaded with the militia to be allowed out to safety they refused for sometime.

Liselle is furious that such an abuse of power has occured in relation to her brother and demands an investigation into the incident and the captain of the unit who did that to her brother to be demoted.

She offers to wait in Dalanthar until the investigation is concluded visiting the office every day to find out whats been done. (Once she has the names of some of the officers however she will disappear.)

The Dragon Storm Campaign / The Dragon Stealers are seeking
« on: January 25, 2010, 06:27:45 pm »
Leisa sends word to those working against the Dragon Stealers.

Knowledge can mean much, or nothing at all, I have seen the ones you call Dragon Stealers combing the deserts on Dreger in search of Dragons. I have taken steps to warn those who need to be warned but my part in this is done. It is up to those working towards the end of this Cult to do more.

Rumour Has It / News from Kuhl
« on: January 23, 2010, 06:20:25 pm »
Word has reached the lands of Hilm from Southern Kuhl of a blitz by the Cult in controlling the city of Amaria. Houses have been searched, citizens seized, goods secured and curfews put in place for several weeks now.

Investigation suggests that the Cult are responding to an attack within its borders and the killing of a camp of Drachs, cultists and one of their precious Dragons. The Great Mottled Gold Dragon that once flew patrols over the southern lands of Kuhl has not been seen for some time although several scouts do report seeing the presence of a massive red Dragon circling high above the area once or twice since that time.

Rumour Has It / Night of the Undead
« on: December 21, 2009, 05:10:57 pm »
The night of Tunar, Jenra 16, 1459 will be remember across Mistone for some time as a night of unrest and chaos across the lands. A dark night with thick clouds obscuring the night sky of any light that tried to penetrate its murk.

A night that crypt keepers and graveyard tenders will recall when the dead clawed their way from their graves in many places to attack any living they came across.

Toranites and undead hunters were kept busy quelling the seeming uprising and forcing the undead back to rest across the lands. Dead bodies from the Tsunami's attacked fisherfolk and coastal villages seemingly at random. Imagine the horror when lost loved ones in the disaster returned to call on the living and try to kill them!

Chaos, madness! Some say its the work of Corath, his foul breath upon the land causing the dead to rise in their corruption. Whatever it was, by morning it was over. With the dawns light bright and clear the unliving returned to their graves and to their rest.

The Silver Buckle / Political wrangling across Dregar
« on: November 01, 2009, 08:33:22 pm »
The Sabre, recognised ruler of Liwich has come forward and made an amazing announcement that has been supported completely by the Regnant of Hurm, Saviar Morgensen and over the last few hours by all authorities across Liwich.

By order of The Sabre, Liwich has offered the criminal Gork a FULL pardon for all crimes and accusations made against him by lawful authorities across the world and free access to any and all places within Liwich itself.

The Sabre met briefly with ambassadors from Boyer, Sederra and Succession as well as with Rofireinite representatives in Liwich Castle. Rumour has it that the ambassadors were not happy when they left and in fact were extremely terse and unwilling to make any comments on what transpired within.

Following the Sabres announcement the ambassadors one by one declared that regardless of Liwich's offer to the criminal Gork who, if the Rofireinites are to believe, is dead anyway, their nations will still have in place a bounty and considerable restrictions in relation to the criminal. Each of the Ambassadors has cited the fact that Liwich has no authority to recant their own nations laws and charges.

In perhaps the most sensational news that has angered the Ambassadors further is that the Rofireinite representatives in Liwich have, with some reluctance, granted The Sabres request to drop all charges to date against the criminal Gork.

In the face of such a strange decision the ambassadors of Boyer, Succession and Sederra have angrily upheld their own countries laws and declared that should Gork, in the unlikely event, rise from his grave and be found within any of their borders he will be summarily executed without trial.

The Ambassador from Rael has refused to make any comment.

Many political observers feel that the increasing tension across Dreger in relation to the hunt for Gork was simply a precurser to an attempt to instill chaos and civil war across Dreger with the intention of providing Lord Rael an opportunity and reason to march his armies north to pacify his neighbours and instill his rule across all of Dreger. While this has no supporting evidence to date there are some whispering in corners that this is perhaps the true nature of what had been occuring. How the criminal Gork was involved remains a mystery but it certainly seems that he has the full support of Liwich at least.
