Balthazaar Drummond, a silk merchant in Port Hempstead has been a long time supplier of raw goods for the Angel’s Guild. He also purchases large quantities of their finished products for resale. Charlie puts a check mark next to Balthazaar’s name on his list with a small piece of charcoal and settles in across the street next to some empty crates. He sips wine from a flagon throughout the day while he watches the shop. Business appears to be good for Balthazaar. A lot of traffic, but nothing suspicious. The sun is beginning to drop in the sky, and shadows lengthen. As Charlie enters the shop, a set of bells jingle over the door. He is approached by Balthazaar, who does not seem overly concerned with any of the questions being asked of him. He explains that a female Halfling came by the shop, not more than two days prior, asking about purchasing Angel’s Guild debt, but he sent her on her way. He hands over a card, explaining she left it with him “in case he should change his mind.” It Reads: Dunmarble Equity Partners 18 Sternmark Street, Creedo

The young dark skinned girl smiles at the three of you and says, “I'll inform Mr. Quill that he has visitors.” She heads into a back room, her well-proportioned and curvy posterior swaying back and forth. Ceviran is a little uncomfortable with the display… Vincent is just slack-jawed. After a few minutes she pokes her head back through the doorway and motions you in. As you enter the well-lit room you see shelves lined with bottles, flasks, beakers, and a plethora of medical gadgets and gizmos. Quill is bent over a low wooden table with a scalpel in one hand and a bone saw in the other. A nude female body is laid out on the table and a “Y incision” is already cut. You’re somewhat intrigued to see that there is no face… only smooth skin where the face should be. He looks up and smiles when he sees Lola. “Ahh.. My dear... welcome. It has been awhile… and who are your friends?” He motions with the scalpel to the two men.

Quill, a middle aged undertaker in Fort Vehl was used to seeing strange cases come through the doors of his workroom… but this had to take the cake. He brushed back a few stray strands of his grey hair and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Captain Andrew of the Vehl Guard sat on a nearby stool and looked equally perplexed. “Well, what do you think Quill?” The odd little man in a smock reached over and ran his gloved fingers over the smooth head and replied “To be honest, I’m not sure. I will run some more tests, but this looks like something more arcane in nature… I see no cuts or incisions, and the skin all appears to be a natural and continuous growth with the rest of the body.” The Captain shakes his head, stands, and as he heads for the exit says, “Keep me posted.” Lola and Ceviran arrive as the Captain is departing the front doors. One of Quill’s Assistants, a young dark skinned human girl asks them, “Good morning, how may I assist you?”

Prior to sailing. You can find an embassy or government office in most large cities.
Travel papers are checked by the Dockmaster upon arrival.

After a discussion with Row, I believe the current situation is that IC it is a customs nightmare to gain approved access and travel papers. You can spend a few days on the boat waiting for clearance... if everything is in order. I’m not aware of any posted travel restrictions though. If you want to post/apply IC in your other thread I’m willing to play the part of government officials in some forum RP to give you access. Thanks Row. I think he may have been referring to the "Lightbringer" forum. He finished his CDQ successfully Sunday and is pursuing Undead Hunter levels. With that being said though, I think he is the only active one on the server. Also, looking at the forum, it was created in 2005 and has had no activity. He might be less lonely sticking to the Aeridite forum... :-) -Rave

After narrowly avoiding several cramping muscles from maintaining less than normal angles of arms and twisting of body, Vincent gets a good peek at his back. The spot in question, under his left shoulder blade, looks healthy and uninjured. His only assumption at this point is that he slept on it wrong and has a minor ache resulting from the pressures on that spot on his body.

I'd just like to comment that there are numerous types of undead at all level ranges if you know where to look, so from a mechanical standpoint you can still gain levels at a comparable pace to other classes by concentrating on eliminating undead, plus have all of the RP benefits of a cleric of Aeridan... Even into epic levels.

In recent developments... Two agents of Thistletoe Trading were found killed, their arrows full of kobold arrows. A half orc body was found near the new tree on the cliffs overlooking the Angel’s shop, and an elven body was found near the border of kobold tribal holdings. Other Thistletoe agents in the area fled when news reached their ears. Rangers surmise that they may have represented some type of perceived threat by the Kobolds to both their sovereign rights, and to their newly returned nature spirit. There are currently no indications of any precursor to large scale raiding by kobold war parties...

A librarian scratches his head, remembering a recent report filed regarding a disturbance that was banished by a small group of wizards in the Falls Forest. He scrawls a quick note and sends a messenger to the appropriate authority.

It is the tileset. I crash in that area 3 out of every 5 times I take any of my toons there, even with shiny water off and low video settings. I personally try to avoid ever going there because of it. It is a shame because it is beautiful...

Wagon loads of wood begin making their way into the Hempstead Fields area. The Dirty Claw High Shaman Kronkslivak has been true to his word. Trade with the kobold tribes has progressed thus far with no bloodshed when representatives of the Angel’s Guild are present. Poachers and other encroachments on kobold lands have been met with their usual warlike ferocity though, and the occasional head on a stick can still be seen near their borders. Some have noted an old gnarled tree on a cliff overlooking the Angel’s shop. Many have remarked on how odd it is as they never noticed it before, yet the tree looks so old and decrepit… as if it has been growing there for centuries. Upon closer inspection the old tree has the vague appearance of two wooden creatures interlocked in an embrace. From time to time kobolds can be seen sneaking to and from this area, offerings of food and crafts left at the base of the tree. With the influx of wealth into the kobold tribal lands, it appears that the influence of the Dirty Claws has grown among their own kind. Rangers have reported seeing many other smaller bands and their tribal elders travelling to the area.

Nothing of note is found within the shop itself… but as Andrew paces around the foundation, after his third ring he is nearly stopped dead in his tracks on the east side of the building. About 15 feet from the shop is a large rock. The disharmony in the Heartsong is almost tangible as his boot touches the old worn granite. With shaking fingers he reaches down and rolls over the small bolder. Attached to the rock is a small wood sign that has the following words carved into it and blackened, most likely with a red hot piece of iron. “Ernesto Di Valla – Granted: Novlar 11, -10677” Your jaw drops. If the date is correct, the piece of wood is approximately 750 years old. There is not any sign of rot or deterioration. No insect activity. The wood is pristine. You fail to see how this is possible due to its age, exposure to the weather, and being underneath a rock in damp soil for who knows how long.

Competition was fierce. Six contestants strutted their stuff in outfits created under pressure and with a lot of sweat and tears. They answered deep personal questions for the crowd...and under the critical eyes of their competition. Lace, leather, and silk were the theme of the day. Dance moves were broken out, cat o’ nine tails cracked, and thigh high stockings reflected light as hips swayed back and forth! Judge Bonjour Amour had a tough time making a decision… but in the end his ballots were cast in Tyra Dragonheart’s favor. She was crowned the first “Ms. Center and was lauded with flowers and a coin cash prize. She won a date with Bonjour Amour, and had her image magically captured by Diddly Tankard for an upcoming print campaign in Port Hempstead for Sally Jayne Frufru’s new regal purple silk line of clothing… BUT Little did she know there was a disgruntled contestant in the crowd that whispered a foul little curse given weight by Al’Noth and years of practice… hummed from the lips of a master, just as her image was captured by Diddly. Later in Port Hempstead, the printing presses rolled with Tyra Dragonheart’s image. Somehow it now had a huge witches’ nose with several large warts, and her eyes were crossed! Bonjour, having seen this horrifying image stood her up on their date! He decided he could not be seen with someone looking like that. The sexy Arnie Sneal chuckled when she heard him mutter, “Darn, that girl must have been wearing the makeup thick!”

Master Sibbicai and Kyle spend many, many hours in the archives of Port Hempstead. Several record keepers assist them with their various requests, bringing ledger after ledger. The candles burn low, are replaced, and burn low again. They track down land deeds and auditing files for the various land holdings in the Port Hempstead Fields area from owner to owner, but do not see anything that jumps out at them. Kyle finally finds the first recorded record for the land where the Angel’s Hall sits. It appears that the land was granted to an individual by the reigning Duke of Port Hempstead nearly 750 years ago, after it was forcibly taken from a kobold tribe in the name of economic progress. Sibbicai grimaces… “Kobolds.” ---- Andrew walks the now decaying hallways and rooms of the shop… he reaches out to the Heartsong and he feels discord. The air resonates with an increasing level of disharmony… anger… a hint of vengeance? The vibrations feel old, as if they have been floating in the ether for centuries, and like a cello who’s strings are suddenly stroked in a violent motion of the bow, suddenly come to life. Placing a bare hand on a now rotting wall he can almost feel it trembling slightly. None around him seem to notice. Time after time he looks into the hole, but does not see any appearance of the face seen by Sibbicai. He feels that the soothing songs are falling on deaf ears… but that might simply be his imagination. --- Daniel continues to find rot throughout the building. The vines and weeds outside get thicker on a daily basis. He does his best to repair things and keep the building from falling as the others work on their tasks and lines of investigation.
