Sorry to Raise Dead on this thread but I just popped in to see if Layo was still alive...and yes it is! Always amazes me how long this whole strange little phenomenon has endured. I recognize many screennames and I wish you all the best of luck in continuing this unique slice of alter-reality.  :)

Someday I might try to get back into the world but right now I'm not gaming at all and instead trying my hand at novel/short story writing. Of course my chosen genre is fantasy!

Roleplaying / ATTENTION: Cherry Lake the Bounty Commissioner is in Center
« on: February 27, 2021, 01:55:59 pm »
"Do you think you are an experienced adventurer? Do you have what it takes to handle the baddest of the bad? Help bring escaped murderers and thieves to justice and make some good coin on the side. See Cherry Lake to pick up the latest bounty. Good luck!"

//// I'll be doing more of these in the future, but note they do not persist past server reset, and once completed, they do not reset. Watch IG or here or Discord to note when a new bounty is available. Also, you'll want to 'examine' the NPC Cherry Lake for more details. ////

Trade and Market Hall / Angels Guild Offering Coin for Vale Materials
« on: February 26, 2021, 08:16:44 pm »
The back door of the Angels Guild store is temporarily unlocked for the purpose of receiving and paying for materials for the rebuilding of Vale.  Go in the side door, then through the door on the right.  There is a double row of chests in the middle of the room, each labeled with the material needed, the price per item, and the number of items to be accepted.  Payment is in coin in each chest.
The chests are labeled as follows:

Clay for Vale 25 coins each, 100 maximum
Copper Ore for Vale 10 coins each, 37 maximum (2 chests)
Glass for Vale 97 coins each, 37 maximum
Gum Arabic for Vale 10 coins each, 100 maximum (2 chests)
Iron Ingots for Vale 75 coins each, 37 maximum
Mahogany Branches for Vale 200 coins each, 37 maximum
Oak Branches for Vale 50 coins each, 37 maximum (2 chests)
Oak Planks for Vale 120 coins each, 37 maximum
Sand (bags) for Vale 40 coins each, 37 maximum (2 chests)

Roleplaying / Rebuilding the village of Vale
« on: February 19, 2021, 02:28:46 pm »
After years of research and acquiring support, those wishing to rebuild the village of Vale assemble a list of the material and labor requirements. Though the patrons don't know who would choose to relocate to the newly rebuilt village, especially since most of the original inhabitants were murdered, that is a problem for after there are buildings to which to relocate.

- 1000 oak planks [175/1000]
- 500 mahogany planks [11/500]
- 5000 iron ingots (iron spikes count as two ingots) [1591/5000]
- 1000 lumps of coal [1244/1000]
- 1000 bits of clay [1042/1000]
- 500 gum arabic [500/500]
- 500 ingots of glass [506/500]
- 1000 mixed ore (representing stone; can be any raw ore: copper, iron, platinum, etc.) [1001/1000]
- 100 Fortune (can be provided by multiple characters) [34/100]
- 500,000 True (to pay for workers, transport of goods, and other associated building costs) [528488/500000]

Misc. Donations: 199 Iron Spike molds

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC stuff:
1. I'll update this post with a running tally of acquired goods.
2. Those wishing to collect for this effort need to place a chest (or ten) to hold items for collection AND post in this thread where the chest is placed. I'll hop in as a GM regularly and pick up the items to add to the tally. I can pick up directly from PCs (and will have to for the Fortune required), but the chests allow us to not have to coordinate being on at the same time.
3. Once everything is acquired, the Team will give the go ahead for a new area to be placed IG.
4. If you have questions, ask. Also, note that this is an RP thread, so make your posts generally IC, and denote OOC stuff in a manner where we can easily tell the difference.
5. Have fun!
General Discussion / Re: Minimum experience for crafting
« on: January 31, 2021, 03:49:56 pm »
You don't drop off the Top 10 list any more when you don't gain experience in the craft, it's just if you've logged in in the last 90 days that you stay on the leaderboard.
Even giving 1xp for a trivial craft has too many repercussions to the system. You could for example easily gather many lesser gems and advance in gemcrafting at a high level by just grinding away so no changes will be made in that regard.
Pretty sure blind, slow and fear are Will and the kill is Fort.  Duration I'm not sure on for blind, slow and fear but its pretty long...it may be tied to the bard song duration  or it cd be like the same number of rounds as the dc for those.
All this info is correct plus Lingering Song adds 5 rounds.
Terrifying Bellow = 10 + (Total Levels / 2) + CHA Mod
Deafening Chant = 10 + (Total Levels / 2) + CHA Mod
Song of Exhaustion = 10 + (Total Levels / 2) + CHA Mod
Make them Bleed = No DC, Damage = Skald Levels * CHA Mod
Broken Wail = 10 + Skald Levels + CHA Mod
Trade and Market Hall / Re: Cailomel Goods and Wares (updated)
The Demon of Leringard pops in on a Wedlar. He peruses the shop with slow measure until he finds the magical visuals one can find apply to a stick or weapon. After reviewing the prices, he drops a purse containing 2000 True into payment chest, and takes the application which actually removes such visuals.
/// I think if I read the prices right the most expensive visual sells for 1k at the shop, but the visual removal option is not listed with a price, so paid double just in case. ///
Introduce Yourself / New player saying hello
« on: December 27, 2020, 12:21:23 am »
Hello Layonara!
I am MusicalSiren, and I hope to soon be playing as Cytheria Raybeam. Though I'm a new player, I'm excited to be getting into this game. My dad has played this from the VERY beginning so I look forward to seeing what this game is all about.
I'm fairly new to roleplaying but I sure do love it! I guess I kind of take after my dad in that way-though I'll never admit it.
I look forward to meeting this community!
Trade and Market Hall / Re: Angels Guild--Adventure Outfitters
The dwarf selects this ring from the case, and browses around the shop, also choosing an adamantium scimitar, and a lesser fire enchantment. He approaches the old man, raises an eybrow, and says in a questioning manner, "I understand there be a discount fer multiple purchases?" He doesn't wait for a reply, putting the discounted sum on the counter before bowing and departing swiftly.
Sometime later he returns, his gloves scorched and blackened. 'Err...' he stammers then sighs, 'I  has come t' realise that, havin applied the enchantment t' th' blade, it be now beyond me ability t' use.' He sighs again and continues. I'll hang on t' it though, fer it be a fine blade. In th' meantime, however, be thar someone in th' guild who can fashion me another adamantium scimitar *he raises a bushy eyebrow* fer a fair price?
Important Layonara Announcements / Re: Solicitation for some donations
« on: November 24, 2020, 10:31:33 pm »
Hi James,
Is there another method to donate other than Paypal? They want a whopping great fee which I'd rather go to Layo.
Regards,
Eltalstro
Nothing I can think of off hand, that's a shame they charge high fees for you. Either way, we're doing okay, many donators have helped so we're covered for a good year at least :D
