    Thievery

I don't know.. if this is a good idea but i think it would solve some problems ^^ I mean, for now.. by my understanding, we have "npc houses" and "player houses" which cannot be looted... (Dareth will still rp a theft once in a while muaha) so my suggestion is, if you add some extra houses to the game, with chests and drawers inside containing the usual stuff.. like clothes and sometimes gold and it'd allways be random. then, of course locks of different level and all that,  .. at least one in every town, (so far the biggest ive seen is port so many there ^^ ..gives Dareth a reason to pay a visit) . i think this would greatly improve the thieves' part in the game. thanks.

actually little secret, in many towns there are buildings that you can break into and loot things, though there arn't many and the chests don't contain a lot, i could list a few towns i know of that will let you break into peoples houses, but i've said too much already, gotta run before they catch me now....

:O If there ARE houses that are allowed to be looted.. i think there should be some clear info about those houses ^^
*Starts looking hard for such info*

And I think having clear info about such things pretty much ruins the point and "fun" of it ;) Just look around. Preferably not in the day while Garent is behind you with his silverware out.

Besides, I think more opportunities for theft should come more necessary consequences. Personally I think you need to imagine that breaking and entering while Garent is strolling behind you, probably isn't a good thing. Stealing from a Toranite (who could easily look the other way the next time you are mobbed by undead, griffons, ants, or other manners of things he's protecting you from)'s house (and kitten!), right in front of him and another rogue who can clearly see you- probably not a good thing.

Picking a lock (or trying) in Port Hampshire (population 49,000 by the way), in broad daylight, next to a half giant who is talking about how thieves where he comes from get their heads taken off- possibly not a good thing. Asking for your share of the loot in front of the normally quite "chipper" halfling who got eaten by the manticore Dareth so wanted to attack, almost getting a knife in you, and then saying "Uh. So where's my share again?" Probably not a good thing. (Not that it's not important!)

However, I assume you are playing a stupid thief! *grins*

Which wasn't the point- I'm just saying that the more opportunities for Dareth to BE a stupid thief, should include more opportunities to get his hands lopped off *for* being stupid. You know? I wouldn't really want a bunch of houses you can just walk in, talk to people while bashing open their chests and robbing them of their belongings... *cough*

      Something like that.

*cough cough* :D first of all, Dareth isn't stupid, he just has funny habits ^^ ( I RETURNED the cup which i stole from the kitten!)
... I however have seen some houses (at least one in Hlint) which had locked / trapped chest labeled "NPC house chest" .. i asked Leanthar about this and he said these chests aren't allowed to be looted. so since there is no exact info of houses that are allowed to be robbed... I think it's  better i wont touch 'em, and rp the thefts instead. which doesn't mean it'd be way cooler.. ( If Dareth would really want to steal something for real profit (not some funny coins in a pool next to a giant.. at the moment he's doing it pretty much for the fun of it.) he wouldn't be so obvious) ^^

Err, I said they are allowed to be looted from... Anything that says its an npc chest can be looted (in those locked houses).
Please send me the PM or email where I said they are not allowed--it had to have been a mistype on my part if it said 'aren't' because they can be looted.

You're funny habits shoulda earned you a place in the Krandor Jail y'know .... unfortunatly, I don't think there IS a Krandor jail, so we'll just throw you in the crypts and lock the door *grins*

On the bright side, there should be some good loot in there ..... that is of course if you aren't horribly mauled to death first. I think that it would be funny if Dareth got arested on a quest or something and other players had to bail him out. (Why do I get the feeling Acacea would be trying to convince the guards the other way?)
