Child NPC to Adult PC

Just a clarification question I needed here, but does one have to wait the full 9-10 months before a child NPC hits age 18 and becomes playable? I'm just doublechecking...I'm unfortunately an impatient person

No, they have to wait the full 14.4 months.  

1 mo RL = 15 mo Layo.
18 yrs x 12 mo = 216 mo
216 mo/15 = 14.4 months.

Oh, fine, fine, but I was meaning more in the scale of time that we currently go by - i.e. 14.5 months to 18 years.

Then again, after some quick math, yes. It has been around that long.

Though not long enough for an elf born at the start of everything to have died of old age.

You're assuming that time has been completely linear since the mid 1980's when Leanthar started running things.  That time scale only applies to NWN, and if you go back that far, you will see that it's only been like 70-ish game years.

Well, aye, that is making that assumption. That was part of the frame of my original statement (however erroneous that statement turned out to be). Though it was using the NWN-scaled time to calculate back to the mid-eighties...
