When it comes to that point where my character starts using weapons... I wanted her to be a knife person... unfortunately there are no throwing knives in NWN, so the question becomes:

Can darts be RPed as such? I know darts do about 1d4 damage, and I beleive throwing knives do 1d6, but this may be a minor technicality and should have no grounds on to the RP of the matter. Or should it?

I would like some opinions on this.

Personal opinion: on the basis that NeverWinter Nights does not supply this tool but something simaler then it should fly fine. Not to mention that in a world with the Heavy Crossbow, the thought no ones thought of throwing a knife is simply absurd. Ozy doesn't use darts either, he uses throwing knives. I just have always justified it as perhaps throwing knives are smaller and lighter weight in Layonara thus 1d4 damage.

Actually, Daggers do 1d4 damage. When thrown, they still do 1d4 damage.

Darts ARE throwing daggers, for all intents and purposes.

Same, always seen them that way for the ones in Acacea's sleeves and other places; if only they weren't so heavy...or if you could retrieve them... Alas.

What is really strange is that you have throwing axes in nwn but not daggers. Speaking of heavy try lugging axes around.

maybe one day it all will be scripted... throwing knives... throwing axes and knives being retrievable... thats all I got... so you should stop reading now

I use throwing axes and darts. The darts are really no diff then knives. The axes although heavy do great dam. I just wish there was a merchant that sold iron ones.
