* A promise, an opportunity... *

* A strange dream haunts those of you able to take the shape of a beast, those that are familiar with the uncontrollable part of yourselves - and not in denial of it - those that know to trust their instincts, the hunters that follow the scent of their prey, those in tune with nature...

In dreams you walk a mountainous region. Wild and untamed the ragged snow clad peaks tower above you on both sides as you walk a trail through the wilderness, a trail hidden to anyone but you. At the end of this trail awaits the Promise - the answer to your innermost desires. Reach the end and you will rise to be whole, complete. You are convinced that even the suffering and pain that assail you along this path are mere stages along your road towards growth. It is worth it. The Promise is worth the greatest risk of all.

Others like yourselves walk this path - you see them, you hear them, you feel them. They are bound to try to keep up with you - even to outrun you. Outrunning you will mean that you came for nothing. You will have lost the opportunity, lost the right to what lies at the end of your path. The Promise awaits YOU, but there are obstacles along the way - like them. You know this. You alone can deal with these.

You stop to calm your breathing. Around you the foothills of the mountains are bustling with life. You draw in a deep breath and release it as a sense of renewal and life flushes your being.
Long enough though, you must not loose track of the path... *

// Shapeshifters walk this dream as they walk the native soil of Layonara. To them it calls out the loudest, the most intense and the Promise is felt by them most intensely.

Druids sense this when in their animal shapes. Sleeping in their shapes will let them live through it much like Shapeshifters.

A few individuals amongst rangers, mages dabbling in transmutation (those who have invested in the feat 'spell focus: transmutation'), priests of Kithairien, Katia and Folian S'pae dream this once only.
How much it impacts on your character and whether it calls for an investigation I leave to you, but be sure to have good reason to go - to you it does not feel entirely peaceful. As you walk the dream you hear the sounds of battle, screaming and violence all around you. Where you go, you go at your own peril.

Those that experience the Dream: "The dream fills you with a desire to discover the secret, the Promise. It does not feel wrong to think about it, on the contrary. You are lured north, towards the wild and cold northern reaches of Dregar. As your road takes you towards the Saddleback and Stormy mountain ranges you are sure that you have reached your goal.
     Now, how to discover the trail?"

//Does this apply to transmutation specialists?  Or just those with the feat?

// If you chose the transmutation specialist package, but have not yet taken the feat you're alright to come.

// Would those that were on the prolouge to this quest, know anything about it, other if it were told to them by nature people?

// Bear warriors, yes, definately.

Those that were on my latest quest know not about this and have done nothing more to investigate it further, so I'll have to say no on that. Only those that fit the description in the post about the dream.

But worry not, there will be opportunities in the near future.

* The Dream continues to haunt you. Not every night, but on nights where you toiled during the day and fall into a deep sleep - almost into a state of unconsciousness.

The vivid images flash through your mind and you awake feeling unrested and bathed in sweat. *

*And just as suddenly as the dream started, you stop dreaming it around May 1451.

Whatever caused it, is probably gone now.*

//Sorry for the late posting of this. The characters mentioned in Harlas' initial post who did not pursue the dream kept dreaming it until May 1451.
They would have noticed it stopping, and would wonder what made it stop.

Mistake from my side: the initial post from Harlas was from his 2007 series and mine about the second time the dream occured during the Dragon Storm Campaign.
