A Madman sings at the Docks of Hempstead
« on: November 27, 2009, 06:26:17 pm »
*A strange man dressed in tuxedo, executioner's mask and feathered hat wails forth a tempest of song from the shores of Hempstead.  He sings of death, destruction, courage, and in facing the storm.  He sings to the sea monsters and dead drowned gods of old, the elves of the deep and the very barnacles clinging tot he husks of shattered ships.  Persevere.  Endure.  Fight!  His fingers spark into a magical fire across the fretboard as he frantically pumps out chords of discord, masterfully bringing a sense of godlike to the impending, looming doom of what is to come.  Between sets he urges the crowds to run, flee... the second wav is coming.  Go inland, climb the mountains and wait it out.  And for those with will, stay to face the carnage that is to come.  Raise arms and battle these beasts of the sea.  Krakken, Aboleth, dread beings long forgotten beneath the waves.  They come for us all, meet them. Slay them!  A few may recognize him as one of the number who evacuated many citizens in the first wave, and who in a fit of madness, tied himself to a palm tree to meet the first wave of the tsunami.*

*joined by none other than Acacea Thistletongue, Jaelle a young up and comer, Andrew, a singer and violinist, and a full backing chorus of magical power, most of the damages against Hempstead are averted.  Any who stayed behind after the Skald's baleful attempts to spook them far and away from the area witness a huge magical wall of sound repell the majority of the wave's force.  Some wheren't so lucky, looking on, and their heads exploded.  But this was expected for any concert involving the FirstSkald, Farros Galdor, and his great accompianament.  Those that witnessed the event mostly all decree that it was brutally awesome*

*many scholars of musical theory note that this is Layonara's first crossing of Acacea's classical halfling folk song and the heavy metal cursed darksong skaldic tradition that Galdor helped found with such as Skarp Siegurdson and the great one Jharl.  And thus, Folk-metal is born.  It is great, many are infused with newfound skaldic brutality, and none are left behind unchanged who hear this dirge of doom.*

*for many days past the event, the fatherskald and his fans continue to sing of the greatness of the human spirit amidst primal forces as rage, war and storm. A deep, unnatural voice of desolation booms forth, just daring the creatures of the deep to arise and meet their complete and utter fishy doom.*
