It seems to be true! Reported sightings of apparitions appearing and disappearing at random across the world trickle in from minstrels and travelers alike. Tales of ethereal forms walking on the waves as if they were dry land can be heard in portside taverns. Descriptions of these "ghosts" range from what appear to be small animals, children, humanoid shapes of varying types and even monstrous forms. But for rare stories (of questionable accuracy), none of the apparitions seem to even notice their surroundings, some even appearing to pass through solid walls.
Minor tremors have also been reported in most places where these visages are seen, and when the tremors stop happening, there seem to be no further sightings.
Churches worldwide have been trying to reassure people that this is not some sort of undead invasion. They seem convinced that these apparitions are not, in fact, departed souls or risen undead spirits, though they are at a loss as to what other explanation to give. Rumors out of Spellgard suggest that they may, in fact, have an answer to these sightings.
