Port Hempstead Security
« on: March 12, 2010, 10:21:32 pm »
* Tables are erected at the gates and security seems to have increased as personnel are searched as they enter and leave the city *

* The guard presence has also doubled around the Angels' Guild Hall, a house on the waterfront of the merchant district, at the docks, and at the gates *

* Wanted posters are passed out to people coming and going with a sketch of a halfling or gnome in black armor with sparks coming off his clothing.  Under the sketch are the words: "Wanted." *

*Eyewitnesses in Port Hempstead recount how a person matching that in the drawings on the reward posters was captured and turned in to Port Hempstead Silverguard by a a man dressed as a Rofireinite and and a woman accompanying him.  Some accounts might also mention the person of Lady Saida, a noblewoman of Port Hempstead, having visited the prisoner shortly after his capture.  Also persons passing by the jail where the prisoner is being confined might occassionally hear the phrase, "Emwonk requires Emwonk's good grounding Jennara!" being shouted from within.*

*Being across town around and between the Foundation warehouse and the crafting halls, it does not take Jennara long to hear the rumors of someone calling for her.  She makes her way to speak with authorities and Emwonk.*

Daniel dispatches letters to Vehl detailing what occurred and notes several irregularities to the treatment of the prisoner, Emwonk.  He also files a complaint of prisoner brutality against Sergeant White of the Silverguard with the Sergeant's Commander, noting in detail the absence of food and water from the prisoner's cell and the highly irregular interview by Lady Saida had with the prisoner with neither counsel nor guard present.  In his letter to Vehl, he makes it clear that he offered his services as counsel to the Prisoner but was refused.  He strongly recommends that a representative of the divine court be present and or pay special attention to the proceedings as they appear highly irregular in regards to law and propriety.

*Emwonk is imprisoned in a small jail in Port Hempstead awaiting his trial for his alleged crimes.  He is under the close supervision of Sergeant White of the Silverguard.*

*Jennara visits Emwonk to discuss whatever he is charged with, how he came to be arrested, and whatever he would like to talk about. She listens carefully and tries not to upset him if she needs clarification.*

*Emwonk becomes nearly joyful for just an instant as he see Jennara arrive. Quickly his face grows serious, however, and he begins babbling semi-coherently with haste and fervor.*

"Jennara good grounding! Emwonk experiences postive flow causal Jennara's proximity! Wardens! Wardens flow joint Saida entity! Saida entity verballed Emwonk! Cognate?" *he doesn't pause for an answer as he rambles on excitedly* Emwonk requires null Al'noth proximity Emwonk's court ceremony! Saida entity probable facilitate Emwonks locality transferance subsequent court ceremony, subsequent Emwonk's flow disruption! Emwonk null flow negative! Jennara entity accepts Emwonk's verbals equal positive? Emwonk requires Jennara entity flow joint! Current requires Jennara entity flow joint Emwonk!"

Jennara repeats to make sure she has understood correctly.* The Wardens are working in conjunction with Saida. She spoke to you. The court room should be free of magic to eliminate her influence. Saida is going to try to take you away before the trial and kill you.

*She scowls, then calls for a guard.* I request and require assignment as a legal defender for this prisoner. There is a danger of illegal interference of a magical nature from other parties. I request permission to remain with the prisoner. If you cannot give such permission, please find someone who can. I will be here.

*Jennara remains in the small room with Emwonk prior to his transport to Fort Vehl for trial.  Sergeant White returns to his normal duties in the city. *
