Toran in decline?
« on: June 21, 2010, 04:32:56 am »
Across the world, stunned Toranites awaken to feel something less than their usual affinity and closeness to their God. Something registers deep in their hearts and souls like an echo of what is to be should they fail in their service to their God.

In Huangjin tears are shed, fears are uttered aloud and in the holiest place of the entire Cathedral the Ausculture lies prostrate on the ground before a statue of Toran, an ancient holy tome clutched in one hand.

Priests, Revered knights, holy paladins and loyal servants of Toran gather at the Cathedral to pray, across the world in many such holy places dedicated to the Great leader others like them also gather, and pray.

The future of their faith is at stake, and all their hope, all their faith and all their trust lies in the hands of one person.

// Please note all divine worshipers of Toran for the moment have lost access to their highest ranked spells ie Clerics cannot cast level 9 spells. While this is purely an RP restriction and not enforcable in general gameplay. I ask that in terms of helping generate the mood of the setting for the WLQD and whats trying to be accomplished that you RP this in game for the time being.

LORE: Toran's Light seems dimmer than it used to be. Some say this is because of an attempt on Toran by his adversaries, others say it is because Toran himself has been reduced somehow by his followers.

Regardless, the dimming of Toran's Light can not be anything good and it gives rise to speculation, worry and in some cases even fear amongst the general populace.

Argali Trueaxe is a little unnerved at the news of the plight besieging the steadfast and stalwart allies of Vorax.

She heads to Fort Llast where she is confronted by large gatherings of Toran's faithful about the large slabs of stone that make the temple. Most make earnest prayer, some stumble about as though bewildered, and a few weep their despair.

She steps lightly through the throng as she can manage, careful to avoid creating any further disturbance for those already in shock by this terrible event.

Inside the temple, she seeks the most able of priests not caught up in the tumult.  She offers her support and any assistance she can render.

Should the priest mention this being a time of vulnerability, she claps them firmly on the shoulder.

"Do not worry. We have yourr back."

*Upon hearing of their dismay, Görmungard travels to Ft. Llast, leading his warpony Garwahaart to outside of the temple. He then places large boxes of different kinds of food and non-alcoholic bewerages free for the taking of those who should be in need of them. Giving them all a stern but kind smile, and a few words of comfort*

"This will only beh eh passin' thing, oi'me shure ov eht. Nae worry friends."

*It is unclear if he believes himself what he says, but to those without magical means to discern such he sure would seem to believe the words*

....and suddenly all power and sense of Torans presence disappears in every place of worship around the world at once. Stunned followers glance about in fear, some begin to cry, others stand around bewildered, their worst nightmares come to be realised.

In some locations worried followers, soldiers, undead hunters, priests and laypeople stumble outside to gaze into the sky and see nothing...no light...nothing remaining of Toran's Light.

Moments pass.....

Moments pass..... and the cries of the servants of Toran begin the fill the void that was once His power in their hearts, minds and places of worship.

Moments pass....prayers of the Faithful reach up into the night sky calling their God back to them....

Moments pass...

...then suddenly....a glimmer....a sparkle....first one, then two......and before long the portion of sky where Toran's Light is located is filled with brightness, far brighter than ever seen before, overshadowing those around it in its renewed strength and glory.

The light reaches forth to bath Layonara reaching the hearts and souls of every servant of Toran and filling it with such joy and strength that shouts of joy, prayers of celebration, tears of happiness are wept and the strength and power of Torans love is felt in every one of his servants around the world.

Bright, clear...strong....Toran's Light glows far brighter than ever before revealing his renewed power to all his followers and a radiant blessing.

Word races across the world as fast as the word can travel that the Champion of Toran's Divine Will, Blessed of Toran, Lady Daniella Stormhaven has won through and assured Toran's continued divinity.
