Tsunami Hits the Bay of Peace
« on: March 25, 2009, 03:45:55 am »
Authorities from the kingdoms of the Telish Throne and Bilkin are calling desperately for aid as a tsunami has struck the western coast of Tilmar.

Sages have suggested that an undersea earthquake located in the Bay of Peace has caused the tidal surge that has destroyed many fishing villages along the edge of the bay. The cities of Creedo and Enka have suffered damage to their fishing and seaborne industry as docks and other resources were smashed by the sea. It is estimated at this time that over eight hundred people have been killed and over four thousand people are now homeless.

Both Kingdoms leaders are dispatching what iad they can to their own people and have sent for aid from nations on Corsain.

"Morre earrthquakes?"

**Argali pulls out her map and makes a mark off the southern half of the west side of Tilmar and adds a small note. She then looks at two similar marks, one over the Mountain of Storms on northeastern Dregar, and one over the Ulgrids on southern Mistone.

With that, she packs some gear, and makes for the quickest route to Creedo on Tilmar.**

*After hearing of the rumours about an earthquake, and some from yet another that shook southern Mistone from friends and associates. Chakar starts to spread the word that even the Great Spikes shook not long ago, seemingly due to an earthquake*

Reports continue to arrive to other parts of the world after just weeks of cleaning up from the Tsunami in the Bay of Peace and the valiant sacrifices made by locals in saving the lives of others. Aid has been received from several sources and honourable mentions must go to Jennara Creekskipper, well known for her humanitarian aid, as well as from a mysterious benefactor from Dreger.

There has been some concern however within the last few days where a unit of Lian meja-Domira's, Telish Seng-To Regiment from the Goten in Huangjin were ambushed in the field not far from the disaster zone where a huge supply depot had been established for the aid effort.

A large group of powerful lizard men accompanied by a strange creature with a single dark horn in its head appeared amidst the campsite. They proceeded to attack the soldiers while others made off with a large amount of the supplies. Soldiers interviewed after the confrontation believe the attackers just seem to have vanished into thin air after the assault.

While the meja-Domira is questioning the Ambassador for Bilkin about the attack he has at this stage made no further move than to increase the amount of troops guarding the site.

**Upon hearing the news while helping out about the Creedo area, Argali resumes her investigation and gets to the ambush site with all haste to hopefully speak with witnesses and perhaps share pertinent information.**

With additional soldiers from both nations getting to areas affected by the Tsunami more accurate accounts are coming forth from the areas affected which indicate the losses were not as great as first feared.

To date reports indicate that only while several hundred people have been killed or are still reported missing the homeless account for just under a thousand people and emergency housing is already been undertaken by both governments. With support from external nations and benefactors, authorities believe the situation will be remedied within the next 6 to 12 months.

The Mido of Telish has issued a proclamation of support and thanks for the efforts of emergency workers in the area and praised his people for their strength and courage.
