Wren goes to the great library
« on: June 29, 2009, 07:21:25 pm »
//yes he can read

Wren goes to the great library to look up everything he can find on the life and times of Storan. Here are some of the things he looks for:

Who he was
What were his life's accomplishments
Did he have a family
Are there decedents to find
What were his battle tactics
What god did he follow
What did people think of him
Was he a good person
How did he end up cursed

Wren also looks up demons and how to fight them.

I know it has been awhile since I first posted this, and I fully understand that folks are busy but due to this thread http://forums.layonara.com/wild-surge-inn/278402-sighting-hammerbound.html I was wondering if I could have a reply. Thanks :)

Right!

All he'd find was references to Storan and his Crypt and theories that he's been there for thousands of years. The entrance to the crypt is believed to have come to the surface during the Cataclysm.

Where he was from, how he came to be cursed, family, etc. is lost in the mists of time as he's so old.

Thanks!

I take it that following up with local stories, bard tales, rumors, and such would come to the same conclusion? If not then I will request to start that kind of search for information.

People have made up stories over time, and Wren would quickly realize that the mix-mash of tales and boogey-man stories are clearly fictional.

How does Wren intend to search for that info?

He would have by sifting the tales for common grains and then using those grains as research in the great library and by talking with scholars in the larger cities. Often there are aspects to any set of stories around a legend that are common and if looked into will reveal some deeper understanding.

But during one bardic story session Wren saw a call to arms sent out by the church of Toran about the green dragon cult. And that made him postpone this little effort, which was taxing his brain anyway, and head off to help the Toranites. :)
