Latherian eyes the notice, considering it for a while.  Helping people was not beneath him, though such things as Laws a Codes were not something he was fond of.  He Turns to his companion Pane, who rears up on his hind legs, the bear staring at the notice as if he was also reading it, before he turns to Latherian and grunts his approval.

In the Wild Surge Inn of Hlint in central Mistone, a gnomish barmaid by name of Merry Lark comes across the notice of the Crimson Shields' open membership, and pauses in her late-night cleaning rounds. Brushing back a few strands of silvery-white hair, she looks over to one of the heavy, oaken doors to the tenants' rooms, following the sound of loud, deep snoring. Memory and gratitude move her hand to her purse, which weighs heavier this night than it has in many previous. A tip, a gift, for stew and a song...

At a trill of her voice, a small orb of light springs into being over a nearby table, and she fishes out a quill, parchment, and a vial of ink. Always going on about "helping goods," that one... Though the poor, simple brute wouldn't have a chance of reading the notice on his own.

A Crimson Shield... That huge half-orc, always in and out of the Surge with meat, berries, or firewood for the inn... Occasionally carrying battered townsfolk past on his way to Amenithrulia for healing, a severed goblin arm in his other hand...

Nearly enough to write a song about, that.

~~~
The next day, in lovely lavender script, a note is tacked to the bottom of the Crimson Shields' notice. Some of the staff, not having noted any of the tenants out of their rooms in the night, comment on it, particularly wondering how the one some had termed the Surge's "Pet Half-Orc" had had the note scribed, or had even known of the notice to think of such.
But one pretty gnome simply smiles to herself, a new, faintly-glowing wildflower tucked behind her ear. The gratitude of a pure heart would certainly seem to be great, she reflects.
The note read as follows:[INDENT]
Quote
Grok, gatherer and adventurer and native to Hlint in central Mistone, applies to the Crimson Shield guild forthwith, in great desire to aid the common good.
He will arrive in Fort Wayfare in two days' time, after which point he will be lodging in the local accommodations, directly opposite the Crimson Shields' guildhall. There he will await those trials set forth by the guild upon their leisure.
// Any EST evening is hard for me as that is in the middle of the work day ... so don't try to incorporate me into any decision as to when ... though I would still like to be involved given there are very few guilds operating where AEST evening players can be involved. //
