Spawn too close to transition Thuder Peaks - Cavern(?)
« on: March 28, 2008, 12:23:15 pm »
Bug Report

Description: The spawns in the cavern trigger on the way in from the Crossroads side.  I believe it is intended that they do not spawn on the way back from Amphitheatre Lake.  However, if someone has gone ahead of you or is coming in from the other side, all of the spawns appear.  This is understandable, however if some distance between the cave's entrance and the first spawn was added so that returning PCs can decide if they wish to make the run or not would be welcome.  As it is, if there are wolves in the cavern they jump the AT.

Location: Central server, the area in the caves from Thunder Peaks - Amphitheatre Lake into the ice cave with the werewolves.

 Verified:

 Reproducable:

This is spawning as intended.  The areas are designed so that folks can escape the peaks on their own without support.  If someone runs ahead of the party this creates backspawning which is a frequent occurance and can be negated by the group simply sticking close together.

People running in ahead of others trigger spawns on other people in loads of area's though.

I don't think one should expect to be safe until back at the Crossroads. Which means if you need a group to travel up, the same thing should apply for going down.

As for people rushing down ahead of others, that's really just a lack of common sense.

EDIT: Chongo beat me to it. But yes, if you go up together, you can go down together. People do the same in the Rift.

Just to make sure I was clear, I'm not suggesting that it should be safe back through alone.  My suggestion was that the spawn not be right on top of the area transition.  At least give travellers a chance to make it through as a group, or to individually see the danger ahead and withdraw to wait for help.

If people move ahead as a group then they wont trigger it. Once you get out, your perfectly safe aslong as noone runs ahead.

If one runs ahead, or if people comes from the other side, then the spawn will trigger as designed.
