Some items in the loot chests are outdated. Like things with changed icons mostly, and I guess some items that have undergone recent stat changes might be affected too.
They are dropping the old versions because the loot chests have the old versions.
Spell comps with changed icons... ingots come to mind.
Not sure what else has been updated recently.
