Not receiving xp from Killing creatures anymore

Tonight I logged on and played.
For some reason though I did not receive xp from killing creatures anymore.

Therefore I went on the DM channel where I found Mixafix.
Together we tried to find out what could cause “this problem”.

First I killed a low level creature and nothing happened. The yellow text which normally appears and tells you the amount of xp you earnt – did not appear.

We therefore tried to throw in a tougher creature hoping that it would work. My theory was that at some point maybe (maybe) you did not get any xp from creatures at all (I mean the 1 xp).
Nothing changed though.

Afterwards I logged off layonara, log in again and killed another creature hoping that this would solve it. This did not work either.

Mixafix and I decided afterwards – that I should report this hoping someone can help me.

I will quickly add that before this happened, I went to a "place" on Central where I found this explore flag and received 4000 xp

Try having a DM kill you with the DM Kill Wand and then respawn. Hopefully after recovering your grave you should be able to gain XP again.

Mixafix killed Varka, respawned and recovered the grave but it did not work.

Could it be that the "explorer flags are bugged" - I do not recall the exact name of those flags

They've been touched by lots of people now with no ill effects. They're really not doing anything except giving some XP and adding a journal entry. No other character changes are being made.
  What server were you on?

I'm somewhat experienced with this problem. Isn't it usually solved by killing and using resurrection?

I do know that the type of raise involved also takes some xp.

We could try to do a kill Ress (with the spell) and see what happens. Then set Varka to 1 xp... oh wait, I mean give Varka (or whoever) any lost xp.

I will log on Layo again in around 9 hours...... its morning here and I have to work a bit - my boss says so...
I will try to find a GM then and go through the new ideas to see if that will solve it.

To Leanthar: You have my permission to set Varka to 1 xp... but only if you promise to let him start of as a lvl 20 character and raising in lvls as a new player

I just talked with Rowana - for some reason the xp system works/counts again.
We do not know why but it works.
