Layo records for most poofed cnr

By my count, I think I am now up to 192 nuggets of plat that have poofed in consecutive failed crafting attempts for bow parts II.  I was wondering if I was approaching a record or are there horror stories of greater volumes lost?

20 long shafts of hickory and 20 bowstrings to make Freldo's first longbow - and failed on all of them.  I gave up on woodcrafting for 10 months because of that.

Then I got bored and Freldo reached level 20 in two months, gotta love obsessive compulsive bards with a great mining partner.

Well I guess it all depends on what your chance of success is to start with?
  But failing with platinum is not as bad, in my opinion,as failing making two yew bows in a row when you have a 95% chance

I had between 45% and 50% for each attempt I think, but I was thinking raw volume of cnr used.  I know I had 95% with silver tipped mahogony arrows last week and rolled 5 1's in a row, but that was only 15 nuggets of silver lost.

Regardless how you look at it, rolling 5 1''s in a row is bad, even if all you need is a 2.

Then again, I've had times when i had a 35 percent chance at cutting a gem and still pulled it off 5 times in a row so...

Ah, if only ye pagans found the truth.  Every time Bjornigar is about to try something risky, like polishing an emerald or making an addy fullpate, he kneels and says a little prayer... to Dorand.  And ye now what? IT WORKS!   Belief in a fantasy god in character has led to truly miraculous feats, like finding 5 emeralds so far in mystery minerals a long time ago, 20 packs of platinum plates without a single one lost when he was at 35-45%, the good fortune of finding lion bag bargains in bulk and eventually the aquisition of ye ole mithral bloody hammer.  

His glory can work fer ye too, all ye need do is forget bout those false gods Lucinda, Toran, Corath and the like, and give yerselves to the forge.  Craft your guts out and say a prayer to the forge-father before every attempt and your wares and wealth will be bountiful.

So convert, ye unlucky pagans!

Also if you want to get lucky at dice rolls for party gear gambling... Deliar is the god to follow.  My good friend Demitri Shadowstep's d100s are supernaturally high rolling.  He gets 97s and 99s 5 times in a row and nobody's suprised anymore.
