    Fedora Core 4 (stentz) Released
    « on: June 13, 2005, 12:19:00 pm »
    Booya!

For all those linux fans and users out there, RedHat released Core4 today.
From what Ive heard, its should be well worth the download.

    http://fedora.redhat.com/download/

Redhat's FTP server is packed full, so the only way to get it atm is torrent.

........ the Fedora strikes again :)

      rpm -i debian !

Hehe, actually excited to see a Linux advocate no matter what the distro of choice :)
The fact that NWN runs on linux, and I had to constantly fight DAOC to keep it running, is no small part of the reason I switched games.

While I whole-heartedly agree with the debian assertion, does anyone else find it funny that it was recommended by using a redhat based command? Granted rpm has expanded beyond its redhat roots, but I would think a debian guy would use something more kin to debian like say apt-get.

Is "Fedora Core" the version of Linux officially supported by Indiana Jones? ;)

nutz - I got on Layonara for the first time last night.  At some point I zoned and crashed, then couldn't get back in.  Now when I start the client and get the splash screen there is no text.  I can click on the empty boxes, bit of trial and error, and get to the screen with my saved character, but its missing the menu text, and the avatar image.  When I click on the box where play/start should be it dumps me out to my shell.

            If I tail AR_ERROR.LOG I see this: Names Differ: ISky_001 Skyn_001

Does this mean anything to you guys?
            Thanks, Ryan

ya, first thing to do is to run ./fixinstall in the command line.

if that doesnt work, if you hve a windows install of nwn the same version, copy over all the data from ll the folders over to your lixun install, then run ./fixinstall

Really sounds like a data corruption.

If that doesnt work, you may be like me..... downloading a file over a gig to reinstall it :(

After reading your problem more crefully, it sounds like your language files got messed up.

There is an NWN Live 1.29 english languge pack on this site:
                http://icculus.org/~ravage/nwn/

I honestly dont know what would happen putting a 1.29 NWN Live language pack over an HoTU 1.66 install, but it is something you my try before (and if, for that fact) you reinstall.

Oh, and if any newcomer to linux is interested into giving it a try, here is a good place to help you during the installation process.
