NWN required?

Hi community,

I was looking around on teh interweb today for a new mmo to play and came across this.  I read a bit on it and liked what I saww so I submitted a character.  I then started reading more and realized NWN is needed so I have to ask, do I have to pay for NWN or is there somewhere I can download it (legally) without payment or is Layonara is a mod and NWN must be bought?

Take a look up at the top right of the screen as you are reading this.

You need NwN and both expansions, if you get the Diamond version you get them all three in one shot. It can not be downloaded though. It is worth it though, great community!

Diamond addition is like, 20 dollars and well worth it! Check like Wal Mart Or something *snickers*

Of course with NWN Diamond you receive 3 single player campaigns from the makers. Free access to a multitude of persistent worlds (akin to massive multiplayer but not quite so massive) so on the off chance Layonara isn't your cup of tea there probably is some group out there that is. At the very least the single player campaigns are worth the current price.

NWN Diamond is probably the best bang-for-your-buck computer game currently available for these strange things we call dollars.  (Even up here in chilly Canada it's only about $30 after-tax for the whole thing.)

Not to mention a couple of 'upgrades' to my computer just to run it, and then to run it a little better.  Speaking of which demonic you might want to check out the system requirements on the bioware boards before you go to much farther, just a thought....should be over there on nwn.bioware.com.

I had to get a new video card just to play the single-player game... @.@

But now I can ALMOST run Doom3 and Quake 4.

Just to add a bit of information...

NWN Diamond Edition is a DVD, so make sure you have a DVD drive or the proper emulator, otherwise it'll just be a waste of time. The bonus to Diamond edition though is that you don't need the disk in the drive, which is nice, because you want that thing scratch free; NWN likes to make you uninstall it about once every six months.

Ever since 1.6-something, the CD version also doesn't require the disk in the drive anymore

I actually forgot my disk in B-town over the summer, and it's not impacted my playing a bit!  Yay!  *chuckles*  (I'm in Vancouver now, D_C, but good to see hometown representin'. )
